Haven't been here in almost 10 years and decided to give it a try again. Ordered the 4 burger set with fries. Tasteless and dry in my opinion. No soft pillowy bun which is what like from other burger joints. Maybe my mistake was that I should have ordered a specialty burger. The BB has an obsession with pickles so we ordered the fried pickles to try. Was a little shocked at the big portion size when it arrived. First time trying Bareburger and, unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of the burger. I liked the option of customizing a burger and adding as many veggies as you want. They definitely piled the veggies on, which I appreciated. However, the beef patty was not great texturally. There seemed to be an issue with consistency, three of us ordered the same burger cooked medium rare but our burgers were cooked with different levels of doneness. One was perfectly medium rare, one was very rare, and mine was in between with some parts that were rare. The rare parts felt (and looked) too much like raw ground beef, tasted mushy. It wasn't a big deal though because it was still edible. If I come back here, I would probably just order medium to be on the safe side. What actually ruined the patty for me was the chewy, rubbery gristle. The other burgers didn't have as much but mine had gristle in nearly every bite. Thankfully, the brioche bun and veggies kind of made up for the meat. The onion rings were really fried and super crunchy; they almost looked burnt. It was a little too fried for me but I still enjoyed it. The spicy barbecue sauce was really good and had a tiny kick. I preferred the spicy barbecue sauce to the garlic aioli. The aioli was too thick so I liked combining the two sauces. The fries were basic chain restaurant fries, crispy and fluffy. I would be happy with ordering either fries or onion rings again. However, I think the onions rings made the burger more enjoyable. Pretty big place with lots of seating. Quick and friendly service. read more

We decided to come here before a concert at Forest Hills stadium. We made a reservation, but didn't need one. We arrived around 5. I started with a house red. What was I thinking? It was awful. For the first time in my life, I sent a glass of wine back. I asked for a glass of the Pinot Noir, not house. I was good. I thought I was ordering a Bison blue burger, but I never asked for it. I actually ordered a build a burger. I ordered the bacon jam and cheese on the side. Also ordered the collard green. When I didn't get the bacon and onions, I asked the server. He told me why. My mistake. The bison was ok. Quite frankly, my bison burgers at home are juicer. Glad I tried it. However, wrapping it in a collard green is ingenious!!! We grow collards. Who needs a bun? I've been craving a smashburger for a minute, and since Forest Hills is still waiting for the greatly anticipated 7TH STREET!!, I searched smash burgers, and Bareburger came up. They have a whole section of their menu dedicated to smash burgers and various options, so I figured this would be a good choice to hold me over. It was not. I'm not sure how you can sell smash burgers while demonstrating you don't even know what a smash is. Should be thin, crispy around the edges, which leads to a cooked through burger. What I received was basically raw, no caramelized edges, and zero taste anywhere. I tried the regular and the truffle. The truffle wasn't even in the room with me, but it did have about 50 huge mushrooms. Just call it a mushroom burger at that point, because truffles and mushrooms are NOT even remotely the same, and are they are not interchangable, so basically false advertising to use the word "truffle" as your burger's name. I had to take all of them off because there were just so many, they were so big, and didn't taste great. There was not even one pepper flake or one salt crystal added to season the beef. Literally tasteless. I upgraded one burger to a meal and got a side salad and water, the salad stating on the menu that it came with green goddess dressing. For almost $30, I got: a tasteless burger, a raw burger, a salad with not dressing, but rotting lettuce pieces instead. Huge disappointment to have given almost $30 to this place. To my surprise, it came as a double patty, which made it a lot of food. I finished the burger but only managed a couple of fries. The burger was tasty, though not as crispy as a typical smash burger, but still enjoyable. The restaurant was pretty busy, and service was a bit slow, but my server was helpful whenever he came by. The space has an eclectic, fun décor, and although there was music playing, it wasn't loud which I appreciated. Came here with my husband after work and had a delightful time! Was served by a wonderful waiter who deserves a raise (Erick M) for the hospitality and being awesome at his job. My husband ordered the Wagyu Smash burger and I got the Cali bowl of course because I wanted to be healthy. It was good as I expected and was interested the way the beets were basically puréed. Loved that there were potatoes and everything just works well together. Wagyu burger was so juicy and a bit salty but to be expected with burgers. My daughter and I had dinner there on a cold and windy night. The place has plenty of seating and there wasn't a lot of people on a Wednesday night. We were told to sit anywhere and a friendly waiter handed us some menus and brought us water and some popcorn. The menu has changed a little since last week came. There is now an option to get the burger on a bed of lettuce. I got the elk burger with blue cheese, kale, and an egg. My daughter got the standard burger medium well done without the pickles. Her burger was simple but full of flavor. It was a solid burger. My elk burger was done medium and it was very juicy. If you had told me it was a hamburger instead of an elk burger I would have never thought it was elk. There was a slight gaminess but the blue cheese hid it well. Came here for dinner a few times. The service is always REALLY spotty. I feel like it takes forever for someone to take your order and they never come back and check on you. My brother ordered a burger and it had a hair in it and the server replaced it, but didn't seem apologetic or fazed by it at all. The food here is standard, nothing special but nothing bad either. Was very excited to try this spot since I have always heard good things about Bareburger. I had their National burger which came with bacon, cheese and their special sauce. The patty itself was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. My boyfriend ordered a bison burger with blue cheese which was actually quite delicious. I had never had bison before, the patty was rich in flavor and was surprisingly very good. Their onion rings were big and crunchy and well seasoned. Our Cokes arrived extremely flat and oddly tasted like Dr. Pepper (I actually like Dr. Pepper, but when I order a Coke I'd kind of like just a Coke). The food came out shortly after. My friend ordered a very classic burger and fries, which were fine (nothing going on there). I ordered the jalapeño bowl, which was pretty awful (whoopty-do!). The chicken was fine (not much of this was incorporated in the dish for some reason) and the rest of it was just bleh. The cauliflower had a strange smell, the beans were cold, the tortilla chips were boring, and the salad tasted synthetic. Would I eat here again? Absolutely not. Did I order the wrong thing? The organic beef burger came with pepper jack cheese, red onion, lettuce, ketchup and mustard. Also, they give you a small bowl of popcorn on the house. The turkey was definitely the better of the two, especially with a extra side of garlic aioli. However, like the last visit, their beef burger just lacks flavor. Maybe it simply needs more salt to bring out the beefiness, but it pales in comparison to Shake Shack across the street. With that said, their bison and elk burgers are all quite yummy from previous visits. The fried pickles are a good appetizer and goes well with the burgers. Probably one of the best spots location spots I've ever had from this chain. It has limited parking in the area but if you find them it has paid parking. Got in when location was empty. They gave us popcorn for "bread of the table" which was new for me. I know the chain had removed and revised their menu and was Eager to try the impossible burger. The onion rings are always great. Order the Single So Co which is one all-natural turkey patty, avocado, organic tomato, organic baby kale, raw red onion, spicy green goddess. Plus, guess what my gluten free friends, gluten free buns are available here. Also, throughout the menu, the gluten free items are labeled as such for your knowledge. Yipeee!
