Mike has helped out me personally and always did a great job. The problem gets fixed and I do not have to return until some new problem pops up. It's so unfortunate and frustrating to have to write this 1-star review. As the others have said, Mike is charming. He'll tell you what you want to hear, then fall extremely short with service. Since October 2022, I have been in contact with him to make some improvements to my classic car. He was helpful in telling me to get the parts, and in December, he could install them. December came, I called him excited for the work to be done. But, I was disappointed when he said it'll have to be January. I verified and wanted to make sure it would really happen in January. So he assured me, "I'm talking to you now. I can do it in January." I finally dropped my car off with the parts... and a list of what I wanted done. He smiled. He was charming, and told me 2 weeks! 2 weeks came and went. I finally had to call. He'd had a family thing, so it was going to be postponed. Another week... no communication. I called and a young man answered. Mike wasn't in. But he'll reach out, and Mike will call me. No call. I waited another week. Mike answered on a Friday. I asked him how the repairs were going. This is over 3 weeks he's had my car. Nothing had been done to it. His excuse "I have other cars and other customers." He said I could come get my car. I pleaded with him, saying that I really wanted him to do the work. WHEN will it be done? He said he'd look over his schedule and give me a date tomorrow (Saturday). I finally get a call, and he says, "Come get your car. I've replaced the tank. I'm not doing the rest of the work." Shocked, nd not wanting to plead or argue, I said,"How much do I owe you for installing the tank?" He said, "Nothing. Just come get your car." I had the car for about a week. Filled the tank, and then it started leaking. I called him, and he'd said, "What do you want? I did it for free!" There is so much wrong with the lack of service I got from this guy. I had to take a while to collect my thoughts. He could use some tips, so here it goes: 1. Don't say you can do something and then not do it. 2. Don't give a time frame of doing it if you don't plan to even START. 3. If you don't want to do it, SAY NO. Don't beat around the bush. Don't be the yes man, and then fail miserably at everything you said you'd do. 4. A free service that was done wrong to begin with is not a favor to me. It ended up costing more because of your lack of social skill and desire to do what you said you would. 4. I've heard through the grape vine that you want to sell the shop and get out. Well, it shows. Now is probably a good time. Do it before you wreck the rest of your mechanics' reputations. read more

I had a similar experience at MVP AUTO as JM. I was taking my car there for a couple of years. After $3,000 (2 new radiators) my car was still overheating. He quoted me another $1,600 to repair it. I no longer live in Glendora but still make the drive to go to MVP, because these guys are that great. Once you go, you won't want to go anywhere else. I've gone for new tires, oil changes, and even things like, "my brakes or something squeal when I'm driving slowly," and they always take care of me fairly and help me understand what's going on with my car. I had a catastrophic failure on my coolant system, I had a belt break, water pump failed, and my radiator had cracked. I got the parts for the water pump and belt, at the time i didnt know about the radiator. It had always had a small crack so I wasnt surprised when i received the news that it finally cracked to a point where it could no longer hold coolant, what I was surprised about was when they told me there was a leak in the high pressure power steering hose. Now, i had taken a video of my car prior to bring it in for repair, there was no such leak. When i got the car back it looked like someone had tried to pull the hose apart, and when that didnt work, they took a knife or box cutter to it. Theres a perfect slit about 1cm long on the top of the hose, looks like someone just poked it. That was not there before and I have video proof of this. They also stole a brand new bottle of coolant, because he gave me the wrong bottle back. I got a 50/50 back and that is not what I had. The belt pulleys were put back wrong and the belt was right up against the engine block, slowly getting frayed away. So, they stole coolant, cut the power steering hose, and put the belts on wrong. Worst experience ever, they also threatened to put my car on the street to get it towed when I didnt answer that day, even when i told them I wouldnt have a phone on for another day. Dont go here, they will scam you. They're lucky I'm too broke to sue their ass for the belts and the power steering hose! Again, i have video proof of this. No question. I still paid them $240 for this. Now its gonna cost me another $250 for the hose. WORST PLACE EVER! read more

Once Again Mike @ MVP comes in and saves the day... MVP is like Family to me, they have helped me and my family in the pass and I will alway come back... This time it was my wife's Mazda 5. I took it to the dealer "still under warranty" (ha) for an oil leak at 65 thousands miles... yeah 65k... they said the warranty just expired but they would be more than happy to look into it for me... come to find out its the part where the oil filter mounts too that is leaking: the part is over 500 and labor over 500.., no thanks (passed). Took it to mike, I guess the dealer forgot to check it takes a seal there... 10 dollar seal, 150 in labor, peace of mind :) and a happy wife, it does not get any better than that, part was good in stock and Mike and his crew got it back to me the same day..., Thanks Mike and Bradley... Based on a recommendation from a relative, I took my car to be repaired several times to MVP. Although Mike is very charming & friendly, I later began to question Mike's ethics and abilities after my car began to mysteriously break down shortly after being in his shop for repairs. So, I decided to put him to the test. Shortly after I took my car in to MVP for another repair job, I noticed that my radiator cap had been replaced with a different ill-fitting cap & now had a new problem which was leaking anti-freeze. I decided to take my car into the manufacturer dealership who determined that that leakage was due to an ill-fitting cap and the fix was a new $25 radiator cap. Later, knowing what the problem really had been, I took my car back to Mike's and explained the leakage problem, his diagnosis was replacing the water pump which would have cost me over $600. when in reality the leakage was the ill-fitting radiator cap which he had replaced in the first place. There & then I was done MVP & Mike. My suggestion to anyone is if something appears suspicious it may be because something is, so ask question, get educated and reconsider your mechanic. read more
