I hosted my bday recently at my kitchens beautiful backyard space and couldnt have been happier with my experience. I live in the area but had never been to mykitchen before and was excited when I learned they had a big outdoor space as I was hoping to safely get together with friends for my bday. Rebecca and Yvan are new owners of the space but have extensive experience in restaurants and hospitality. They were so helpful with decor ideas and strung up beautiful lights outside that made the place look magical. I also wanted a mexican themed party with margaritas and food and it turned out Latin food was Yvans specialty. I literally hit the jackpot being able to host a dream party for my 40th so close to home. Yvans fish tacos and empanadas were out of this world, I just wish they were able to share more of their delicious food and drinks outside of private events. Let's just say if Rebecca and Yvan opened up a restaurant, we'd be their most loyal customers!!! I can't say enough great things about mykitchen. I was outraged with the service that I received from My Kitchen, with Dhanny in particular. I had ordered numerous trays of food for my wedding and was excited with working with My Kitchen. After multiple interactions, via email and over the phone, I had thought that I was going to have more than enough food for my guests and had no worries. However, the day of my wedding hours before my guests arrive I called the restaurant to confirm pick up, Dhanny told me that she NEVER made my order. She proceeded to blame me, and gave me some story that another bride with a similar name had decided to use her restaurant and assumed that we were the same couple. I was rather upset because she had my name, specific order, email, and phone number. I refuse to believe that all of the other couple's information was identical to mine. What made matters worse is that rather than trying to help me figure something out all she did was insist that it was my fault. Never did she make the attempt to assist me. Luckily with the help of my family and friends I was able to find food to feed my guests. I would never use My Kitchen or recommend them to anybody. They need a better system and better communication to insure that they don't "confuse" couple's weddings again. read more

I got married on 10/03/16,and had the best experience with Dhanny and Joe. We had 60 guests and opted for buffet service and had the wedding ceremony in the back patio. We were treated so well by the staff, and Dhanny and Joe bring such an intimate "mom and pop" feel to their work. It was exactly what we were looking for. The food was delicious,the environment was warm and the place looked beautiful. It took several meetings and a few months of preparation and Dhanny was a pleasure to work with. She is professional and helpful with a great knowledge of every aspect of event planning. My wife and I will make My Kitchen our anniversary destination for as long as they'll have us :) read more

I've had hit or miss experiences at this restaurant. One time, the short ribs were to die for. Another time we were served a tasting menu of three oily pasta dishes. It's sort of the luck of the draw. Great local spot with a unique atmosphere, wonderful staff, and delicious food. We've been thinking of going to this place for a while and it was worth it. The food is prepared the moment you order so everything is fresh but that gave us time to overindulge in appetizers which were amazing as well (lobster bisque was the best). Entrees were terrific as well with the Oxtail stew having a great spice taste to it. Desserts were wonderful even if we didn't think we had enough space (the pear in wine was phenomenal). My apologies and please let my review reflect the old owners and NOT the current status of the new management it is under today. Looks like My Kitchen should be judged with a clean slate although management should take into strong consideration changing its name given the abundant of terrible yelp reviews. ****** In January of 2012, my sister surprised me and held a very special and private event at My Kitchen. From what I was told at the initial planning/stages of it all, the owner was very nice and agreeable in terms of what my sister was looking for which included round tables and bottles of wine on each table for the price included in the contract. At the last minute (week of event) the owner unapologetically called to state that he is no longer able to provide the round tables and that he could only accommodate long rectangular tables. What that means is that seating assignments were changed up, more centerpieces needed to be ordered and more wine needed to be provided, which they charged us extra for. On the day of the actual event, and having the (not so) pleasure of dealing with the owner and staff myself, I felt like our event was VERY rushed towards the ending. As we were wrapping up our private event, the owner got angry and had no issues showing it because we apparently moved a little too slow for him in clearing out. An outburst of charging us extra for keeping his employees there longer than expected was spewed within very close hearing range of our guests that is by FAR unprofessional and embarrassing. Why couldn't he just pull the host (my sister)aside and dispute this privately? The staff was very young and didn't have the slightest clue on what was expected of them. They did their job but gave off the sense that they're only doing it b/c they're getting paid and didn't care to provide the extra smile. What went from pleasantries prior to signing the contract, ended up turning into a a slightly sour ending as we rushed our guests out and told them they had to leave the restaurant NOW otherwise we'd be charged for the extra time. My Kitchen has lost the business of 60+ patrons for future private bookings and we are very very embarrassed how things ended. No one should have had to leave such a lovely event on that kind of note. read more

