Very unhappy. First, I could not tell if they were open. When I walked up to the door it was locked but you can tell they were opened because the table and chairs were set up outside. The sign on the door doesn't tell you what time they're opened but is definitely tells you what time they close. I ordered the buy by the pound snapper for $18 and got one piece of fish that I know didn't weigh a pound. On top of that, the fish was cooked so hard to the point it was almost burnt. I could only eat half of my one piece of fish. I also ordered the catfish plate. The catfish was cut into small pieces and fried so hard it tasted like I was eating fried fish skin. I go for the fried fish. It is cooked southern style, heavy on the yellow corn meal. It makes it so crispy and delicious. The seafood is always fresh and the service always accommodating. I placed an order for the Delta fish combo, which comes with two fillets of fish and two sides. Instead, I got one fillet of fish cut in half. And the two sides I received were greens and yams. The yams are good, but the greens are spicy, salty and full of stems. I ordered a side of the lobster mac & cheese and hush puppies. The lobster Mac was dry AF with imitation lobster/crab. I asked for tartar sauce and received none. The hush puppies were dry and burnt as well. Except for the yams, everything tasted like bottom of the barrel. Especially the macaroni and cheese. Even the pasta was dried and hard to chew. All side portions were tiny tiny. The way they package the sides, make the fish soggy and all juices spilled inside the container and outside of the container into the bag. Yes my yams had green juice in them. I'm so disappointed. So went there today a few minutes ago and this is what I got. Shrimp Po boy for 13.51 and lobster Mac and cheese for 4.59. Way way way too much pepper on shrimp, way way way too much pepper on lobster Mac and cheese for which incidentally was spicy and not a piece of lobster, not even a tiny piece was found. Since when do you dump the pepper shaker on the shrimp and Mac and cheese. I don't recall ever, ever reaching for the pepper for mack and cheese and it was way spicy too. Should have been cream and cheese not take like a pepper mill. Who would have thought that could get ruined too. The guy brought me the PO boy and I was in shock a piece of bread with some fried shrimp dowsed in pepper. See the pictures to understand the disappointment. I got a 1/2 a refund after I complained to the 2nd guy that walked in. He said they ran out of coleslaw, and that's why my sandwich looked like that. Told him the other guy didn't tell me that. I wouldn't have gotten it. As I am leaving the guy who made my sandwich went outside to eat his perfectly cooked meal as I got 11.00 back for a meal that went in the trash. I really hate to do this because I've had so many good meals here via DoorDash and you can see my rave from 2018. I order the Delta usually - two filets, two sides. Last time I ordered it was one filet and no tartar sauce, which I always ask for. Okay, I let it go and ordered the same thing a few days later and everything was fine. Tonight, they were doing a BOGO (Buy One, Get One), so I ordered the fried chicken breast thing (more like tenders) - two of them arrived in short order only they weren't fried chicken breast they were mozzarella sticks. Sorry, that kind of switcheroo requires that you call the customer or you have DoorDash call. I'm not doing dairy and there was no way I was eating a pound of cheese. Just completely unacceptable. My family took my out for lunch and we visited My Fish Shop in Sherman Oaks. The owner was working this day, seemed like a great guy and provided recommendations for us to try. The restaurant Is Black owned and had been around a couple of years. We pulled right in front to park. It was beautiful weather so we ate outside. I get seafood is not super cheap, but the prices did seen a little high for what we got. Fish was okay. I think my expectations were searching for a more elevated experience. Just a little too much fried food, and that's my fault. I feel like maybe we came in on an off moment. The owner is very friendly and gives back to his community and that's always a great thing! We had the cod and the shrimp with hush puppies, lobster Mac and cheese and fries. We let Harris, the owner and chef, cook it the way he wanted. Mississippi style. Very tasty. Even though it was fried, it's not like any fried fish or shrimp that I've ever had. It was light and the cod was fluffy. Only suggestion I have is to maybe include more cod in the meal. It