I had one room that was 8-10 degrees hotter than every room in the house. It shared a wall with a second floor attic space that faced due east. Nothing we did could cool it down. Royal came out and checked the attic and said everything was good up there. He didn't try to sell me something he knew I didn't need. He looked at the attic space and came up with his best guess solution. He was very upfront that it was a best guess. He gave me a quote I thought was fair and I booked it. All attic showed up on time! After a brief conversation on areas of concern, they immediately began covering all areas in need. Unfortunately, they were interrupted by a storm and had to stop their work after just two hours. We made arrangements for them to come back two days later and they showed up on time and finished the work. We inspected all the areas before the new insulation was blown in, and again after they were finished. They did a great job, were respectful, and cleaned up, which is everything you can ask for in a service company. Last year 2019, I searched for attic insulation vendors on Yelp and other search engine and found many vendors I could work with. Upon interviewing 4 vendors I felt All Attic was the right fit. 1) price among 4 vendors, Robert's price was in the middle. I found some other better price but I felt our value were better aligned. 2) Value after the service, Robert appeared consistent and puncture when questions arose along the way. Robert was very knowledgeable about what works in Houston for attic insulation! Other companies tried to push cellulose that works better for keeping cold air out of the house not for keeping hot air out. Also, one has to consider that the humidity will affect cellulose more than fiberglass. While we didn't do the radiant barrier paint he recommended, we did have his team put R38 insulation and install an attic fan. Robert came by and gave me a very reasonable estimate without being pushing or trying to over-sell me. We really liked his demeanor and the price so we contracted All Attic Insulation to do the work - add radiant barrier, lots of insulation, attic tent, and wind turbines to a house that was built in the 1970s and is over 3000 sq. ft. - with little, very little, existing insulation. His crew arrived promptly and worked efficiently and professionally. They were done in one day. No mess was left anywhere - although beware there is a slight smell with the radiant barrier. That's normal and just needs to be aired out. Robert was super-responsive anytime I contacted him with a question both before and after the job was done - even returning my calls late in the evening (the only time I'm home) when he was probably off the clock. Despite the temperature being in the 90s that day (and needing to shut the AC off during the install), the house started feeling cooler almost immediately after the crew started working. The house is so much more temperate now. I'm so glad I asked them to come do an estimate because I thought this is a project I would never afford to get done.
