I had an extremely negative experience with the owner, Michael Darcy. After an oil change, one of his technicians damaged my window tint. When I addressed it, he denied servicing my vehicle, despite clear evidence and confirmation moments earlier that the oil change was performed there. Instead of handling it like an honest professional, he became hostile, aggressive, and threatening--raising his voice, using profanity, and telling me to "get the hell off of his property" or he would call the police. This occurred in front of my toddler and escalated very quickly. I remained calm and called the police myself, as I had done nothing wrong but expected my property to be treated with respect and care. Only after officers arrived did he agree to fix the damage, stating he just wanted it to "go the f***k away." The issue was eventually corrected, but it was done reluctantly, with no apology or accountability. The customer service was extremely poor and unprofessional. I am giving 2 stars because I have had positive experiences here in the past. However, this incident--particularly the lack of honesty, transparency, and professionalism--was unacceptable. read more

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLOR! THE MANAGER IS RACIST- he mixed up our car with another persons car at checkout and gave me someone else's keys and never did the work on our car. I ended up having to wait 2 more hours after waiting 4 hours initially because they were inspecting the wrong parts on my car thinking it was someone else's car. When I expressed my frustration in a professional manner, the owner said "I know how you people are and I don't want any trouble". He then GOT DOWN ON HIS KNEES behind the register like "what more do you want me to do?!" He was erratic and clearly visibly angry. My partner and I hurried and paid him just so we could leave because we feared for our safety once he threatened to call the police on us after HE began to be aggressive (clearly knowing that calling the police on a black person can be fatal for them). He started pacing around us and said "I need to go step away to cool off" even though we were the ones who should've been frustrated by the managers mistake. I have never experienced something so unprofessional and alarming. I will be escalating this further. Most of the positive reviews for this shop come from white people & that's what drew me in but clearly there is a separate experience for Black people. read more

I recommend this place. My 2013 Camry is several years past her warranty, and I've bounced around a couple of places since I won't bring her to the dealer anymore. 3 D is a good choice. I like the place because you can actually talk to the mechanic who works on your car. The second time I brought my Camry in to be checked, for some long road trips I plan on taking, the mechanic, Jerry, noticed my squeaky brakes. I already knew about my brakes squeaking but was really happy he tested my car and noticed it himself without me even mentioning it. He said the brakes were safe and just put some stuff on it to make them less squeaky. I liked this young guys demeanor, his care and integrity for his job. I'm only sad I am moving to Indiana soon. I was very impressed with their customer service. My brother is deaf and they did their best to ensure effective communication. They gave him a straight answer about the health of his vehicle (they had worked on it for the previous owner) and they even have him come in once a month to make sure that there aren't any new noises (since he can't hear them) or new leaks. They got his car back on the road in minimum time, but were very clear that he should be looking for a new one. I cannot say enough about the guys here at 3D. I have been taking my vehicles here for the past (almost) 9 years. They are genuinely nice people, they don't overcharge, and will do everything in their power to make sure you are happy with the work. I made the mistake when I moved out of Lombard of taking my vehicle to the dealer for some preventive maintenance. Never again. I'm so glad I relocated my work out to Lombard so these guys can be my go to for maintenance and repairs. It cost me less to do the work and for the parts than what the dealer quoted for just the parts, and the damage even happened while my vehicle was at the dealers! I was here today, they saved me HUNDREDS on my sideview mirror! (They were the NICEST people, and I called several places today.) They spent a LONG time working out how to save my mirror so I didn't have to spend hundreds on a new one, when just the bottom holding mechanism is the only part not working properly. They were super friendly, efficient, and affordable (even for my very limited medical student budget). I have a super old Jeep Wrangler that unfortunately, will likely need a mechanic fairly often. I have used 3D Complete for years and did not think they would lead me astray. As of late they had my car for 2 weeks. Within this two week time I attempted to pick up my car twice. The first time I was told my capless gas tank's flap was the issue. They lubricated it and one day after pick up my engine light was back on throwing the same code. This time I was told I needed an entire new gas valve and neck. On their recommendation this was changed with a $570 price tag. I picked it up didn't even make it onto the street out of the lot and the engine light came on again throwing the same code. I did some research and learned there are 5 total things that could throw this code to which I asked if all were checked and THEN told no but they would need $420 more dollars since they felt it was the sensor that was likely causing the code and sensor light to go on and they only have one person there that specializes in this code issue. With this response I was really frustrated and very skeptical since I had already spent $570 that likely did not have to be spent since the sensor wasn't checked prior to the neck and valve replacement, and it was only then that I was informed ONLY ONE person there could address this specific issue. Why wasn't I told this up front?? I refused this new recommendation and went to pick up my car feeling mislead. I asked for the original neck/valve and at first they refused to give it to me until they called the owner because I refused to leave without it since it was MY part. I took the car from there to another garage. Within a half hour of being at that garage it was identified that the original neck/valve part was not faulty at all AND the sensor wasn't faulty at all but rather it was disconnected and the sensor was not faulty, did not need to be replaced and did not need to cost an additional $420. It was reconnected and I was back in business. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in 3D's assessment of my car, the two week time I was without my car for no reason, the manager screaming at me when I questioned the assessment and asked for the part, and finally the UNNECESSARY $570 part and charge. I WILL NOT return here. So very very disappointed! read more

