His estimate was very reasonable and he was very honest with me and told me that my chimney was still mostly ok! He gave me the cheap option which would last for ten years or the expensive option but he recommended the former. I committed to it and we scheduled a date for him to come to my house. He was very prompt, and responsible throughout the entire repair and restoration. He really went the extra mile too and not only repaired my original valve (for free!) but he also did exceptional, beautiful work on the area around my chimney at the roof. I had a great experience with H-Town Chimneys. For the first time, a bird flew into my chimney. I needed help to safely remove the bird and wanted to keep birds and other animals out of my chimney in the future, so I called H-Town Chimneys. Jessica was very kind, patient, and helpful. I could easily see that Jessica truly cares about customers. Since it was early in the day Jessica set up an appointment for the same day. Jack came to my home and patiently answered all my questions. Jack measured my chimney and showed me on his cell phone what a replacement cap would look like. When Jack returned, he and Charlie gently removed the bird and took it outside to fly away. Then Jack and Charlie took great care to install the replacement cap securely. I bought this house two years ago and had H town Chimneys come out and repair our chimney. Jac-our Chimney technician- sealed all the cracks, replaced some material on the very top of the chimney, cleaned out the inside, and painted the fire box. We also purchased a new gas log system. Fast-forward some 20 months later, the gas log system stopped lighting. I put in a call to H town chimneys and within a day, Jac was back out and did a full inspection on the chimney and the gas logs automatic lighting system. As it turned out, it only needed new batteries. Jac did, however, inspect the entire chimney, inspected the gas log system, and replace the batteries. There was no charge for this visit! Arrived on time. Knowledgeable, professionable, clean, polite, did the work in a timely manner. They could have "up marketed me" but repaired my damaged fire box instead of trying to selling me something brand new, advised me the proper size fire that was adviseable for the size of the box, to be attentive when building the fire, and said if sweeping chimney once a year good to go for a long time. Chimney recap, had to wait for birds nesting in chimney to leave. Technician was very thorough in explaining chimney top needs and was able to use a metal cap that blew into my yard during last years Derecho storm as well as some bricks I had lying around. Very thorough summary and pictures provided at all stages of work. Cost was well within what I had researched. This is the second excellent experience with H-Town Chimney. They repaired the dormers on the roof by replacing rotted wood, applying silicone sealer, and repainting. They also repaired various issues with exterior siding. They evaluate the problem and determine the best solution. The estimate was reasonable and the repair was completed in less than one day!