I walked in My Kitchen based on the reviews i saw on here. I will be honest, out of all of the places i searched this is the one place i actually went to in person. When you drive up it looks like the outside of a restaurant, but once you enter it literally is like you walked into another world. I planned my wedding in less than a month, it was originally suppose to be just signing of paper but my mother wanted me to do a little more. I have never planned a wedding before but i chose to start here. I sincerely believe God lead me here. Dhanny is the sweetest person and genuinely cared about helping us. We didn't have anything, not flowers, nor cake. She suggested places to us and showed us ideas. She has an art at this and was truly helpful. The place is so beautiful. My wedding only had 40 guest, originally was suppose to be 25 but you know how people add on last minute, she was great with this, extremely helpful. The food was amazing omg. Her husband is the chef and omg the food was so good, one of my guests went up for food like 5 times (yes my husbands family still laughs about it). We chose to do buffet. We also chose not to assign seats since people switch seats anyways. Dhanny helped with the decor, she made it look so beautiful. she told me to get a few items and she would do the rest and she made it perfect. Honestly it looked amazing. We did the cocktail hour in the back outdoor area and it was awesome. the appetizers were so delicious. The bar had all kinds of liquor and delicious cocktails. I literally ordered things on amazon and she put everything together, even had my cake done down the block (yes the cake was so good) and didn't have to worry about having someone bring it since the place brings it for you. The florist a few doors away as well was awesome. Both were recommended by Dhanny. Its the perfect place for your wedding of different sizes. Ive seen her have different events there and they really make it fabulous. I think i would want to have my baby shower here once we decide to have kids because I've seen what she does for those as well. Stay far, far away. Do not make the same mistake we did. I can't make this stuff up, please read. We had an event in the party room with 50 adults and 20 children. We did not learn about the majority of these issues until several days after our event when our family and friends felt more comfortable telling us their real experiences. We have been busy this week calling each family to apologize for selecting this place - seriously. The owner , Galik puts up a good front when you are putting your deposit down but it is a farce. He is obnoxious, has zero customer service and was three sheets to the wind by the end of our event at 8pm. Reading other posts I don't think this was an exception. First of all, we were not allowed to pick our menu and were not told this until 10 days before our party when we tried to finalize the menu. Galik told us the items on the menu were samples of what he might cook but the ultimate decision was his. His argument was, "Trust me, it will be delicious." It was too late to back out so we moved forward. 45 minutes into our party there were no appetizers. Galik yelled at my wife when she asked for a status. His reply was that the food takes time to cook. Why he didn't think of this before our party started is beyond me. Especially someone that repeatedly reminds you he is a trained chef. When the "passing of the appetizers" did finally happen, one of the guests mentioned to my wife that they weren't able to try any of the clams. My wife went to Galik to ask for more and he just screamed "everything comes out in sequence" , he ran to the pot where the clams were , shook them up and said "look these are all your clams for your damn party, let us do our job and bring them out when they are ready in sequence order ". My wife was completely stunned as anyone would be. His behavior is just absolutely unbelievable especially when you are the paying customer. A simple request was made from one of our guests , to have a bowl of hot water so they can warm a bottle for their 7 month old daughter. Galik's response, "do I look like I am running a soup kitchen?" Our guest even explained why she needed it and still he refused. Who does that?? Children had a couple of menu options. My 2 yr old niece was so busy playing she didn't eat promptly and her pasta was removed from the table. When my sister asked Galik for another bowl of pasta he refused her request. His reasoning was that he already made the pasta and it wasn't his fault that she didn't eat the first time. Keep in mind, a bowl of pasta for a 2 yr old. How much effort does it take to make 1/8 lb of pasta? Another guest asked the waitress if they can have a bowl of pasta with sauce on the side for his child .The waitress' response was , no sorry we don't do that , our guest was confused . This is the first time in a restaurant hearing that they will not fulfill a simple request like that.The waitress was probably scared to go back to the kitchen to ask Galik such a request .I don't blame her for he just screams and embarrasses everyone. Galik did not prepare enough food. Our party was buffet style. We later discovered he made one tray of each entree and nothing more. My mother asked for a second serving of fish. Galik told her there was no more. No other explanation was given. We are very embarrassed and very sorry to all our family and friends that we chose this place for our event. Please help us deliver the message to Galik that this is not acceptable. Stay away!!!! read more

