We had a great experience with Lone Star Chimney. They replaced our old chimney cap with a new custom cap, repaired several holes and deteriorating areas in the mortar, and did a much better job sealing the flashing around the base of the chimney. Everything looks much cleaner and more secure now. They did quality work, and we're very happy with how it turned out. I would definitely recommend Lone Star Chimney for chimney repairs and maintenance. read more

This company has a high rating on yelp which made me comfortable to work with them. But the quality of work is poor. They were transparent with cheaper versus higher quality options. The sales phase of this job went well. Unfortunately the craftsman ship was really bad. They installed new trim with jagged uneven edges with gaps at the roof line. The end product is disappointing. Update...the company kept their word and came out same week to correct their work. I am satisfied with the outcome. Saul and team took care of my every concern and were great to work with. Thank you! read more

Very misleading and dishonest. I was quoted $49 and told they'll provide a free estimate, but the technician came out and then quoted my parents $1,950, including $450 just for pressure washing. If the job was going to cost that much, it should have been communicated upfront. Oh and they also told me it'll be a free estimate when they come out here. They ended up asked my parents to pay. After they told them we were told it's a free estimate, the technician said he'll waive the fee this time! read more

I called Lone Star Chimney because my neighborhood association said the siding needed to be painted or replaced. They came on time, inspected it, and gave me a fair estimate. They also suggested that I replace another part so that I wouldn't have problems in the future, which I appreciated. I decided to have both things done. They arrived on time, were quick and efficient, and did a fantastic job. I would definitely recommend them. read more

I'm so impressed by the level of professionalism & expertise that took place with Ron from Lone Star chimney. After 3 years of being told by 4 different supposed experts that we needed to break the wall to address the wiring issues with our fireplace , Ron came in and did a full assessment and fixed our fireplace within less than an hour. His expertise saved us a tremendous amount of money. In addition, he walked me through safety protocol to keep in mind & long term usage! He was detail oriented in all aspects! I'm extremely happy to have fireplace back up & running after such a significant amount of time. read more

With last weekend's downpour, I had the unpleasant experience of water pouring in my living room through the chimney! Being Saturday night AND Easter weekend, I thought for sure I wouldn't be able to get anyone out quickly to check it out. Lo and behold, Val and Eli were at my house on Sunday to review what needs to be repaired! They provided quotes and had a crew out on Tuesday morning to fix the problem - before the next rainstorm could happen. Very thankful! read more

We were selling our house, and some items, including the chimney cap, needed to be addressed. I submitted a project through Yelp to request quotes. Lone Star (Eliyah) responded within 3 hours. He offered to come out and asked for pictures of the cap. After sending over the photos and a portion of the inspection report, he quickly provided a competitive quote without having to schedule time to come out to the house, which I appreciated due to the timing and the fact that we were no longer living there. The soonest he could come out was Tuesday, and it was Thursday when I reached out. Not too bad. The day before our appointment, I reached out to provide the address and asked if we needed to be there. In previous correspondence, he mentioned that he would let us know if there was anything else that needed to be addressed while he was up there, so during our phone conversation, I told him that it wouldn't be necessary since the inspector noted everything and we only agreed to the chimney cap. My original Yelp project said we needed it replaced, but the report actually said "repair and/or properly seal," so I mentioned that to Eliayah. With that in mind, he looked at the pictures again and determined that the cap could be repaired and sealed very well instead of being replaced entirely. The metal used for the cap was good quality; it just needed a little TLC. His honesty saved us some money, and knowing that what we had on the house was likely better quality than what is out there now made us feel better, and hopefully, the buyers will, too. Overall, Eliyah was a great to work with from start to finish. He sent a crew member out to the house on the day he said he would, and they took after pictures for us to provide to our realtor. Then, he sent us a link to pay the invoice. I highly recommend him and his company for your chimney repairs! read more