The day after I sent an email and posted my Yelp review. I got a call from the owner telling me that they would fix my headlight for free and that he was out sick that day and didn't understand what had happened. He said he doesn't do business that way and once again repeated his offer. I told him his staff did in fact do business like that the day he was gone. I refused the service and told him I won't be back. He called me 5 additional times. This morning I get an email including a link to a story about something in my background many years ago with the statement "mistakes are made - I guess we both know that". I replied stating the email was insulting and use of such material in an email is no concern to me. I get another email shortly thereafter, in which he states he has spoken to his attorney and that he has "PERFECT GROUNDS" for "defamation and libel". I replied suggesting that his counsel's advice doesn't sound like someone who has a firm grasp of the 2nd amendment and might want to google it and I am in full support of him seeking protection and redress from the legal system. What does any of this really mean? I have no idea. But, it does seem to me that when a complaint is made to this business and the owner can't convince the person who is complaining to settle his issue - the owner's next step (in this case anyway) is to make a personal insult towards the person making the complaint and if that isn't successful, it seems he tries to bully and intimidate with implied threats of legal action. This is what has happened in my case anyway. I didn't loose anything but time though this ordeal and that can't be replaced. But, the aspect of what has transpired after has confirmed my decision not to return to this business. read more

My friend had his Fiat 500 die due to a bad battery late Sunday night. He had to leave it in a Walgreen's parking lot overnight. 3D Complete Car Care was located across the street & early the following morning they provided a jump for the car to get it to their location. A new battery was installed immediately (it was a busy Monday & the battery price was very good). We left but quickly noticed the radio & a/c were not working in the Fiat. We returned to 3D Complete Car Care & a service technician spent quite some time troubleshooting the issue. It was determined that the battery surge during the jump probably damaged the fuse so they replaced the fuse at no charge. Our experience at 3D Complete Car Care was very good & we found them to be honest, fair & helpful. read more

I came into 3D a few weeks ago on a recommendation from my "mobile mechanic". I needed a wheel bearing for my Kia and my mechanic sent me here since it was some work he doesn't do. He told me their prices were good and it wouldn't take long. I called them ASAP and spoke with Mike. I was surprised they were able to take me in on a Saturday at noon but he did warn me that, even though the actual work would only be a little over an hour or so, I would have to leave my car since they were busy but I would have the car by 3:30. They close at 3 but were willing to wait for me to pick up my car. The area has plenty of places to eat (many in walking distance) if you have to stick around and wait. They also have wifi (just ask for the password) and a vending machine. I decided to head home, since it wasn't far. Mike called around 3pm and told me the car was ready. All was well for a few days and then my car started making the same horrible sound it made before the repair. I called 3D the moment they opened the next day and explained the issue. Mike told me to bring it in Saturday (try on the earlier side) and they will look at it. Well I didn't get there as early as I would have hoped but I still made it by 11am. They took it in right away and Alex informed me that it was a bad part and will be replaced under warranty for no charge. This time I had no choice and waited for my car. I made use of the wifi and the vending machine. Within 2 hours, I was done and on my way home. 3D was great. Mike and Alex were an excellent to me. Since the problem was a safety issue, I wanted it fixed ASAP and they understood that. Great prices and great customer service. read more

A few wks ago I called early one morning and spoke with Drew twice and he was very calming, straightforward and informative. I was trying to buy a used Dodge Grand Caravan minivan off of Craigslist from a guy just a few miles away from them and Drew explained how they cannot meet up with me at the seller's location, but if the seller or I can bring the car to their shop they can do a thorough inspection of it for me for a reasonable set price in 1hr time total. Are you kidding me? My wife brought her car here for an alignment 1 yr ago after putting 2 new tires (4 days earlier)on the front of her mini-van. Fast forward 15 mos later I am doing a brake job on the front wheels. When I pulled off the tires I noticed BOTH tires worn bald ONLY ON THE INNER PORTION. ** RED FLAG** THE ALIGNMENT IS NOT CORRECT** Tires should not be wearing ONLY ON THE INNER PORTION!!! So I checked receipts and called 3 D. Got some awesome customer service. (Wally?) told me she may have hit a pot hole. O.K. Really? Both wheels? Then he went on to say the back tires look good. Yeah no shit.. The whole reason I brought the car in for an alignment was because the front tires were not wearing correctly and just replaced them. Long story short he would not honor his work and I WILL TELL EVERYONE NEVER TO GO TO THIS HACK PLACE. I DONT THINK THEY EVER DID AN ALIGNMENT IN THE 1ST PLACE. Well the works not bad. The labor prices aren't bad or good. 90$ an hour is ehh kind of standard around here when the gentleman inside was telling me he's the only one around with that price (a guy down the block from me charges 76...). I had some suspension work done they fixed it all up nicely. The manager Christina is really nice and sweet. The only thing I found funny was I did buy the front pieces used, but still working properly, the mechanic told me i needed new new ones. Thanks...the thing is though he did say he had never ridin in the car before. I tried to explain that it was from a sports model but eh they just said they're bouncey. These guys are great! I have had my vehicle serviced there several times and their prices are better than all other places I get quotes from. The last time I was there was to try to locate a minor oil leak. They cleaned the bottom of the engine (there was a lot of oil as it had been leaking for a while) and told me to bring it back in 500 miles so they could properly diagnose the issue (no charge). I brought it back a few weeks later; they discovered the issue but given the age and mileage of the vehicle, along with the fact I plan to keep for a maximum of 2 years, they recommended I just monitor the oil level but not repair it as it would be too costly versus the value of the vehicle. Hard to find good, honest car repair people these days but look no further--3D Complete Car Care has them. read more

