tl;dr Very disappointed given the great reviews. It sounds like Daniel is great, but has had a lot of difficulties scaling his business. There was general dishonesty about the price and sloppy workmanship from Nick and his partner. I have incomplete work that will cost me more time and money for someone else to do. Here's what happened: I texted Daniel a list of items I needed done in my house. He said he would have someone contact me immediately, which they did, so far so good. I went over my list of things that needed done: - floor trim (7 transition areas) - finishing baseboards (2-3 small areas) - drywall patching from moving electrical - rangehood installation and microwave removal - kitchen cabinet trim (5 straight lines, approx 30ft) - trim on 2 doors Separately I wanted a backspash installed, but we did not agree to do this within the initial scope of work, which is fine. For the above work, minus the backspash, I was quoted $480. Keep in mind, I had most of the supplies. I sent a message confirming all of this after Nick had come to my house. An hour after leaving, he sends me a text and says that after thinking about it, the molding for the cabinets is very expensive and needs an extra $120. Since that sounded far too expensive, and after going back and forth, we decided that I would buy all necessary materials, and he would charge me $400 for the labor. Even better, since the extra trim came out to about $80, not the $120 he said it would cost for extra materials. One unforeseen thing that happened was there was more damage to my kitchen island than originally thought. So, we discussed it, and Nick said to add an extra $50 to the total price, to which I agreed. After a delay of almost a week because Nick's partner had to go to Miami for family (understandably these things happen), the work started. Nick and his partner would spend a couple hours each night working on the projects until they were finished, again, totally fine. On the second time being here, however, Nick and his partner started trying to take shortcuts. - They chipped a transition and only tried to patch it - The center island drywall was cut so the baseboard went inside the drywall, and the drywall was shaved off - They didn't want to paint the cabinet trim with the paint matched color, they wanted to use spray paint, which wouldn't match Then, Nick asked if I could paint the kitchen island and trim, complaining that the job was costing them too much. Again keep in mind that I have paid for 98% consumable supplies up to this point. They only brought themselves, their tools, and a bit of drywall left over from another job. They continued to ask me to buy more things. Which is fine, I agreed to pay for the supplies. I'm totally fine paying more for work that was outside the scope of the original agreement. The island, for example. However, Nick started asking for more money for the same work. I would also understand if more work was uncovered along the way, but this was the same work that was agreed on at the beginning that was getting more and more expensive. He also wanted me to do some of the work he had said he would do in the first place. To me, this is unacceptable. So now I have unfinished and damaged pieces. - The aforementioned transition (damaged) - Uninstalled floor (transition) trim - Uninstalled Rangehood - Uninstalled cabinet trim - Uninstalled baseboards - Unfinished/unpainted kitchen island - Unpainted door trim read more

Happened to stumble across this company when searching for a local handyman company to patch up some holes throughout my apartment for my final walkthrough. I had consulted with a few different companies prior to contacting My Handyman Group, but after giving me an estimate, all of them were very inflexible and couldn't do the work by the time I needed it to be done. I called My Handyman Group, and I believe I spoke to the owner himself. I really appreciated the fact that the owner takes all phonecalls himself, it made me feel that there is a great sense of care behind their work. After speaking to the gentleman on the phone and telling him I needed someone ASAP, he immediately put things in motion. I receive a phone call from the handyman not 10 minutes later, telling me he could be at my apartment to give me a free estimate within the hour! Wow! That was exactly what I wanted to hear, seen as though the following day was my walkthrough! We set up a time, and we are ready to go! The handyman, Nick, comes to my place, super professional and knowledgeable and discusses everything that will need to be done, which was A LOT! Although it was just small nail holes, and some larger holes to patch up, it was still a lot of work! After assessing all the work necessary, he tells me that if I agreed with the price, he could start immediately! Wow! That was great news!! After receiving other estimates, I knew the ballpark of the amount of money I was looking at (which was a lot!). After estimating all the work he would have to do, the owner and Nick discussed a price for me, which was super fair and came way below my expected amount!! Within the hour, Nick, had all the materials he needed to perform the work. He worked very neatly and was super attentive to all the details, as if he was working on his own home. He made sure everything was covered up so that none of the paint would get anywhere on my carpet, etc. He worked from morning to night, straight through (all but the time he needed for the mud to dry). He really put his heart into this job! End of story, we received our deposit back the next day, and we are now all moved into our new house! Woo hoo! This company has definitely earned not only my trust, but above and beyond my future business. Once we need any type of work done, we will be contacting My Handyman Group!! Thank you My Handyman Group for the wonderful work!! read more

