The guy who came out took over 3 hours to "Diagnose" the problem, but because he had taken way longer than it should have, he only charged us for two hours. Got an estimate that the unit needed a new heat kit and we accepted it. NOTE: Their estimates try to be general and I do not like a general estimate when the cost is over a thousand dollars. They came out and put in the 'heat kit' and the heat worked. The only problem was it would not shut off when it reached the correct temp on the thermostat. We called Northwind and told them of the problem and they sent someone out. This guy was similar to the other in that it took him 4 hours to diagnose the problem and each time he would tell us it was a problem, we would say, "But your guys fixed that." and his story as to what the problem was would change. We were told at least 4 different reasons this was not working. He finally settled on it was a valve on the roof and he had tested it with a magnet. The other problem was the guy would stand around and talk to employees the whole time he was here. Then he called a manager up to the front to tell her he was only going to charge for 2 hours. I was there and heard it and left her to sign. The next morning I get an invoice charging us 4 hours for sending out the village idiot. I immediately called Northwind and was put through to someone named Dale with an attitude. I explained the issue and he had said well you don't have to be upset and I told him I wasn't and was speaking in a normal tone and am just telling him the issue. He apologized and made a comment that he was just saying it because of others?!? Then he told me he was going to check into it and call me back. That was on 1/25, a week ago yesterday, and he still hasn't gotten around to it. I called another A/C company and they immediately found the problem. Whoever put in the heat kit or the person coming to 'diagnose' the overheating issue had burned out an entire circuit board. The actual problem was fixed when they reset the thermostat but now we have to buy a new board to be able to have heat in the front of the building. Northwind used to be good. Undoubtedly they are scraping the bottom of the hiring barrel now due to their growth. The people they are sending out now are incompetent, lazy, and slow. Oh, but they do continuously send you reminders that you have an estimate you haven't agreed to!!! You need to sign it so they can send another village idiot out. USE ANYONE ELSE

Ray and his team hooked me up with a great, highly rated Carrier system and I feel I received a fair price too. By the next afternoon, I had a whole new system. About a month later, I had some more questions and Ray, Son and Rachel were immediately responsive. I highly recommend this company if you have any HVAC issues!!

I am beyond fed up with AC companies and their absurdly overpriced systems. Unfortunately, this…read morecompany is no exception. To be clear, the technicians at Texas Mechanical Strong were great. Professional, respectful, and clearly doing their best. My issue is entirely with the owner. I was sold an $8,000 two-ton, two-speed unit to service a roughly 600 sq ft master bedroom and bathroom. Even with my limited HVAC knowledge, I knew the unit was oversized. But the owner was extremely confident and assured me it was the right solution. It was not. The system has been a complete failure. Humidity regularly exceeds 60% RH, and trying to correct this has turned into a drawn-out mess. And the unit itself is only half the problem. The other half is the owner, Rey. Because the system wasn't performing as promised, I had to repeatedly call the company to inspect it. That is not my fault. I was sold a product that does not do what it was sold to do. During these visits, his own technicians told me that the owner referred to me as an "annoying customer." They also questioned why this particular unit was ever recommended for such a small space in the first place. I understand I was working within a budget. What I don't accept is being sold a poorly suited system just so the company could hit a price point. What made things worse was Rey repeatedly insisting that I demanded RH in the 50s. I have zero recollection of ever saying that. When I pushed back and pointed out that 50s is not the only acceptable or realistic target, he became defensive and sarcastically suggested that maybe he "isn't an expert" and "doesn't know what he's doing." He also claimed he has the same unit in his own home and that it works great. That comparison is meaningless. His home is far larger than a 600 sq ft space. The final straw was when they came out to run tests and told me they would return a week later. Whatever adjustments were made actually made things worse. Humidity began spiking into the 60s and 70s. I reached out to Rey directly and was completely ignored. I genuinely feel bad leaving this review because the technicians were solid, and they are the only reason this company isn't getting an even lower rating. But the way this situation was handled at the ownership level was insulting, dismissive, and unacceptable.

The quote for an AC inspection was very reasonable and he was very responsive in setting up the inspection even I contacted him via Yelp after business hours when I was ready to schedule. I was trying to make an informed decision of buying a townhome. After a prepurchase home inspection from Randall with RECON Home Inspections (also high recommended). Inspector suggested to have an electrician and an HVAC technician to have further inspection. The HVAC Tech arrived in its company van wrapped with its logo during the scheduled time. Around 45 mins prior to it, I got a text from TX Eagle about the arrival time. The HVAC Tech named Justin was very knowledgeable and thorough. He was patient to answer any questions I had and he used the human body and the heart as an analogy to explain the AV system to demystify it, so it was easy to understand and I appreciated it. He found the problem which half the evaporator coil were not working due to blockage that was why the temperature couldn't go down further than 76°f, which the home inspector pointed out prior but didn't know why. He also checked the duck in the attic and mentioned the firewall were torn down which needed to be sealed up to prevent fire coming in from another units as he used to be a firefighter. That also aligned with Randall the inspector told me during the home inspection. He also wrote the coil issue on the receipt of the HVAC inspection and it was available shortly after the inspection. Buying a house/townhome is very stressful and having a team of expertise was very helpful. I am so glad I found the right people to help with making an informed decision for such a huge purchase.