I went to my kitchen to inquire about throwing dinner party for my family. From what I could see from their website I had high hopes. Unfortunately upon visiting the restaurant, I was extremely disappointed by the owner Dhanny. Her attitude was discourteous and condescending towards me and my wife and daughter. Just by her facial expression it seemed as though I was annoying her just by asking questions regarding dishes. And she seemed especially irritated by my daughter. From that first meeting I was so outraged by the whole situation that I promised I would write a review regarding what happened. My Kitchen definitely has great ambiance, there is no set dress code although it feels as if it might. the chef has a very unique flare and his wife is just fantastic. They are a lovely couple. The dishes range from to die for to Alright. The prices are just right and the ambiance is for Lovers. definitely a first date type of place or the type of place you take someone you love. the waitstaff is youthful and with that come lots of positives and some negatives but it is what it is. I won't give them a 5 star rating because of small short comings I hope they address like access to the rear patio... It would be lovely to have some coffee or dessert in the deck in the rear patio some day in the future...like in their web site maybe? The waitstaff: youthful, eager, still learning, room to improve. But don't take my word for it, stop by for some dessert, they have tasty delicious desserts, you might return for dinner. read more

I'm surprised to see that many good reviews of this establishment. I took my mom to it today,wanted to surprise her. Boy, did it work! First off-when we walked in, music was playing so loudly that I could't hear my own thoughts. After we were seated, the waitress was MIA for about 15 minutes. In that time we've noticed dirty water glasses. Super! Then the water pitcher showed up on the table and guess what....dirty. Moving on to food. We ordered poached salomon with grilled veggies.Well, the fish as well as veggies were definitely kept in the freezer for way too long and were just heated up before serving. Looked as awful as it tasted. Mushy and tasting ...well...like freezer. Chicken breast left as thinking as well. Same veggies,overcooked penne pasta and boiled chicken that was supposed play grilled meat. Aha! Grilled steak was great but veggies again...gross! Through the whole dinner we were talking about our food and waitress probably noticed our food-shuffling on the plate because we were not charged for wine (at least not that I could see on the bill), and we got a piece of moist cake ( which was suprisingly good) gratis as well. Overall...just because of food I will never go there again. Suprisingly... for the family-run business they don't care about other families' experience in their establishment. I really wanted to love My Kitchen. But I was SO disappointed. I know the new owners and they are very sweet, hard working people. However, I recently hosted an event at My Kitchen and it was the worst... sadly I was the host! It happen to be the hottest day in the summer, and the AC was not working in the restaurant. I know this is not necessarily the fault of the owner, but it certainly did not help the afternoon. The food was sub-par to say the least. We had a choice between chicken and salmon. For those guests that chose the salmon, it was the smallest sliver of fish - I mean an inch in width tops! The waitresses were not experienced and there were a few issues with the food (under-cooked, cold, wrong order etc). So embarrassing. And then the coffee was self serve....never had that before with a seated meal. To say the least I will not host another event here. To boot, I spent $35 per head which was about $5-8 more per person than other restaurants. I just loved the ambiance and wanted to give the new owners a shot. Man was I wrong... read more