was suppose to be 1 lbs catfish nuggets, 1 fish filet (red snapper), 4 shrimp and 2 sides. Was told the order would be ready in 25 minutes. I live 5 mins away... On my way to pick up order, I got a call from the restaurant asking me if I was gonna come pick up my food... it's been ready and waiting for me. I told them the online order said 25 mins (it had only been 20 mins at this point...) but I was on my way. The worker said the food had been sitting and asked if she should make it again. I said yes and Thank you! When I got there (2 mins later) she said the owner told her she could NOT remake the order. NO ONE was in the place. My order had been sitting soooo long there was condensation in the bag. My FAMILY MEAL was served in a single serving individual meal clam shell. There was barely enough of the sides to feed 1 person BUT we couldn't even eat them bc the Lobster mac and cheese didn't have any cheese or lobster to been seen, it smelled FISHY and the pasta was dried out and hard like it had been sitting under a heat lamp allll day. The candied yams were actually mashed sweet potatoes (not a whole yam or piece of yam in sight...) and they look dried out like they were scraped from the bottom of the pan that had been sitting under heat lamps all day too. The catfish nuggests were WET, like they had NOT been fried all the was done and my filet was broken so it wasn't actually a whole filet either. We were sooooooo disappointed. Let's not do things halfway and then charge a fortune. I really do try to support businesses like this-but when you get a subpar product, then you decide to go elsewhere. I didn't know this was the same place. Had I known... Try it at least once. The food is good. I am just irritated at the amount of food when I could have gotten full with half the price elsewhere. Best salmon I have ever had in my entire life. It's hard to even decide which side to get because of how good they all are. I would recommend the lobster Mac and the yams, however I truly believe you cannot go wrong with anything you order here. They were out of salmon once when I went there and I had something else. We were wanting fish and chips and found My Fish Stop which is a Cajun fish shop where you buy it, they'll fry it. They come with home made potato chips (not fries) that were made to perfection with a little Cajun spice. Yum! We chose cod for our fish (catfish & snapper also available). The fish was excellent, lightly breaded, cooked to perfection, not greasy either. Good prices. We'll be back! Got more stuff to try. read more

Oh yeah, the man in the back was getting down frying all that good food.. I ended up ordering the Red Snapper dinner with potato crack chips, yams and collard greens. OH MY, I was blown away by the way everything tasted and the portions were very fair. The fish tasted like something I would drive down to Los Angeles for, but not anymore, they forsure won me over big time with the fish it was fried perfectly and not soggy with breading falling apart, nope not here, these people know what they are doing and how to do it. Now on to my yams, haven't had any like this from outside of home, and her yams were just like my mama makes them (should of gotten more). My collard greens were perfectly seasoned with the perfect amount of spice to them (and I'm picky with greens) they were every tender.. Overall I'll be back indeed, they won me over, she even came outside to dining area where you wait for food and brought it out to me, and we even had a lil chit chat for a sec, she's a sweetheart! I lived in Mississippi for a few years, and this is definitely My Fish Stop. During COVID, place your order online and give yourself ample time to come pick it up, especially on Friday. The wait can be long, but it's worth it. I usually get The Yankee (1 fillet + 4 shrimps + 2 sides) and the Delta (2 catfish fillets + 2 sides). For the fillet, I've tried both the seared cod and the snapper. I usually get cod fried, but wow, the cod here is pretty good. It's an extra $2 to sear, but again, worth it. You can't go wrong with the sides. I've tried the hush puppies (usually bland at this other spot I go to, but these were so flavorful), fries (seasoned), lobster mac & cheese, collard greens, and candied yams. I would get any of these again, and I don't know if I could try any of the other sides because I don't want to pass up on these. Don't forget to get the peach cobbler, too. This is a decent spot on the back of Van Nuys and Burbank. Restaurant is well kept and clean. We went there for lunch and no line or crowd. The owner was friendly.
