There are always deals and coupons that may apply to your purchase so it's good to have a subscription or just keep an eye out for deals. The brand itself doesn't necessarily carry the highest quality of goods, but at the price point, it's better than spending too much on an infrequently used tool or accessory and it's better quality than the tools you would find on eBay or AliExpress. Things are well organized, and I feel that I saw more products here that I don't see at the Lake Forest location. Aung at the cash register helped me out today, and he was awesome. I had a ton of coupons, and he was patient and kind. I needed help finding a specific funnel, and another associate who helped me was friendly! I was already a Harbor Freight fan before, but I am even more stoked about this bright new store in Irvine! LSS, after visits to Lowe's and Home Depot who were unable to help me, Matt sold me a $7 bolt cutter, and kindly used the ones I had just purchased to cut through two steel rings for me!!! Matt and Angie not only knew their stuff, they were so kind and patient with me! At no point did I ever feel that they were rolling their eyes, they genuinely wanted to help!!!! First time at Harbor Freight and first employee I spoke to... asked about a high-demand item that showed "In-Stock" at the store. Said sold out when they opened, but was really rude about not saying how many they had this shipment or when they would get another. Guess they don't need any more business? 1-star. Second employee I spoke with was much more understanding and explained that they had only received two of the item and they expected the next shipment in two weeks. I've been buying tools for years here, I bought a peice of junk lithium charger, took 1 hour to charge (Amazon 5 minutes) I returned it the next day had to pay $25 restocking fee NEVER AGAIN will I shop here. The store itself is like any of Harbor Freight, well organized and clean. However, the older (30s) female Hispanic cashier was incredibly rude to every paying customer before us and us as well. Everyone was nice to her, yet she met every customer with a stank face and attitude. We said thank you at the end and she "yeah"ed before throwing the receipt at us. Harbor Freight must really be desperate for Store Managers, employing Jacob for the Irvine store. Jacob went out of his way to make sure we were unable to purchase a $400 tool cabinet. He said by phone we could purchase it from him until 8 pm. When we got there at 6:30, he said he couldn't help us load it, and told us we had to put the 210 pound box in a shopping cart and push it out to our vehicle! He recommended we return earlier the next day: we guess he thinks no one works during the day??? Among other roadblocks he put up was the issue of inspecting for shipping damage, which is very prevalent if you read the reviews. We suspect his suggestion we inspect the carton contents in the parking lot is related to the negative review comments about the Irvine Store restocking charges. He refused to bring the tool cabinet out for inspection in the store before we paid for it. His incredible actions pretty much ended any association with Harbor Freight we care to have as a Customer. Further, we are more than flabbergasted that the Area and Regional Managers employ Jacob as a Store Manager. It was an incredibly bad experience, and reflects upon HF management, or lack thereof. read more

Avoid this place as much as you can. The floor staff are not very good at knowing their products. The cashier's have full and unpleasant attitudes. and to top it of their return policy is horrendous but they cash in on it well I'm sure. I run a small business with constant visits to various hardware and industrial equipment stores for the past 15 years, and have yet to come across another company that has this much of a negative stigma. Bought a generator and wasmet with a cocky floor representative who answered questions with an attitude and felt forced, went home with the item opened the box saw it didn't come with wheels, closed it back up and returned to the store a couple days later and was charged almost 200 dollars for a "restocking"fee by these people claiming ints the law in similar situations no other company I've shopped with has pulled off this ripoff as the item is new and unused. No wonder they have an F rating on the better business bureau with tons of complaintsnever coming coming back to this awful company after this encounter. Plenty of much better options folks! Hands down the BEST HF location yet. I've never really had a bad experience at any other HF but this one in particular is outstanding.. primarily for the service. Each person working here is always in a good mood, eager to help and knowledgeable. Edgar has been helping me with an otherwise frustrating order issue but has been taken care of seamlessly since the start making the whole process pleasant. Matthew, Val, Angie, Jared... just a few other names that I remember from my visits. Management is doing something right. The store is also always stocked and is cleaner and more organized than many big box stores. Very grateful this location opened up. read more
