Called ahead to see if they groomed cats. I would assume so with a name like Bow Wow Meow, but I'd been struggling to find a groomer that did, so I wanted to be sure. The boutique was absolutely adorable and the lady who assisted us was very kind, but.....she put my cat in a bag! My cat has only been given baths a few times, but she got fleas and needed one and I did want the hassle. I decided that I'd rather pay someone else to do it. Well guess what, I wound up helping anyway. The bag was to protect the groomer from scratches but it only caused my kitty more anxiety. Soaping the outside of a mesh bag also didn't really get Cali clean or help remedy the flea problem. I had to bathe her again a few days later. I left a little traumatized. I paid full price and even tipped for the trouble, but after leaving I felt cheated. If you don't deal with cats, just say that. Why would you put a cat in a bag?! read more

Bow Wow Meow is the best!! I take my corgi to Bow Wow Meow for grooming every couple months and Jessicah always does an amazing job! My little guy is usually nervous when getting groomed and she does a great job in the beginning of each appointment to help him get acclimated to his surroundings and feel safe. She has 3 corgis herself so I always feel comfortable that she knows how to handle their temperaments! I also love that Bow Wow Meow has a mini groom option that costs around $55. I have a hard time justifying a full groom for my dog since he doesn't need a full cut, so I found that the mini groom makes the most sense! I also book appointments online which makes the scheduling process a breeze. The last thing that I love about Bow Wow Meow (I could go on forever) is that they don't cage the dogs when they're done working with them. Their appointment times are tight, so you need to be ready to pick your dog up when they text you, but I find this creates a more welcoming experience for my pup. I'm always anxious taking our dog to a new groomer. She's been groomed since she was a puppy, but we have had one groomer complain about her behavior. So now I always go in a bit apprehensive. We don't need our one dog groomed but brought him in for a nail trim. They were quick and efficient with his hail trim before bringing back our other dog for a full service groom. Such a great experience! I did a ton of research on different grooming salons for my cats first summer shave and found bow wow! I was very nervous about someone grooming my kitty as well. When I first moved to Indy, I was having a tough time finding a groomer that didn't require dropping off your pup for the full day/kenneling them until it was time to be groomed. My dog, Sage, is pretty anxious, and I know that a kennel situation only makes that worse. Fortunately, we found Bow Wow Meow and Sage is in and out in less than two hours every single time. She's also able to roam freely behind the gate after she's done and waiting for pickup (versus being caged), which I really appreciate. Gretchen (the owner) has always been wonderful, and Cam does a fantastic job with Sage's grooming every time. I visited Bow Wow Meow Boutique for the first time today with one of my 2 pups. Leo had not been groomed for about 3 months due to some health issues he had and then the Corona virus keeping me inside. Leo was heavily matted and I expected I would come to pick him up to find him completely shaved head to toe. But new groomer, Grace, did an amazing job with him. Poor groomer had an hour and a half task with his terrible coat. She was able to "save" his beard, ears, and while the tail had to be shaved down, she kept a cute pom pom at the end of his tail. He has gained back his "personality" thanks to wonderful Grace. There was a mix up with my phone number and I didn't see the email Gretchen sent me saying Leo was ready. When I called the Boutique, Leo had been done for quite a while. Gretchen was not upset with me for the misunderstanding and said she and Leo had "just been hanging out together!" I live downtown and this is just a 10 minute drive for me so it is super convenient. Leo and Bella (my Bichon) have found a new grooming "home." My dog, Rex, is an Aussie Pomeranian with a moody coat that was totally messed up by a big chain groomer during covid, they shaved him down and his fur grew back patchy and rough. Great location in Fountain Square and nice to have a pet store option in this neighborhood. They offer dog grooming and Cameron did a fabulous job with our mini poodle-bouchon. If you want to wash your pet yourself they have a great facility with plenty of tubs for you to rent if you don't want to get your house all wet and dirty or your bathroom/sink at home isn't big enough. I brought my dog (whom I've only had for a week) for a self-serve wash today. I was a little nervous and unsure of how he would handle his first bath, especially because I had never bathed a dog before. We got in and Gretchen immediately led us to the bath area, which was pristine. She was incredibly helpful in helping me calm him beforehand, and helped me choose the best shampoo/conditioner/brushes to use. This place is awesome! They gave our dog Izzy a bath, nail trim, and haircut. The haircut looks great! They only charge for the time actually spent grooming your dog, and they let dogs roam and play after they're done. We were also very impressed with the cost, which actually ended up being cheaper than the chain stores. My initial contact was with Gretchen the owner who could not have been more welcoming and helpful with why type of grooming we needed for our Siberian Cat.
