He said we didn't need a lot of the "upsell" in the other quote. Ben showed me what he thought we needed versus not; he took a lot of pictures and sent them to me. He also added a couple of minor items to his quote at no charge. On the day, Pedro (technician, young guy, very sharp) called ahead to let me know that he and a helper (didn't get his name) were inbound. They got in and out quickly. Pedro showed me what they'd done and explained. He took lots of pictures and a couple of videos and sent them to me. Ben dropped by to check on things. I asked Pedro if Top Star also did HVAC work (our longtime guy retired). He said no but he'd send me a name. I've put them on my calendar for biennial (every two years) maintenance visits.

I read lots of amazing reviews on Mundae and requested a service. They were so responsive and talked me through the process. It wasn't long before someone came out to take several tests that consist of an air sample outside and inside and an actual sample of the mold, and a walk around to see if they spot more mold anywhere else. The report came back quick and scheduling of the mold remediation was quick. 3 workers were sent and it took half a day total since it was just our upstairs that needed it. Everyone we encountered was friendly, kind, and informative. Responsive whether it was text, phone call, or email. Appreciate the speediness in which the issue was resolved and felt very pleased with the service. Also I can report back that since then no more mold has appeared. I highly recommend them and have their info saved in case I need them in the future but honestly I hope I really don't.

I negotiated a cash price of $350 down from $450. I do not live in Houston so they sent a…read moresubcontractor to do the work through a website called Thumbtack. Samual was supposed to be on site between Noon and 2pm. He called to say was running a little late and would be about an hour and 15 minutes. He finally showed at 4:30. He did not lay tarps, used a non filtering shop vac that layered our kitchen and living room in soot, nearly shattered a glass tabletop with the rods connected to the brush, although he was quite pleasant while doing all this. I posted a review on Thumbtack about Brushers Chimneys service and it wasn't long after that they called me. The woman asked if I would at least change my 2 star rating to 4 stars. I explained that I do honest reviews of both good and bad service. She then said that Brushers would refund our money in the form of a check and now would I change my review. I explained that she was actually trying to purchase my integrity which won't ever happen, although, once I received the check I would modify my review to reflect this exchange. That refund was promised in November 2025. This is 12/31/25 and as yet no check has arrived. This should be a warning about those who will attempt to buy you with bait. I will do my best to post my experience with as many media outlets as I can. I posted to Thumbtack and Google. I suggest anyone considering Brushers to read the NEGATIVE reviews. There are plenty of them. I read what their service offered on Thumbtack. Nothing of the sort happened in our home. I HIGHLY recommend STAYING AWAY from this company that won't clean your chimney as can be seen by my photos posted on Thumbtack but, they will clean out your wallet and not honor their word. This is an update: After making this post I was contacted by Brushers Chimney. After some discussion I was assured that a refund would be forthcoming. The refund arrived on 1/8/2026. I submitted it to my bank 1/9/2026. Verified check cleared 1/10/2026. On 1/9/2026 I received a call from Brushers as they noted I had deposited the refund which was for the amount I paid for their service. There was no additional money added for my lost time and the inconvenience of the mess left behind although, they did offer to have someone come to clean up the mess. Naturally, my wife and I had pretty much tackled that job which I reiterated in earlier conversations. I had no intentions of waiting while soot covered everything in our living room and kitchen. I admit I was less than pleasant with the young lady when I received a call asking me to remove my reviews of them on the platforms I posted on. I'm at this time adjusting my review from 1 to 3 stars only because they finally sent the refund after multiple postings. I still do not recommend their services since I was informed that the individual that serviced us is, in fact, one of their trained employees and literally less than half of what is on the website of the service to be performed was actually done. Earlier I stated he was a subcontractor based on what he told me and the fact that he initially bumped the price $50 then lowered it after we spoke.

TakeAir was the only company that took several pictures of the vent and actual AC unit. Avi sat and talked with my husband and I about the problem, explained our options, and pricing, including warranties. They had the longest warranties for their services, which gave use the impression that they back their work. We scheduled with them on Thanksgiving (yes, they were available for us to contact with any questions). They came out Sunday and worked diligently from 10:30am-3pm. They covered our furniture and belongings to ensure that it wouldn't get dirty. They took our vents off and washed them, cleaned the boxes, intakes, ducts and unit. After washing, they sanitized and installed the UV light system to prevent the problem from occurring again. They cleaned up afterwards. The smell of our house is wonderful after they used their organic solution. We are extremely pleased from the initial call, schedule for quote, questions, schedule for job, and actual job. Highly recommend!!

After inspecting my dryer vent they said i needed a deep clean for $400. I booked a basic cleaning for $100 so i declined and told them just to do the basic cleaning as i wasnt expecting to spend $400. After they did the basic cleaning they said i was okay do use my dryer. When i went to use it, my clothes were very damp and it was worse than before i got it serviced. I called and booked another appointment to get it serviced again and i havent heard anything from them since. If you book with this company, dont expect punctuality, professionalism, clear communication, or a job well done. Very disappointing that businesses cannot take pride in their work, not everyone can afford to basically throw money away due to shiesty business owners.