Came here for birthday dinner for Mom. It was a great meal. We shared a Cesar salad among three of us. It was a great portion with one of the best dressings I've had. I am picky when it comes to Cesar's but they did a great job! I had the Pappardelle with curried lamb ragu, and yogurt lime sauce on it. Yes!! Mom had the grilled chicken with artichokes. She loved it, but knew she would love it since she'd had it before. Friend had angel hair pasta with spinach and plum tomatoes in garlic sauce, instead of the tomato sauce that is on the menu. The owner/manager is a complete jerk who obviously does not know the first thing about customer service or planning events. I called to inquire about prices for an event I was hosting - he was brusque, rude, and literally started YELLING at me when I inquired for some detail on the packages he offers, insisting that I needed to come in if I wanted any information. (Btw I was mindful of calling around 4pm, solidly between the lunch and dinner rush). When I told him I wouldn't take up any more of his time because clearly he must not need the business since he couldn't even speak to me calmly, he hung up on me but I was treated to a lovely string of expletives before he did. Please do not book a party here!!!!! The owner was very charming and promised such a great party. Well the day of my party the owner was drunk and rude to all my guests. I was shocked and mortified! The food was terrible and he did not supply enough food to feed my guest. He promised a dessert bar and never delivered, and instead served a small cake which tasted like cardboard with icing. First of all, this review is just to inform you of our actual experience so that if you decide to go to this venue you are well informed and make the right questions before booking it. It might sound like a cliché, but I wish I had used Yelp to have an idea before going to this place. When I started looking for a venue to hold our wedding reception, My Kitchen struck me as a great place with fresh decour and an intimate atmosphere. In our conversations with the owner everything seemed to be clicking and it almost seemed as if the stars aligned when we met personally. Galik's personality was perceived as kind and relaxed which made us feel assured of our decision. He offered a variety of options for our party and we decided to go with the "Informal Sit Down" for 40 people which included salad, main dish and dessert. The wedding cake and the center pieces [with our chosen color theme] were included also in the deal. We booked our reception from 6pm till 10pm with the opportunity to show up two hours before to set up the final touches. Well, things did not work out like I wish they had on the day of our reception. A half-hour before we were scheduled to arrive to the place, a friend of mine texted me to inform me that our table [bride and groom are supposed to have a separate table] hadn't been set up yet and that "they had a weird vibe from the owner". I called Galik to find out what was really happening and he informed that "they were having more serious problems". Some of my guests [around 6-10] arrived an hour earlier than the scheduled time and Galik had to call staff earlier to take care of them. I found this odd and started to get a little worried because he said that he would have to charge me more for that extra time. We were not prepared to cover extra expenses besides 4-5 additional guests. This made the remaining of our trip stressful. What were we supposed to do? Get angry? Pay what he asked for? When we got to the place, we told him that we only agreed to pay only for those 4 hours but he said he was not in the position to throw our guests to the street. We agreed that we would leave an hour earlier to make up for that extra hour. Once inside the restaurant, everything seemed a little more relaxed or at least we thought so. The sound system had to be continuously tweaked because the connection was faulty. There wasn't any dessert served at any point and the cutting cake turned out to be a maneuver done by him in which he personally provided some entertainment by lighting a small firework display on top of our cake. In summary, the food was ok, the staff was ok but since we were pressed for time we had to wrap up the whole thing pretty quickly. Although, he did mention an hour before we had to leave that we could stay until 10pm because he saw that my wife was pretty stressed out. We honestly did not want to stay there any longer. I can't stress this enough but before you book ask as many questions as you find necessary such as what would happen if guests show up earlier than expected. Would there be an extra charge? Give him permission to refuse service until the scheduled time if that is ok with you. Make it clear that you want a specific color for your flowers if you are into details [My wife was not that mad when we found out that our center pieces were pink instead of white]. Get them to serve you dessert. Check the sound system for yourself and make sure that you want the music to play while you use the microphone. We had to learn how to use it the sound system on our own because the staff was not able to show us. If you got to read everything, kudos to you! The place is not bad but I wish he had asked more questions and not let first impressions count for everything. After all, business is business. read more

My husband and I dined here on a Friday evening out of curiosity and to determine whether or not we wanted to host our wedding rehearsal dinner here. Ignoring the B rating, we entered the restaurant. For a Friday night, we were one of only 2 tables, and the wait staff made me feel very uncomfortable by looming over us as soon as we were seated. With our entree, we were given the option of a glass of house wine, which tasted pungent. I ordered what I thought was chicken Parmesan, but what was brought to my table, in a skillet no less, was a very oily concoction with little to no cheese. What a disappointment. read more

My Kitchen Restaurant is a gastronomic delight! My wife and I dined there last Thursday evening with friends. It was glowingly recommended by mutual friends, so we expected to enjoy a great meal and we were not disappointed! After the food came we stopped talking and started eating. We just made continual eye contact with each other with great big smiles on our faces. To say that our food exceeded expectations is a gross understatement. The restaurant is run by new owner//operators; a husband and wife team, both with gourmet pedigrees. My Kitchen is awful...The service, the food, the atmosphere are all horrible. I went to a bridal shower there and it was the worst. The servers for the party were teenagers. The bartender was a teenager. They had no clue what they were doing. The owner threw us out of the place five minutes before the party even ended. He insulted numerous guest at the shower.
