The acetone peeled off the embossing on my watch.
    Leslie W.

This is so unfortunate, but I will move forward in reporting what happened this past Sunday. Let me start with what went well--I have been to this salon approximately three times and have had good experiences before. There has never been an issue with products, service or staff...until my last visit. My old set of nails needed to be removed, so the tech did a standard procedure which was to soak them to expedite the removal. I asked her directly and clearly if my watch was going to be ok and she said yes so I put my nails in the cotton/liquid/plastic bag/bowl. To be honest I never have known what the liquid is, but it turns out it is acetone. Perhaps this is common knowledge, but I never thought about it. Well some of it got on to the band of my watch and it peeled off a coating that was on top of the leather band. The official nomenclature of this piece is called "Versace Greca Logo Mini Black" VEZ100221. MSRP $1,245. I have owned it for six months. Ok. I did not notice the damage until I got home. I then called the salon and told them what happened. I talked to Tam and she asked me to come back to the salon so they can look at it. I go back up there--bringing all documents, receipts, boxes, ownership papers and warranty cards that shows I own the watch-- and speak with Tam and another employee who I am assuming is the acting manager. They were both apologetic, however that's where it ends. Tam tells me there is no way to tell when the damage happened and they (I am paraphrasing) have no liability. She is not wrong, but this is not helpful. The manager looks at my watch and says "That's not even real leather!" Um, what? Yes, it is real leather, but the embossing on top is not. This was insulting to my character and to my critical thinking. What was she implying? That a watch with a real leather band wouldn't have gotten damaged in acetone? It was very condecending. Tam also said the tech may not have understood my question about the watch because she does not speak English. Tam suggested that we take pictures of the damage of the watch and send them to the owner of the salon and see how he would like to handle this matter. I agreed to this plan and left. In the meantime I called the Versace store in the Galleria in Houston only to find out that any replacement bands have to be ordered directly from Switzerland and the delivery time can be as long as four months. There is no way around this. At all. I waited three days for the owner to call me and nothing happened. I called the salon and asked Tam if he intended on doing so, and she said no "he doesn't really do that." I thought that's what we were taking the pictures for? He wouldn't even discuss the matter with me. So not only do I have a luxury watch that is damaged, I have been completely dismissed by the staff and the owner. In good faith I must report that he offered to give me a free set of dip nails, but I am so insulted by the way I was treated that I will pass on his generous offer and go to a different salon. I certainly will be more careful in the future to be more mindful with my jewelry. I admit that I do have some responsibility here, but being marginalized is bad business and the owner was wrong for that. My gut feeling is that it may be an industry-wide problem that salons such as these are often targeted by people who are looking to rip them off, and therefore they are skeptical of customers making claims like I did. This is understandable. At the same time, I am a combat veteran, hold a bachelors degree and while there is usually no need to announce these things , I am not used to being brushed off. Do they think I am fabricating this for gain or do they mostly believe me and just don't care? Again, this situation is unfortunate. Live and learn.

I almost never go anywhere else for my nails except for Westfield, for the fear of it turning out bad, but I'm glad I got to experience going somewhere different for once. Their service here was absolutely amazing, they were very helpful and very sweet. The lady who did my set was very careful and precise with my nails. I do recommend this place to anyone who wants to get their nails. However if you're the type of person who worries about every single detail like me, I would rethink the design and not get gems on them or things on top for they may fall off. Since just a day after, I've lost some flowers already, but they still look very good and I am very happy with my nails.

This was the first time KGB 101 was having a DSC (Dave, Shelly, & Chainsaw) Ladies Night. Our group of 4 were the first ladies in line for the event. We were strategically planning which booths to visit AFTER we enjoyed complimentary bites! This is where I went wrong... AHN was the only Brow/ Makeup booth. The event was from 7- 10pm. I waited in line for an hour & fifteen minutes. And my turn came at 9:30pm. Now, let me give you a rundown on my caterpillars. I had microblading done literally one year ago. And, as we know- this is not a permanent treatment. My blading strokes were fading. Since I knew there was a brow booth for Ladies Night- I didn't bother to do jack shit to my brows. I could've easily been mistaken for the Yeti's cousin. When it's my turn, I lay down on AHN's table & she adjusts her light to take a look at my brows. She asks politely, "What's goin on here?" I give her the rundown of my microblading & how I don't bother getting them waxed at the nail salons- because they usually end up having my brows look like a chola. We laugh about our chola days. She commented how the microblading gave my brows a different shape than what she'd think would look. I tell AHN, I'm open to suggestions. As she preps my brows- she leans in & politely says," At least, tweeze your fucken brows". I died laughing! Within 15 minutes- she transformed my brows w- makeup & waxing, and eyebrow trimming. My jaw dropped! Yes, it was worth the hour plus wait! Even though it's a mini expo, per se- I had to tip $15!!! She worked miracles!

It didn't matter because a lady told them to come sit in the chairs (they sat and waited for 2 or 3 minutes before this happened). I asked a lady that was sitting down if she was in line. She told me it was her first time as well. It took a customer in line to tell me to sign in on the key pad. The lady that ended up assisting me, Sunira noticed that I was there before the other two ladies. I told her that I wanted my eyebrows cleaned and she did an okay job. When I looked back in the mirror when she was finished I had something brown on my face. It was not there when I walked in! She wiped it and said she didn't have anything on her hands. I am not sure if I will return. I didn't like the initial customer service.

When I checked in, I asked if any of providers I saw on Google were there and Sabin was! She was kind, gentle, and very attentive. I told her all of my areas of concern and she provided a plan for me. She threaded my brows, and waxed my armpits and chin. While I was waiting for her, I saw a lot of other people getting their eyebrows tinted. I was curious about the process so I asked and based on her response I was confident enough to try it. It was a great experience! My Biggest concern was the tint being too dark. Typically the darker you go, the longer the tint will last, but I had events that week and I didn't want my eyebrows looking crazy dark. I expressed that to Sabin she told me that she could give me a lighter tint that would look natural. I was a bit nervous, but it was perfect! It lasted me about ~ two weeks. If I have a period of time where I don't have to go out in the public thenmaybe I'll get the darker tint but the natural tint she did for me was great. I'll definitely be back! The waxing was quick and painless. Total I believe my visit cost me around 60 bucks including tip. They do sell products at the front and I was convinced to buy the wipes for my eyebrows. I don't really think they were necessary as you could just use a dental gentle napkin or cloth to wipe your brows daily. They are located in a smaller lot so parking can be tricky, but I was able to find a spot just fine. The place itself was clean and they have about eight seats for services and a long bench in the waiting area for guest.
