With having a background in the food industry, I hope management can remind staff and one another, to follow basic precautions (like masking when ill or stepping away) so customers don't have to worry. I understand businesses have policies, but the way the situation was handled felt unnecessarily confrontational, especially considering the drink was for a toddler and we had already spent nearly $70 at the restaurant. Over the years I've probably ordered more sandwiches here than I can count, and lately I've been making it my mission to work through their vegan menu one sandwich at a time. The thing I appreciate most is that Ike's doesn't treat vegan options like an afterthought. They have an entire lineup of creative sandwiches that all bring something different to the table. Some of my favorites so far have been the Meatless Mike, Handsome Owl, Pee-Wee, Vegan Bonnie Jill, and Vegan Mary Ashley. Every time I think I've found my favorite, another sandwich surprises me. The Sherman Oaks team is always welcoming, the food is consistently fresh, and the menu keeps me coming back. It's one of those places that's become part of my LA story. If you're vegan, start exploring the menu. You'll probably find a favorite of your own.
