Kevin is amazing! Drake provided incredibly kind customer service. I cannot give higher reviews for this mechanic. They are ethical, kind, and completely knowledgeable about this field. Grateful beyond. read more

My Mechanic - Fixed my plate and didn't even charge me!! - Auto Repair Near Me - Elmhurst, Illinois

I made an appointment to get my air conditioner fixed. I gave this place enough notice to have time to bring the part in. When the appointment was made, I was told it would take one day. I dropped my car off the night before. we called in the morning, they told us the part was ordered and that was it. then we called them at close to end of the day to see if it was OK to pick up my car and they gave us the runaround and said they would call us the next day at 10 AM. We drove by and noticed my car was never worked on because it was in the same parking spot that I left it at. I sent an email saying to forget it and that I was very disappointed. I did get a reply back and was told they were shorthanded but the person that we talked to should've explained all of this to us instead of dodging it. unfortunately this place has the worst communication!! And NO communication!! Never was told what was going on. the absolute worst customer service. when we picked up my car he didn't say good morning. He said nothing to us just handed me the key and that was it. No apology No nothing. For all this inconvenience. I highly recommend going somewhere else. read more

Joe was prompt and responsive when my '08 Saab's cooling system sprung a major leak. I was many miles from home but thankfully near his repair shop. After having a technician give me a lift back to my hotel, he provided a detailed estimate I think within the hour via a text link showing all the required repairs as well as a few recommendations. I called and his shop took care of the approved repairs immediately. The car was ready that afternoon, and I've had no issues with the repairs. And the price was very reasonable. I definitely recommend Joe's shop in Elmhurst for your car repair needs. read more

Before calling for service, I read all the reviews of My Mechanic. Reviews don't lie. The initial car estimate was exactly what I thought it would be for a 50,000 mile check up. There were no surprises. Joe was professional and accommodating. Received a drive home after dropping my car off. I'm so happy I found My mechanic for any service to my car. Thank you for your great service! read more

Needed my oil changed and possible front brakes replaced (they mentioned last August that I had a little more time on them). Time was up. Had these things done and car was ready by early afternoon...earlier than expected. All good...always. Thorough and honest. Used my loyalty points and coupons and saved a bunch. Highly recommended. read more

My wife and I have been so well informed on the conditions of all 3 of our vehicles from current needs to other issues that may need attention down the road. Andy and Kevin have always helped to accommodate us and the service from the mechanics have been great. Thanks for keeping Elmhurst what it is and always keeping a smile on our face. The honesty and integrity of these mechanics are truly commendable. I brought my car in because it was leaking oil. They cleaned it up, tightened the oil plug, refilled the oil, and conducted multiple tests over several hours, all at no charge. Thank you! read more

Andy at My Mechanic is absolutely amazing. My daughter goes to school in Elmhurst and we live in Arizona. The first time she had car problems we were so worried about where to go because we had no contacts in Elmhurst. My Mechanic has been there since Day 1 and that was 4 years ago. Andy always accepts my calls, stays late, takes that extra look, gives us a fair price, and is just an all around great person. I would give 10 stars if I could! I am and will be forever grateful for the peace of mind that My Mechanic has given me over the years. read more

I've been bringing my vehicles to My Mechanic Elmhurst for 10 years and I have had a great experience. Last time I dropped the car off for a tire rotations and oil change. When the car was returned to my wife and she was handed a broken stud from the front wheel. By returning the car with one broken stud I think they are returning an unsafe car to the owner. They explained to my wife that the stud need to be replaced (stud was broken by the shop mechanic who performed the job). I 100% understand that accidents can happen, but I never imagined that they would return a car in a an unsafe condition. When I called later to express my concern about the situation, I was told that the broken stud appeared in my service report and therefore they covered all of their bases. While it is true that this information was mentioned they only stated, "Finding: right front wheel needs 5 studs" and "Recommendation: Other." The report should only state what they discovered wrong with my car and its condition. It should not include parts that were broken by the mechanics while the car was under their supervision. The next day I had to go back and pay for the stud to be replaced. I'm an engineer with 20 years experience with Tier 1 automotive suppliers, where 5 years I worked for a company which delivers front and rear suspension for Ford Explorer - those studs are designed and built to last the lifetime of the car if are tightened with the correct torque as specified in the manual. I would like to get a response from Mike and know if this is something he considers normal... because from my point of view it is unacceptable! Hopefully this was an isolated incident but it definitely needs to be pointed out and should never be repeated. Thanks, Liviu C read more

Andy and Kevin were great from the start. They listened intently to my concerns and were able to schedule service for my vehicle very quickly. After a service technician did a multi-point inspection. I was sent a report on the health of my vehicle highlighting areas of concern and other recommendations. When I called to discuss our next steps we focused on critical maintenance items without being pressured. I was given a thorough explanation and estimated cost of the service that was completed in one day. Very satisfied and I will return to My Mechanic. Highly recommend! read more

