Neil, who came to give our quote, was knowledgeable and friendly and the guys who came to do the work were also super nice. They came on time, did a very thorough job and cleaned up after themselves well. Due to our house remodel, it's a challenge to get to places in our attic; Neil thought they might need to cut a hole in one of our closets to gain access to a certain area but when the guys came they actually found a way to access that area without making a mess in my closet. I so appreciate that, so thoughtful! What drew me to the company was the fact that they use natural cellulose instead of the nasty fiberglass insulation; SO much better for the planet and our personal space. We needed sound proofing between a bedroom and media room. We were advised they could surely help us out. Once the job was complete. The sound was still there. The sales person, was very knowledgeable however a bit forgetful. 1st forgot the initial visit, then a flat tire, then another missed appointment. Stretching the truth was an understatement. I would have liked to work with Payless but nothing went right with their service. #1: I called on a Wednesday to inquire about getting a quote. No one called back. I called again on Friday (2 days later) and was told they could not find any record of me calling but did have someone call me back to discuss what I was interested in. #2: I had someone come out to look at the attic. She took measurements and told me she would get me a quote. I never heard back from them again. I did not feel like following up on the quote because this would have been the second time I had to reach out to them for a response. They came out, late with an acceptable excuse. Looked at my job. Went back and sent me a quote,, however the footage was not right. In fact the quote listed 30% more square feet than what my job was. When I called the sales rep back and asked her to check her figures,, she kept telling me she would,, but never did. And never got back to me. After 5 days I said to heck with them. In other words my job was not worth their time unless they got more money. Yet she or they did not have enough respect to tell me they didn't want the job. Wanted 4 walls filled with Celbar to block out street and traffic noise due to a road behind my house. Salesperson, Susanna was very professinal and friendly and measured everything and gave suggestions. Install guys, Campos, Roberto and the young Cuban kid was very professional, courteous and protected all my floors and furniture w plastic. Though the salesperson did not open/test inside my walls and noticed I already had insulation in them, Campos and his crew knew how to work around this mistake, was honest that it may not fully work, but was able to fill the walls around my existing bad insulation. We've installed 902 sq ft R/44 (14.9"): the installers were prompt and CNO (clean, neat and organized). Payless Insulation recommended a cellulose insulation but our preference is blown in fiberglass. They were willing to work with any insulation. White blown in fiberglass brightens your attic space and has a proven track record. This could be a DIY project but Payless prices are comparatively very reasonable and results are sustantively attractive and should result in energy savings for your home. I'm damned impressed. We had to add extra insulation in the attic in our two-story home, to bring it up to code. Payless was able to come out just two days after I called, they did the job in about an hour, and they did stuff like wear booties on their shoes, cover the wooden floor and staircase with drop cloths (secured with painter's tape) to protect our marble and wood flooring from scratches, etc. They also advised me to cover the recessed lights with these foil hats (protectors), which were a little extra, but they still gave me a discount. It is rare that I am impressed with a services company, especially when dealing with something as messy as blown insulation, but Payless did a SPECTACULAR job! Oh, I almost forgot that Raul (one of the two Payless employees) even helped me pull all of the empty boxes I had stored in my attic! Double-thumbs up! read more

We used Payless for our house in Austin - sealed the walls with blown-in insulation. The crew was great and the results were better than expected! Along with our new thermal windows, we pay an average of $150 in heating/cooling costs per month. We just purchased a rental home and had Payless remove (vacuum) all the old insulation from the attic. It had a strong smell and looked terrible. This was such a great idea - now the electricians and HVAC contractors have a clean, open space to work and they can make sure all is well. When they are done, we will have Payless refill the attic and once again, spray insulation in the walls. Would not use any other insulation company in Austin.
