If you value your time, do not bother going here as they will give you the run around! We purchased a vehicle out of state and were told they needed both the title and a bill of sale. Returned the second time with all requested paperwork but they could not do the registration as we needed a NM bill of sale. They charged us nearly $50 for a VIN inspection, and advised us to go to the state DMV. We were told that if the service we paid for was not accepted by the state, they would refund the fee. At the state DMV, the MVD express VIN inspection was not accepted as it was not completely filled out. All other paperwork, which MVD express had told us was not adequate, was accepted and the vehicle was registered. I returned to MVD express ( my 4th time there) to obtain a refund and was told that I should have brought the VIN inspection back so they could complete the missing information. I told them it was a non issue, was told refund would be made by check, but as the receipt was made out to my husband (who was not present this time), even though I had paid with my credit card, they could not process the refund! I called their service number and put in a complaint-was told I would get a call back- but have not heard anything since. Pure incompetence! Will never use this business again and am telling everyone I know to stay far away from MVD express! read more

I called this morning to see if I needed an appointment to transfer a car title and was told I could just walk in. They close at 6 and I walked in at 4:45. I was very rudely told by Taeler that he was supposed to get off work at 4 and hadn't had lunch and therefore wasn't taking anymore car titles. I said the call center said I could walk in and he responded that technically that's true but he wasn't going to do it. I have never been talked to so rudely or been treated so poorly. This man's job is customer service. I later found out that he is the subject of many complaints for his rude behavior towards customers. I don't know how he is still employed but that should be unacceptable. read more

Do not go to MVDExpress--they are NOT part of the state MVD. They charge you $40 extra for every transaction. They charged me a $40 convenience fee for my license and an $80 convenience fee for my title in addition to regular license and title fees (overall, they charged me more than 200$ connivance fees). I went to this location of MVD Express and had a fantastic experience. I had to re register a car that was emissions tested out of state. Anthony gave me a pamphlet about where to get the out of state emissions report translated to the NM form. I emailed them the form and within one day I received the NM form. I just returned from MVD Express, again Anthony helped me, and I was out the door in 7 minutes with the renewed registration in hand. It was an awesome experience! read more

I used this service to renew my license. I thought it was a better option than waiting at the dmv. I was wrong. It's a ripoff and inconvenient. 1. The service charge is ridiculous. It more than doubled the dmv cost. 2. They void your license and give you a temp on black and white paper. No new license on the day. 3. After paying the ridiculous fee, I was told it would take 2-3 weeks for my new license to show up in my mailbox. Ridiculous! read more

I had been coming here for years to do general things, renew registration, title changes on vehicles, etc. and the express fee to me was justified because I did get in and out quickly. But what bothers me more is how little you pay your workers. There have been times I walked out that door for a minimum of $60 and you can't pay more than $12 an hour? My feeling is simple : Yes you are a locally based business (or so I was told), and you have a decent product that rakes in money, that can't translate into even a $14 an hour starting pay? Just truly disheartening when I look at old receipts and seeing some of your locations floundering because there may be one or two people working. And that's why "nobody wants to work", no employers are willing to pay a wage competitive with rising housing and living costs. I don't know if I would get hammered like the complaints at the Better Business Bureau. The official state run MVD now takes appointments. These people are nothing but incompetent. They forwarded my titles to my registered agent instead of processing them. They told me they did so because I didn't respond to them in their ten day window. I replied back with screenshots of two calls to them within their 10 day window. The Santa Fe MVD Express had always been great, til March of 2019. I went in by appt. in the early evening, with all the same documents I had used to change my Social Security card to my married name. Just when the young lady was about to put it through, the manager (a thin Hispanic woman with long hair) stopped her and said they couldn't do it. She claimed I didn't have the proper document for the divorce in my previous marriage, and also said my current marriage license wasn't a certified copy (even though it SAID "Certified Copy" and was stamped/embossed). So I asked if I could at least renew my standard drivers license and she still refused. I understand now that this treatment was completely unjustified and from now on I'm going to the regular MVD. read more

