Without these reviews, it's a pretty hidden place so I would've never even known it existed! There was one person ahead of me finishing up so I pulled up in front of the attendant (totally forgot to ask his name). Told him it was my first time there and he replied "me too!" with a chuckle. That lightened the mood and eased any hesitancy I had. My husband brought our empty propane tank out and the guy told us where to put it before starting to fill it up. They usually charge by the gallon and was about $3.80/gal for us. We got about 4.5 gallons, which ended up costing under their $20 minimum so he rounded the total up to a flat $20. Paid with our credit card and given a receipt and we were on our way in under 10 mins! Incredible! I'd recommend this place to all our friends for their propane needs. It's right off the 55 so it's super easy to access too! Next time, we're gonna bring both our propane tanks to get filled since it was such a painless experience. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I came by today (November 26th at 2:56 PM) to get propane because their posted hours online show they're open until 4 PM. Instead, the propane area was already shut down. When I asked about it, I was told they closed at 2:30 "because of the holiday," even though today isn't a holiday. The attitude I received was extremely disappointing. When I asked if they would be open tomorrow, I only got a rude nod. When I mentioned that we needed five propane tanks filled, the employee just shrugged as if it didn't matter. I'm very upset with the bad customer service and the lack of accurate information. If they're going to close early, they should update their hours and treat customers with basic courtesy. read more

If you're thinking of trading in your tank at Walmart instead, DONT. For an even $20 here, you get 20lbs of gas (tank trade ins only give you 15lbs). No frills - you drive up to the station, the guy is super friendly and refills your tank, and you're out of there in less than 5 min. No tank minimum - 1 tank is totally fine. read more

I needed to refill my propane tank and decided to try this spot after seeing it on Yelp rather than buying another tank at a gas station or Home Depot. The location is pretty easy to locate - it's in the back of a gas station. Drove right up to the attendee - pulled the tank from the trunk l, he refilled it and charged me $20 which I remember thinking was pretty cheap relative to what I've paid at the gas station but can't remember if it's a lot cheaper than hardware stores as well. I have now been coming here at least 17 years. Always solid service, never any problem. I've been served by the same exact person every time I've come in the last 17 years. You can't beat the customer service or the price of propane here. Behind a 76 Gas Station is where you'll find this lovely place (specifically to the right rear when entering the gas station). You simply pull up to the propane machines, take out your tanks that need refilling, and the VERY kind worker will help you out (I didn't catch his name, but he's been there for years!). There's a $20 minimum charge for filling, however, the worker hooked me up! I brought my little propane tank (1 gallon) to get filled and he did it for $8! They also sell large propane tanks in the main office. At times there is a line but it moves rather quickly. Patience, you'll get your turn! I love this place. It's so easy. You pull your car to the filling station. They fill your tanks and off you go. The people are so friendly and there is no waiting. I got there close to closing and their staff was so nice and friendly. It was a pleasure doing business with them. I would recommend this place because the service was great and the prices were a lot cheaper than doing a tank exchange, Oftentimes you wonder if the tank you exchanged was full. Sometimes the clerk is busy and you have to wait until he finds his key to the propane storage. Take the tank back to the store to pay and take the tank to your car. As of late, I've been making weekly trips out to the Tustin/Santa Ana for business. The night before, I loaded up my empty propane tanks & was planning to get them refilled on my way back home @ a Shell gas station just down the hill from me. FALSE ADVERTISING. THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE COUPON FROM THEIR OWN WEBSITE. Person filling the tank said that they haven't honored it for 3 years. That's plenty of time to have removed the coupon if they aren't trying to bring people in with the coupon price and then charge full price. Some tips: Don't get there within an hour of closing or you may find that they will not serve you. The usual person working there can be very unfriendly. Don't get on his bad side. Be sure to make sure the meter is reset to zero before. The person working there seems to "forget" to reset it all the way to zero if you are filling multiple tanks. Use your calculator to confirm the total before paying. Somehow, it is frequently calculated incorrectly. Pay with a credit card. Cash payments may be rounded up. read more

Is it Groundhog Day already? I got brushed off and turned away this time last year and here we are again. Different scenario, same result. It took me an entire year to give Mutual Propane another shot and this year I showed up well before the holiday, and well before closing, to refill my three 20lb cylinders. Turns out it doesn't matter. Getting off work early and showing up at 4pm (30min prior to closing) , three days before the holiday still wasn't good enough. Waved at, turned away, told they were closing and that they couldn't squeeze me in due to there being a number of people waiting inside. What a great service. Refilling propane can be a hassle, especially if you have trouble dragging the tanks around. Jose makes it super easy -- drive in with your tanks in the back and he'll take them out, refill them, and put them back. He'll also keep an eye on your tank's expiration date (yup, the tanks expire... who knew) and he'll recycle them for you when they're empty and need to be replaced. His prices are fair. My once a year go-to for bbq propane tank refills. Way cheaper than exchanging at the local gas station or hardware stores. Be sure to fill up at least a tank and a half to get your money's worth because they do have a minimum. I was amazed that this place is so close, easy to get into and out of, friendly and soooo much less expensive than Blue Rhino! I bought my tanks as Sam's Club so they have fill gauges on them. I was afraid I'd have to give up my gauges by turning them in to Blue Rhino, then pay $22 for each "refill". I was able to drive in, get both tanks filled by a friendly attendant and drive out in less than 10 minutes and only spent $12.50! I will certainly be back! read more