Took my car in yesterday for an overall inspection and an oil change. Mike and Nick were very helpful. I have a future appointment to get some deferred work done and to replace all four tires (very good price on tires). As a woman, it can be very stressful when you bring your car in for work. No Stress at My Mechanic. Everytime I bring my car in, everyone is so helpful, and I get all my questions answered and they explain everything in detail. I highly recommend My Mechanic! read more

My car was making a horrible screeching noise but I need it every day when I'm home, I happened to be taking a trip and My Mechanic took my car in, got it fixed quick, and then held it for me until my S.O got home and picked it up. They didn't charge me for fixing my problem, a bent dust shield, and were super friendly about holding it for me while I was gone. Thanks so much for being accommodating, kind, and helpful! This is the second car I've brought there and they made the experience amazing both times, the online review is super helpful especially being that I was out of town. read more

I purchased a car for my son and shortly after I purchased it, the rear left brakes started grinding. My son was super-overwhelmed by the sound, and I did not want to take it to the dealer or get ripped off at a national brake repair chain. My company takes all of their vehicles to My Mechanic in Elmhurst, so I gave it a try. What a great experience!!! They were fair, understanding, checked the entire car over, gave me an update on things I need now, will need later and things that were great. I didn't expect that, but I truly appreciated it. I actually never thought I would use the words "kind & considerate" to describe an auto repair shop, but that is the worst I can say about them. I dealt with Kevin and Drako and they were just the best. They understood my constraints and really worked with me. Thank you so much, everyone at My Mechanic. You really restored my faith in your profession. I am a customer for life! Truly, thank you. read more

I'm so happy I found My Mechanic! They were friendly, helpful and professional from the initial call to schedule the appt, day of service and pickup. I had been recommended to go here and will never return . Do not go here, they overcharge and fix things that weren't broken, So they can charge you more. Then run a bunch of diagnostics which you don't know about and charge both big fees and labor is 2x as much!! I asked for 1 test done then they ran 20 tests I did not ask for and give you a list of 25 things that could possibly need to be fixed, it's ridiculous!! Do not go here..... read more

I was very happy with my experience here from start to finish. I brought my car in after it started making a very loud rattling noise. Alex explained that they would diagnose the problem and also do a full inspection of my vehicle. He also explained that they use a rating system to let you know what services need to be done ASAP and what will need to be done later down the road. I liked how informative this rating system is as it helps me plan for any future costs. It's also reassuring to know that my car is safe to drive and if there are any other issues, we can take care of them accordingly. They fully explained the costs involved with the repair to me and made sure I understood. The turnaround time for the repair was very quick and my car is driving smoothly again! Overall highly satisfied with my experience, thanks for the excellent work and the friendly staff! read more

They did a great job looking at every thing on our sienna - told us what needed to be done right away and what things could wait. They helped boil it down to what we had to do sooner rather than later. They emailed the report. I called them and set an appointment for the next day. Andy and Kevin were great with us. They came and picked up our minivan, did the work we agreed to and brought the van back to our house. They are thorough and do good work and nice to work with. Very good communication the whole time. read more

WOW! How many people can truly say that they 1hundredpercent have had the most amazing service and trust with a mechanic? I was recommended my mechanic or Andy, after my washer fluid was leaking. I stopped in to see if he had time to look under my hood and sure enough he realized the hose was disconnected. It took him 10 minutes to fix it didn't charge me anything and sent me on my way. I will definitely be coming back here for any needs for my vehicle. read more

My Mechanic does a great job with a thorough review of my vehicles which are high miles that I keep running with their eyes-on service for needed service and service I can defer, to watch in future. Recently I brought in my SUV with indicator lights flashing, they ran diagnostics and knew the engine was finished. They were aware of ongoing issues with my branded SUV, and called the local dealership to have discussions on my behalf. My Mechanic secured a commitment verbally from the dealer that a motor replacement would be covered by the manufacturer. (My vehicle was high miles and past warranty.) I appreciate their honesty and assistance to engage the dealership as my advocate. Results? My SUV got a remanufactured engine with a 12k warranty!! read more

My family and I took our cars to him for years when he was in Brookfield. This place is great! I've been going to dealers for a while after having an experience with my old mechanic that was less than ideal but decided to try here because of the reviews and professionalism. They were able to get my car aligned and a bunch of other little things done for a great price and they even offer to drive you to work if you are local. I'll be using this mechanic for my vehicle maintenance going forward as it was much more enjoyable than sitting in a dealership paying way too much money and being treated like crap by greasy salespeople. They don't try and scare you into buying unnecessary services or parts and are just good honest people. read more

Andy Rizzo and the entire My Mechanic Team helped me determine the issues with my 16 year old car. They were honest and they prioritized the needed repairs for my aging vehicle. This allowed me to spread out the repairs and keep it on the road longer without breaking the bank. If you haven't been to My Mechanic yet, you should bring your vehicle there soon. read more
