We have American Homeshield and of course they couldn't get anyone to come out right away, not to mention- most of their service companies are not the greatest. Very responsive, and surprisingly affordable. Found them after the electrician that my home warranty company sent was of no use. The fluorescent lighting in my laundry room went out, and tried to replace them with LED bulbs, and it was still having the same flickering problem. The electrician from the home warranty company just said that LED fluorescents weren't compatible with my light fixture, and to replace it back with standard fluorescents. Didn't really go in and do anything at all. Changed the lightbulbs again, and it was still having the same issue. Since it was out of the scope of the home warranty contract, they couldn't fix the root of the issue. Then I found Central Power on Yelp. Called them around 12:30, sent them my address, and they were here after 2 PM. Was amazed that they came the same day. They replaced the ballast in the light fixture in less than 30 minutes. Was surprised how affordable the service was. Could've saved some money if I just booked directly with them instead of hiring some sketchy electrician through the home warranty. But now I know. Still venting... I filed a claim with my home warranty company and Central Power LLC (CP LLC) was sent to my home. Told me that the electrical box was not wired properly. Provided me with a verbal quote that would cost me $500 to fix the wiring for the AC and for the re-wiring to the mini-split, he guessed that it would cost upwards of $5,000. Almost had a heart attack. He updated my warranty claim and it was rejected by my home warranty. So, I had to pay this myself. No problem with this since it was not originally wired properly by the original AC/Electrician guy in 2010. Which is correct. Fortunately, I reached out to 2 other Electricians independently and both told me that Central Power LLC was wrong. Both electicians stated that Central Power LLC guy probably didn't check the the ampage. And, CP LLC gave a quote in the ridiculous range... They laughed about it... The ampage for my current wire is 60 amps. The AC takes 30 amps and the mini-split takes 18. Hence, they used only 48. They installed one box with two breakers 40/20 split. It cost me only $690. Glad I didn't call Central Power LLC. It would have cost me over $5,000.. Would not recommend. read more