While these folks were really friendly, I'd never go back. There are several tricks we all know service shops pull on you. This shop was textbook with the tricks. I needed a minor repair that I probably could have done myself with the right tools. This shop said they could not fix it the simple way and ( tech provided a string of illogical reasons) and instead it would be over $200. I drove it two blocks to a shop who not only fixed it, but didn't even charge me because it took 8 minutes and a silver clamp to repair. In addition, my air flow vent had been disconnected and for some reason not reconnected. Of course it could all be mild incompetence; the tech may have been misinformed, vent may be an accident. They get 2 stars mainly because they were really courteous and friendly. read more

Horrible Customer Service. Took 3 days just to reach a diagnosis and when I asked why, I got a sarcastic reply "you certainly never had an electric problem with your car before... it takes time" and once they did figure it out, I get a call telling me they need to change some parts and when I asked about why it costs that much, the first reply I got was "Sir, we're here to fix cars. If you don't like it we can push your car out and you can get it towed." The attitude is horrible. I asked them to leave the car and I'll take my business somewhere else, so they wanted to charge me a daily parking fee !!!! Not sure how good they are in fixing cars, but I'm positive you can get it cheaper, cleaner, quicker and certainly with a lot better attitude from many of the other shops on Roosevelt. I just left this place after having a terrible experience. I walked in asking for my car to be looked at as it keeps on not starting and I asked for a diagnosis. The person behind the counter (I'm assuming is the manager), took my information and my keys, I asked how long before I get a diagnosis and he said "within the hour". I thought that was a long time to tell me what's wrong, and maybe I misunderstood. So I went back and I asked again how long to would take to get a diagnosis as I have to let work know. He snapped at me and said "I don't have a magic wand. I wish I did, and I can just use it to diagnose your car and fix it for you instantly. But I don't. Until I do, you have to wait" I was shocked as he as practically yelling at me, I said I'm not asking for a magic wand, just a rough estimate to know what I should tell work as they're waiting for me to call back. He said "fine! 20 mins! But I can't guarantee it" I said I'm not asking for a guarantee and won't hold you for it, I'm only asking based on your experience, since I've never done this before.. He just said "ok then!" and I walked away. I could hear him talking so nicely to the next customer. There was a customer waiting there and I looked at her and she said "I'm sorry, I have no idea why he's behaving this way. I've never seen them treat customers this way before". I waited in the waiting area and he came back after 20 minutes saying that I need a new battery and a new alternator and that it would cost $599. I asked for a break down for the $599 and he was annoyed but showed me the break down. I said "ok, I have to think about it" and before I could even finish my sentence he walked away from me and said with his back to me "you can get your keys outside". I was floored and so was the customer sitting there! He didn't even give me the paper with the estimate. I called him back and said "excuse me, but do you have a problem with me?" He said "Listen, you asked for an estimate. I gave it to you in the time line I promised you. I'm not even charging you for the estimate and I'm not forcing you to do business with us. So I don't see the problem. I'm sorry if you felt I was a little rushed, but as you can see, I have other customers". All with a very pissed off attitude. I said "I don't think you were rushed, I think you were rude. There's a difference".. He just said "well, I'm sorry you feel this way. Have a good day" And turned around. No other customers were waiting to be served at the time. I was shocked and said "wow, I've never seen such poor customer service". He didn't seem to care. He left me standing in the hallway talking to myself and walked away. The fact that I'm a Muslim that wears the headscarf, and that he was so nice to other customers in front me, leads me to think the worst. I was very polite with him from the beginning and he was nothing but rude. Not only am I never going back, but I will be telling everyone I know to not come back. I went there based on the recommendation of my neighbor. I will make sure they all know about how I was treated. read more