Daniel is the best! We just purchased our first home and needed to get all the electrical outlets replaced (including GFIs) and Daniel handled it all on his own. He was reliable, punctual, and reasonably priced! Daniel did such a great (and was extremely fast) we had him do additional projects for us: ceiling fan installation, TV mounting, light fixtures, curtain rod installation, dishwasher air gap issues. He also has colleagues he works with on his team that can do anything that he can't, we used some of them for bathroom plumbing issues & exterior painting. By far the most honest, professional, and friendly Handyman around!!! read more

He responded quickly to my phone call and came right out. He did not have the part on hand so he had to go to Home Depot. The service was good, but I do have one complaint. He quoted me $150 and said parts was included but when you got to the store he called me and said that the price was going to be $200 because the part that my fuse required was more than he expected. He should not quote a price if it is going to fluctuate. This review is for previous work. Sorry for the delay. read more

My husband and I are not quite the handy people we wished we are. Now that's where Daniel is a heaven sent! We just moved in to a new house and have tons of paintings to put up along with some curtain rods and bidets for our bathroom. Daniel quoted us a price that was over our budget but he was willing to negotiate. And that was the best money spent! No headaches, no worries. Daniel took care of everything. Daniel and his coworker were meticulous and got the job done perfectly! I foresee us calling Daniel again sometime soon for any little jobs around the house! read more

Called Daniel yesterday to replace a chandelier and level a fan. He came today. He was unable to level the fan mostly because of the fan's extreme height. The chandelier replacement...not a problem. It didn't take long and it was done right. It looks beautiful and I am totally pleased. I would not hesitate to call on My Handyman Group again. read more

I broke my faucet today 5 minutes before I had to go to work, spraying water on my ceiling and counter and my wife staring at me with an angry glare; what a way to start the day, right?! Thank god for Daniel! Not only did he fix the faucet and come over right away he helped my wife fix our shaking sink as the contractors we hired before to install it did a poor job. Since my wife bought the wrong type of faucet he was willing to go the extra mile and take her to the local Lowes and help her purchase the correct faucet and sink sealant. Going the extra mile is what sets him apart. If you are looking for a fair price with prompt, fast, courteous service done the right way then he's your guy. read more

This is my first home I own (not rent) and first time I had to call a handyman to fix some cabinets due to water damage. Great experience, fast response and caring handyman that found solutions for me quickly - the same day! He came to take a look at the project, gave me the price in advance, went to Home Depot and had my issue resolved within 2-3 hours! I will be calling this company in the future for other home projects!!!! So impressed! read more

Great job! When we called we got friendly response and he was was flexible around our odd hours. Was happy to work with our unusual ideas around the house. Overall 5 starts! read more

Saw that the Yelp reviews were very good, so I called to have some inoperable kitchen outlets looked at. Daniel arrived and replaced two ground fault interrupters at a very reasonable rate. He was unable to restore power so he called in a senior electrician. Later the senior guy arrived, Maurice(Banda LLC).He spent about twenty-five minutes fiddling with the outlets and had power restored. For this he charged $250.00! If $10 a minute is your idea of reasonable electrician rates then these are your guys! My advice is to seek someone more reputable. Yelpers, please consider this an addendum to my above review. Daniel was so concerned that he stopped by to correct any insufficiencies. He said that the other electrician was not an employee of his but merely a referral. A referral I don't believe he'll be using again. All of Daniel's work was efficient and professional. My confidence in him is such that I have engaged him to do further work in my home. This man has great integrity and pride in his business and reputation. read more

Needed some help with my GFI outlets, and came across My Handyman Group who had a lot of good reviews. I contacted Daniel who immediately responded, and did a great job at a very fair price. Daniel removed and replaced light fixtures with pendant lights. Really nice guy who does quality work. I didn't have all the peices I needed and he made some suggestions and darn it worked. He was on time and spent about 15-20minutes for the job. I also shopped around and he was very reasonably priced. Thanks Daniel read more