Hired these guys based on great Yelp reviews. My chimney was a mess. The cap was rusted out and the facia boards had dry rot. This caused a leak inside the wall which got the wood wet, and attracted carpenter ants. After waging war on the ants and winning for now, I figured I needed to get to the root cause, the leaky chimney. Val from Lone Star came out and surveyed the chimney and the fireplace. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He then sent me bids by email for exactly the services I wanted, which were fixing the chimney cap and fireplace, fixing the cap, or sealing off the cap. After reading some online forums it seemed best not to seal it off so heat and moisture could escape, but I wasn't ever going to use the fireplace in this friggin hot climate. So went for just fixing/replacing the cap. Set up a date, paid a deposit, and then Val and his great helper (whose name eludes me at the moment) showed up and started working on the chimney. Unfortunately, they had to stop because it started raining, so they covered the exposed chimney top, and said they'd reach out to finish the job as soon as possible. The cover they put on blew off after a while and the chimney stack was exposed to some rain, which in the grand scheme was probably not a huge deal. There was a bit of back and forth to get them back out, because all of their pending jobs had been pushed back due to the rain, but they did get back out to finish by the end of the week. In the pics you can see the before and after. Huge difference! Because I had a couple of days before they came back, I spray painted the top of the chimney white, to reflect heat. I also got them some spray paint to paint the new fascia board. They did an ok job on that. Bottom line, despite a few hiccups that were mostly unavoidable, they were personable, did great work, and the bid was very fair. I would definitely hire them again for any future chimney work. (I added a before and after pictures twice(!) but they don't seem to be attached to this review yet) read more

Heavy rain for a few days. Woke up to find rainwater flowing from my fireplace. I called Lone Star Chimney. Their technician came out the same day. He did a complete inspection and identified where the exterior grout had eroded and the bricks had cracked. (House was built in 1984.) The tech provided a reasonable estimate and set a date for the repair. He completed the work in one day. On time. Done right. Reasonable price! read more

Update 3: Lone Star Chimney is awesome! They came out evaluated the work of a previous tech and even after a year concurred with my concerns and refunded the amount paid for the painting of the fireplace. This has restored my faith in their integrity as a customer. Thank you to Edgar and Lone Star as well as the nice lady in their office that reached out initially. I am satisfied with the outcome and do recommend. Update to update: I received a call from Lone Star Chimney not long after my previous update. Edgar with Lone Star came out and was way more informative and concurred with some of my concerns. Their goal is to make things right and I appreciate this. He came, inspected and is working on the issue. I will continue to update. read more

Hired Lonestar to repair my chimney and redo the cap up top. After they completed that, I decided to purchase a new fireplace enclosure. The choices were beautiful so it was hard to choose, but I went with the textured black Colombia doors. I'm very pleased with the product, install, and most of all - the service. Val was a great technician and thoroughly explained everything he was doing. He didn't try to upsell me on anything that I didn't need. Glad I gave them my business! read more

I'm trying to rescend a negative review I placed here, because I evidently made a mistake in scheduling. A representative from this company came at the correct time on the day after I originally thought they were supposed to arrive. Evidently, I got on the wrong column on my phone calendar when I contacted them. He did a very thorough inspection of my fireplace and chimney and I have contracted with them to make repairs and put in a gas log system which I think will work better for us than just a regular fireplace would. When they are finished, I will do a more complete review. I'm very sorry for the initial mistake and for so quickly posting a negative review. Now I'm extra glad I reconsidered, because they showed up promptly to repair my chimney and fireplace and went right to work. They cleaned out the fireplace, and painted the inside, patching up any unsightly cracks and clearing all the creosote that had built up earlier. They also put a new cap on my chimney and sealed all the cracks in the crown, getting it back into ship-shape. Then they installed my new gas log system into the fireplace. We couldn't be happier. It looks fabulous, and even has glowing embers at the bottom, but no smoke, no ashes to clean out, and no flying embers. It is lit by a remote control. We are all thrilled, and hoping we have one more cold front so we can warm ourselves by the fire! The old firescreen was broken, so I need to find a new one. I put a photo below so you can see how great it looks. Best thing was they were finished quickly and left everything as neat as a pin. Thanks guys. read more

After the hurricane, I had a few chimney and roof problems and I decided to call a professional to help me out, lone star chimney was my choice due to their high rating and proper certification. ( the only company I called that had a certificate from a reliable source, in this case, the CSIA) After they diagnosed the problem they offered me 2 solutions. 1 - rebuild the chimney from the roof line and up 2 - repair the bricks, waterproof them, and coat them afterward. I decided to go with the second option and the result was amazing, they also repaired a little portion of my roof that was leaking, an overall great experience with this company. read more

Many thanks to Adi and his partner for quickly scheduling a chimney inspection for me and then completing the job ASAP. Adi is a great communicator, very friendly, and did a thorough job of explaining the work that needed to be done and why. Adi offered me a very reasonable quote and then was able to complete the job on the spot (a welcome surprise!). He took before and after pics of work on the roof since I was not going to climb up there to inspect it. Adi and his partner worked efficiently and made sure there were no debris/soot left when done. My chimney cap had to be installed later (not a common size). Adi showed up when he said he would and finished the job. I would highly recommend this company and Adi's work! read more
