The delta combo catfish and lobster Mac and collard greens

I hate leaving very disappointed bad reviews but this place is just not it. Firstly ordered on DoorDash and They forgot my peach cobbler WHICH IS $10!!!! I'm Australian/ British and fish and chips is "fries" not these chips. Disappointment 1. I Don't like "chips" Secondly the fish was so over cooked or old it wasn't edible. Had to throw away my meal and didn't even get my dessert. Look at the fish THATS INSANE. I'm sorry but this is an abomination.

    "Lobster Mac"

I placed an order for the Delta fish combo, which comes with two fillets of fish and two sides. Instead, I got one fillet of fish cut in half. And the two sides I received were greens and yams. The yams are good, but the greens are spicy, salty and full of stems. I ordered a side of the lobster mac & cheese and hush puppies. The lobster Mac was dry AF with imitation lobster/crab. I asked for tartar sauce and received none. The hush puppies were dry and burnt as well. Except for the yams, everything tasted like bottom of the barrel. Especially the macaroni and cheese. Even the pasta was dried and hard to chew. All side portions were tiny tiny. The way they package the sides, make the fish soggy and all juices spilled inside the container and outside of the container into the bag. Yes my yams had green juice in them. I'm so disappointed. Last, but not least everything was stale and cold. Not delivery cold, more like, was cooked hours ago cold. We have to do better!!!!!!! I feel like I could legitimate get food poisoning from this order.

The Delta (Fried Catfish with two sides of My Fries)

I ordered 'The Delta' with two sides of fries. I'm not sure if this is the standard portion size but I highly doubt I will be back. The size of the filets depicted on the website DO NOT match what you receive.

So went there today a few minutes ago and this is what I got. Shrimp Po boy for 13.51 and lobster Mac and cheese for 4.59. Way way way too much pepper on shrimp, way way way too much pepper on lobster Mac and cheese for which incidentally was spicy and not a piece of lobster, not even a tiny piece was found. Since when do you dump the pepper shaker on the shrimp and Mac and cheese. I don't recall ever, ever reaching for the pepper for mack and cheese and it was way spicy too. Should have been cream and cheese not take like a pepper mill. Who would have thought that could get ruined too. The guy brought me the PO boy and I was in shock a piece of bread with some fried shrimp dowsed in pepper. See the pictures to understand the disappointment. I got a 1/2 a refund after I complained to the 2nd guy that walked in. He said they ran out of coleslaw, and that's why my sandwich looked like that. Told him the other guy didn't tell me that. I wouldn't have gotten it. As I am leaving the guy who made my sandwich went outside to eat his perfectly cooked meal as I got 11.00 back for a meal that went in the trash. Epic fail in preparation, presentation, and customer service. Should have gotten a full refund for the prison food.

We ordered the fried fish from this place. The food looked okay, but wife and I got stomachache after eating. Not coming back!

The Yankee - catfish, shrimp, fries and hush puppies
    Dana M.

I've been hearing good things about this place so I decided to give it a try. I didn't really care for the catfish, it was a bit fishy and under seasoned. BUT...... the shrimp and hush puppies was delicious and seasoned to perfection! I highly recommend the lobster Mac and cheese as well. I would definitely order from this place again, but I will skip the catfish next time.

Sherman Oaks is gritty and the section of Ventura Boulevard that houses TLP is almost brutalist in its anti-establishment aesthetic. You would never know it was here if you didn't either live in the neighborhood or seek it out as I did. It is sandwiched between a completely non-descript place that I didn't even look at and a crystals shop with grafitti-etched windows (unfortunately!) but some really cool beads. Inside is the same -- no frills, a dress-down and survive-if-you-dare vibe. My pictures will illustrate what I mean. Nevertheless, the friendly service (shout out to our server, Patrick), the menu, and the quality of the food are well worth it. Again, see what we ordered in the photos attached. Everything was delicious. The floor, tables, and chairs were all clean. There is some kind of post-apocalypse rhumba going on with the ceiling treatment. It is almost reverse-logic art with all the shading (stains? velour movement?) and utilitarian installation it reveals. Love the walls though, and the worn distressed wood everywhere (see the pix, folks). A bonus was watching the Masters (Patrick let us linger) and sitting by a giant window that was open to the street. Parking is up a block or so on either side. We always find safe spots in Sherman Oaks. The music seemed to be one CD of an unknown (to me) vocal artist and was pleasant. The crowd was friendly and the whole atmosphere was like one big homey grunge party. You know those mornings you fall out of bed and almost don't want to change out of your pajamas or yoga threds? This is the place to go. I loved it. (NOTE: You may have to refresh this page twice to see my pictures, for some reason. grrrrrr)