Absolute nightmare and completely unreliable! So I called Daniel and told him about the job description with photos and all the details at about 10am. He told me it would be no problem and he would be there at 1:30 PM. When 1:30 came around he then told me that he's going to be late by about an hour. I said no problem! He didn't call after an hour and I had to text him asking where he was at? He then says I'm sorry I won't be there until about 3:30, I said OK, then he doesn't show up so I called again and he said he could come at 4:30 finally at 4:45 he calls and says he probably can't make it but he would have someone one else will call me. After giving the job description for the second time with photos, the woman on the phone tells me her price is $500 and didn't even look at the my condo, which was about a 3 to 4 hour job. I know because I have vacation rentals and many other properties in Vegas, so I'm not a newbie. I explained to her I owned dozens of properties since I started in 2010 and know for a fact this pricing was unreasonable! I provided photos and details of work and again specified it was a 3 to 4 hour job and they never set a foot into the condo to give an accurate estimate! To top it off she was extremely rude and proceeded to degrade me, About how I know nothing about my business. I find it shocking that someone could give me a verbal quote without having step foot on the property and be as rude and degrading as she was! I was so upset I simply just hung up on her! Think twice on finding a handyman here! read more

My mother lives in Las Vegas and called me because all her smoke alarms were going off and would not stop. We walked her through a few steps but nothing was working. Being 4 hours away, I went to Yelp to find someone to assist her. This is where I found Daniel. Being a holiday, I wasn't too hopeful to find someone who could come out but Daniel said he could be there in 45 minutes. We all know how annoying smoke alarms can be with the beeping but when all are screaming, it's just too much. Even her dog was losing it. Daniel arrived, worked on all the detectors and was able to end the noise. He was polite and courteous. My mom was VERY happy. She even asked for me to write in a compliment for Daniel. Per her request she wants all to know that her dog has never liked any person that has been there to work on her house. Always barking at the person, but with Daniel, she did not bark once and was relaxed. So if you are the type of person that believes your dog can read people better then you, then know Daisy gave her paw of approval. I can not thank you enough for helping my mom now and with future needs. Sincerely, Stacy read more

My Handyman Group did a great job! I came across an ad for them on yelp, so I called. I was worried about some water damage under my sink. After doing some research on contractors, we decided to do business with Handy Man Group to renovate a 9x5 ft bathroom (a simple removal of existing tub and replaced with walk-in shower, including replacement of flooring, accessories/fixtures, etc - nothing fancy). They started June 21 afternoon, because the agreement was that they will work afternoons only beginning at 3:30 PM (since they are working on some project in the mornings) and full days one weekend, to finish the project on time. That was fine. On the 1st day - demolition day - they came at 3:30; thereafter, they came without regularity: sometimes 4pm, 5:30pm, 6pm, 8pm - always with an excuse like having been called to service an emergency, etc. The project was finally completed on July 1st - or so we thought! Since they do not install the shower glass door - we called in another contractor - who pointed out that the barrier (between the shower floor and the bathroom floor) was not level and needed to be repaired before the glass doors could be installed. Plus, the caulking was poorly done and needed repair as well. We called the handyman assigned to us who said he will fix it one night. Indeed, he came at 10PM!!!! Who works at 10PM??? We accommodated the handyman just so we can get this project over and done with. It took 2 evenings to finally level a small piece of tile and improve the caulking. We thought we are finally done! The next day, we tested the shower handle they installed. IT CAME OFF, because the required screw was not put in place. Really??? We contacted the handyman assigned to us and he said he will fix the problem. TO THIS DAY, he never did. Never called/never sent any message that he can/cannot fix it for whatever reason. We had to buy a new set of shower handle to fix the problem. In fairness to the handyman assigned to us, he was not the one who did the tile nor installed the shower handle - but he was his hire, hence, his responsibility. As for the quality of the work - well, you get what you pay for! NOTE: If you wish to deal with this company because you like their estimate, just be forewarned that you will need TONS OF PATIENCE as your project will move along their timeline, not yours! POSTSCRIPT: Daniel who owns My Handyman Group replied: "This is a mistake. I never did for you any jod." Our reply: Was it a mistake that we have your company's signed contract and a debit transaction showing we paid your company for a JOB your people did? read more

Update - I had Daniel come back 2 more times - once to change out my kitchen faucet, replace 2 light fixtures, hang some pictures, and a few other odd jobs, and the second time, to install a new oven, stove, and microwave. He did such a great job, he is now my go to guy for any work I need done around my house. He is also super nice. Thank you so much Daniel!! read more

Daniel from the Handy Man Group was a gift from the gods! Our restroom fan/light combo in our shop was defective and making a most annoying sound when turned on. I had called other services and not one wanted to even come out and take a look. The Handy Man Group had excellent reviews so I called Daniel and was so happy I did as he came out to our location within a few hours, assessed what needed to be done, went to Home Depot and got the fan with the light combo(!) and had it installed and working in about 90 minutes! I will call upon Daniel for any further needs in our shop AND use him for my personal home repairs as well. I am very pleased with Daniel and have no hesitation to highly recommend him to others.
