Returned the second time with all requested paperwork but they could not do the registration as we needed a NM bill of sale. They charged us nearly $50 for a VIN inspection, and advised us to go to the state DMV. We were told that if the service we paid for was not accepted by the state, they would refund the fee. At the state DMV, the MVD express VIN inspection was not accepted as it was not completely filled out. All other paperwork, which MVD express had told us was not adequate, was accepted and the vehicle was registered. I returned to MVD express ( my 4th time there) to obtain a refund and was told that I should have brought the VIN inspection back so they could complete the missing information. I told them it was a non issue, was told refund would be made by check, but as the receipt was made out to my husband (who was not present this time), even though I had paid with my credit card, they could not process the refund! I called their service number and put in a complaint-was told I would get a call back- but have not heard anything since. Pure incompetence! Will never use this business again and am telling everyone I know to stay far away from MVD express!

They only take appointments but you can make them in advance or on the kiosks in the lobby for a later time that day. At first it's a chaotic scene and there's no one there to tell you how to check in. But it becomes apparent pretty quicly. Unfortunately there's really no explanation how to use the kiosks and a large number of confused people trying to use one of the two machines. I'm fortunate because I worked in tech for 30 years and am comfortable with computers. But the elderly and non native English speakers in front of me could have used a friendly face to help them out. Appointment is a bit of a misnomer, it's more like a window. My appointment was at 10 and once I got my number it was another good 20 minutes before I was called. But the TV system is clear and lets you know where you are in the order. The clerk who helped my was sufficiently friendly and quickly walked me through the process and I was out of there about 45 minutes after checking in. DMVs are one one of those strange places, like jury duty where you see all types of people. I heard at least two people yelling at the clerks for no apparent reason. Come on, try to be nice, they're doing the best they can in a chaotic environment.

My registration had been suspended because my insurance (which I had the whole time) company did not send my current policy to the MVD. So 2 of my 3 registrations became suspended I was only made aware of one in which this location charged me like $80+ just to fix and then the next day I went to fix an accident made on the registration of one of my other vehicle to find the same problem on another. Now the Eubank location performed this action for free and then informed me cause my ins never truly lapse that it should have been free. Needless to say the Jefferson location are crooks steer clear and go somewhere else they are a private entity so if you choose not to support their shady business then they will inevitably closed their doors which would be a positive thing for all consumers. I know that with Covid going around, many operations are working on short notice. However, it would be easier if they could modify their appointment page or place a link there directing people to the correct website. Appointments are only made by phone and your response will be by a return phone call. The information I got on the phone wasn't entirely correct. The lady told me to bring a utility bill, but I actually needed two utility bills. Luckily, it wasn't a problem because they were able to accept the electronic version, so long as they were able to print it for me. The representative at booth #4 was very helpful and answered all of my questions. I learned about mistakes the previous MVD made regarding my eye exam. The wait was nonexistent, though, many years ago I went here and maybe there were a few people in front of me. I think having appointments might keep a place like this very efficient and relieve a lot of stress off employees. Certainly today, everyone there seemed to be happy with things and everything was going at a great pace.

It took about 2 hours total. Not as bad as the regular DMV, but still, paying the extra $30 hardly seems worth it to me. The staff was great though, and really did a great job.