I had an appointment for 8:30 am, I received a confirmation email for that time. I arrived on time for the appointment only to find out they altered their hours due to COVID/staffing issues. I understand needing to alter the hours, but MVD express should have sent me an email notifying me that my appointment was either canceled or re-scheduled. This service has totally gone down hill. Took 3 weeks of chasing people on the phone on perpetual hold. Hold cuts you off too! Emails not answered quickly. Express?!!! Phone menu option 3 did not work for 3 weeks (for registration and renewal press 3--- and go into a perpetual loop). They do NOT give out rep phone extensions, Faxed dox as requested. No call back for days. Finally she says I have no access to the fax). Definitely not an express if you do it on the phone or on line. I tried to do on line. No luck multiple times. Went in around 1:15 for title registration on 12/08/20 with no appointment. It was the quickest and easiest dmv experience i have ever had! Walked in and got checked in by a gentleman and sat down to wait my turn. 3 employees were assisting people and then it was my turn. They were fast friendly and not a single ounce of attitude or negativity. Yes you do have to pay the a convenience fee but it's absolutely worth it for how easy they made my experience. Only going to go to this location for any dmv needs and already have been recommending it to everyone i know. read more

This is the second time here because the clerk registered the vehicle incorrectly. As a result, we have to wait yet a second time due to their mistake. This site only has 2 attendants between 8 to 11 am on this Thursday morning so it takes longer to assist customers. Needless to say, you pay a premium express fee for no "EXPRESS". Still waiting!!!!!! Two things to note: 1) of the two ladies, only one is trained on titles and registrations, the other can only do Driver's License. 2) the manager does not come in until 9:45 so don't bother to ask for him prior to this time. 30 minutes later....Still waiting! And finally, after speaking with the manager, he waived today's convenience fee. What? I have to pay a second convenience for their mistake? Puzzled! Now this place knows how to handle the public. When I walked in there was someone waiting to greet me and ask what I needed. When I told them I needed to renew my license they asked to see my paperwork to make sure I had what was needed. I didn't even get to sit down, they helped me immediately and I was out of there in less than 20 minutes with new (temporary) license in hand. What a joy to actually have EXPRESS service, ya I know I paid extra for that but my time is worth something after all!! Also, loved that the manager (guessing) held the door open for me as I was leaving and offered me a 'have a good day' too. It's too bad I have to give these people even one star. I just had one of the worst customer service experiences of my life at this location. The staff at the Paseo branch is poorly trained, unresponsive and downright rude. I spent more time trying to get a license plate at this MVD Express location than I would have at the state-run facility. The employees had no clue what they were doing. They had to do the paperwork twice. And to add insult to injury, didn't give me all the paperwork I paid for. So I had to leave work TWICE in one day to deal with this and it almost cost me my job. Their "convenience" fee is a joke. They should call it an inconvenience fee. They have permanently lost my business. If you go in there - prepare to have the employees "practice" on you. You will find rude, uncaring, unprepared people who couldn't care less if you are properly served. read more

I have come to this location perhaps three or four times now and I have to admit, it's worth the fee. We all know we can spend 3-4 HOURS at the state-run MVD for the simplest transactions. Folks are complaining in their reviews because they had to wait 20 minutes. It's not a McDonald's drive-thru, folks. There are complicated transactions happening. Flipping out doesn't help. While I was there, a woman didn't have the correct documentation and was telling off the clerks. They were so good at keeping a cool head and remaining professional. It's not like they made state policy. Yelling at them doesn't help anyone. I give this place 3 stars based upon convenience. It is open until 6pm Mon-Fri and open for a bit on Saturdays. Anyone who has gone to the regular MVD knows how inconvenient, busy, and understaffed they are. I think this is a great concept having MVD expresses, however, if your staff isn't knowledgable... It slows things down as well. If you are paying additional money, $26.89 a transaction, I would expect exceptional service. There seemed to be one main person that knew their stuff at this express off Paseo....The other 2 employees had to keep asking the 1 knowledgeable person questions and for help. I would have to agree with previous reviews that this MVD Express should probably remove the "Express" from their name. When you pay an extra $30 per transaction, you expect a certain level of customer service and speed but every time I've been here it has taken at least 20 minutes and the workers clearly hate being there. The owners definitely need to hire more employees and make their work situation more enjoyable so their customers will benefit in the end.
