We wanted to repair our fireplace and make it functional after living in our house for four years. We reached out to Texas Chimney and Nadav sent us some pricing and options for our installation. We chose what we wanted via text and he scheduled a time to come out within just a few days. On the day of the appointment, he was on time and friendly. When he looked at everything, he suggested installing glass doors and I love how it elevates our fireplace. He did forget the grate for the logs to complete the fireplace (we are all human - we forget things - it's ok Nadav!) but got the fireplace up and running without it, as well as scheduled a time the next business day to come back (to install the grate and glass doors), before he left. I have a 50-year-old house. We have owned it for 11 years and rarely used the tired old fireplace. It had been converted to gas logs long before we bought the house. The fireplace looked dingy, and the damper did not seal well enough to keep drafts, lizards, or insects out. We rarely used it, so after a few years I sealed it up with fiber board and duct tape, planning to get it repaired at some time in the future. After the freezing weather we had this past winter, I noticed pieces of brick on the roof in the area of the fireplace. Inspection showed that the crown was seriously deteriorated. Reviewing websites, I found that Texas Chimney had received mainly excellent reviews, and I noted that the owner, Nadav Shoham, was very hands on and actually participated in much of the work. I called Texas Chimney on June 18, and Nadav came out that evening, and gave me a very reasonable proposal for cleaning and painting the fireplace, replacing the gas log system, rebuilding the crown, touching up and waterproofing the chimney brickwork, and installing a flue sealing damper which totally seals the chimney when the fireplace is not in use. Nadav and his team came out June 22 and accomplished all the work in about 5 hours. They did a great job, were very pleasant to work with, and cleaned up well when finished. The fireplace looks beautiful, and on a quick test firing - about all we could stand on a 90-degree Houston afternoon - it worked perfectly. I could not be more satisfied. I will highly recommend them to my friends. It's a rare pleasure to pick an unknown from the internet and have it work out so well. read more

My husband found this company and called them to come and check out our chimney this morning. They charged us $100 for a "Free Consultation", and I have the $107.17 charge to prove it. (and no, husband should not have given them the card number and walked away) We felt their quote was excessive so we won't be using them. On calling and inquiring about the charge for a "free estimate" they stated that they do NOT offer free estimates or consultations and that we are mistaken. They insisted that this was not stated on their Yelp page. (If anyone is interested I have the screenshots in case they've changed their page by the time this review posts) I realize honor is largely out of fashion these days, but I think it still matters. $100 isn't much, but as they say, it's the principle of the thing. I'm filing a chargeback with American Express and a complaint for misleading advertising with the BBB. Not recommended. read more

Called them due to fireplace not coming on and working properly. Was quoted $39 for them to come out to check it. They ran a vacuum cleaner inside, sprayed some black spray paint around the outside and sort of got it going. They told me the inside part was old and I may need to tap it or hit it to get it to come on (without replacing the inside burner piece.). End cost for this $235. I wrote to them expressing concern about what happened when the person came out and how $39 turned into $235 for NOTHING! NO RESPONSE or refund of any part of this money!! Fireplace never worked!
