I thought I had my heart set on a new RAV 4 . I hadn't been seriously considering the crv hybrid because I really wanted a spare tire. I went and sat inside a RAV 4 at a local Toyota dealer. I hated the cheapness of the interior and lack of climate control knobs (theirs is all embedded in the infotainment system). I did a lot of research and kept coming back to the CRV. One day I decided to go see one. I loved the interior and how it looked. What a beautiful vehicle! So I decided to test drive one. Bernie was my sales person. I highly recommend him! He's amazing and a very nice guy. Anyway, the car drove like a dream! I've owned a couple Mercedes, a Lexus sports car and most recently a Subaru. The CRV beat them all hands down! But I still thought I didn't give the RAV 4 a chance. So I went and drove the SE, not even a trim I wanted because I hated the idea of a camera watching me drive. Conveniently they had that feature disabled. Likely knowing that I wasn't the only person who disliked that feature. Anyway, again I couldn't get over the cheap feel of the vehicle. Even the doors felt cheap. I hated it. So LSS, my mind was made up. A couple days later I went back to Freeway Honda and picked up my 26 CRV Sport Touring. I now have about 900 miles on it and am still just as in love! I want this car to last into my retirement. I'm in my 50's. I feel that I got a great price and it was all low pressure. When I went back everything had been negotiated so I was only there about 2 hours. It was a painless process. I wasn't even considering a Hyundai or KIA. Long term I don't trust the reliability plus they all have the CC integrated into the infotainment system. So if you're on the fence. I highly recommend you seriously consider the CRV hybrid. The ST trim is very quiet due to the extra acoustics they put in the top trim. So far I'm averaging 40 mpg combined city/hwy. I did have to kind of relearn how to drive as I was always a lead foot. But it was quite easy and there are a lot of FB groups and YouTube videos with tips. Go see Bernie! I'd also like to give a shout out to Randy in the finance department. He's a great guy also. Please be careful going to Freeway Honda. Please, google: AC issues with Honda cars. My family has purchased four Honda cars over the last twenty years. I consider us good customers. As far as service, we have been loyal to the dealerships to have all our work done as each of our cars have aged. Our latest Honda is a 2016 Civlc which has been under the care and tutelage of Freeway Honda in Santa Ana, California. In 2023 we noticed the AC did not work properly. We took it in and they replaced it, as it was under warranty. In 2026 we took it in and they repaired the condenser at no charge. This was in January of this year. Our current problem with the AC began again in May. The AC did not work, again. We took it in. Our friendly service advisor Teresa told us it was a new problem, the "Evaporator." The cost of repair would be $2,000, and it is not under warranty. We are one our own. I called Honda corporate. They were very encouraging about helping us. She informed us that the 2016 Civlc is notorious for having issues with both the evaporator and the condenser. Honda decided to extend the the warranty for the "condenser" but not the evaporator. She was very positive about helping us and doing something to help us since this is a common problem. Then the nightmare began. Hector took over our case. He reviewed the information, and offered no promises. After two weeks, he dismissed us with a full and complete denial of our case. No help. No discount. No explanation. No thank your for being a twenty plus year customer. My stepmom worked for Honda in El Segundo, California. No support for loyal, faithful, long time customers. Upon further research, we found that the condenser when it fails, can cause the evaporator to fail. The faulty part under warranty caused the good part to fail which is not under warranty. We again, are on our own. No help from Honda. No support for loyal, faithful, long time customers. Again, no help from Honda for us. So much for loyalty to their customers, no commitment to stand behind the quality of their product. Even though our car is ten years old, it has very low millage. It is in pristine condition. We believed in the product. We supported Honda cars. Times have changed. Honda has fallen. You are on your own. No support for loyal, faithful, long time customers. This is not the Honda car company I grew up with. We will never return to a Honda service department. They said it is unlucky this happened to us. Well, a huge thank you for that comment. We would like some help. Some understanding. Some compensation for all the trouble from Honda. We warn all our friends to choose a more dependable car company that stand behind their product, knowing that customer loyalty is at the heart of any successful car company. 1145 am, Saturday, November 29, 2025 I did my homework and found a trunk mat for my Civic. I drove down to Freeway Honda (Santa Ana Honda) off the 55 freeway and Edinger. The customer parking is in the northern portion of the lot. I found a few spots, not many, to park and head to the parts department. Parts and service are separate from the show room. I interacted with the parts employee. He was dressed more casually (a black Honda hoodie) than the Honda techs (blue mechanic uniform) standing around near the service lane. We had a discussion about touch up paint and the color and color code of my car. I erroneously looked up the color on Google which gave me an incorrect color code. Solar Reflection Silver Metallic is code NH932M. TIP: do not believe everything you read on Google. Use your VIN to order the correct parts for your car. The advisor suggested to photograph the jamb of the car that has a sticker containing the VIN and paint color. Paint pens are $20 (clear coat pen not included). $110 out the door, inclusive of the 25% off MSRP ($135). I paid the cashier and took my over sized plastic mat to the car. I popped the boot and cleared the shopping bags. As expected, it fit like a glove. I put everything back in the trunk and departed. I was expecting more of a rubberized material and heavier (my 2012 all season mats were more rubbery). This was more plasticky hence the lighter weight. read more

Brought my wife's 2019 HRV here for its 100,000 mile service. The service staff were friendly and quick and got us checked in nicely. The service was on the expensive side but that's okay given the 100K service requires a lot of maintenance items. They completed the work in a timely manner and got the car back to us same day. They even offer a shuttle service in case you don't have a ride home, which is a nice touch. I would recommend the occasional service here. read more

I brought my vehicle in for a mandatory safety recall and a system diagnostic, which I was quoted at $185. While the paperwork indicated that the service could take until the end of the day, I was verbally informed by the associate that it would take approximately 3-4 hours. This inconsistency in communication created unclear expectations and caused inconvenience when the service ultimately took 8 hours to complete. Upon checkout, I was presented with a bill totaling $281. This included $195 for the diagnostic and additional charges for an A/C (Freon) service. I was neither informed of nor did I authorize any work on my A/C system. When I raised this concern, I was told that because I did not respond to a text message, they proceeded with the service without my explicit consent. Only after I questioned the charge was it removed, and I was told I had received the Freon "for free." Unfortunately, this was communicated in a condescending manner, which made the interaction uncomfortable and unprofessional. Unauthorized services, unexpected charges, inconsistent communication, extended service times, and dismissive customer interactions are unacceptable. I expect transparency, explicit consent before any additional work is performed, and respectful treatment as a customer. Last time I'm coming here. I'll drive farther for better service. read more

At first the floor manager said he would see if they could help then started dodging my calls and then recommended to take it to another dealer. Since then, the car has been in the shop more than it has been on the road. As I reflect, I realize that I did fall for the sleazy sales tactics and the shiny new car. The only reason why I write this post is because I was naïve, and if you are a young person going into buy car loan, maybe consider bringing a family member so you don't fall for tactics. I shouldn't have the be writing this review as my issue was a quick fix (a call from a manager & a refund), but here we are. Tuesday, 1/7/2025: I noticed that I had been getting charged for some of my oil changes, but not for others. This seemed like an honest mistake which I completely understand and I just wanted a refund of those fees. So I called to see if I can get a refund if I was owed one. The gentleman said that a manager would CALL me the next day to go over the charges as I shouldn't paid for them. Perfect-I thought what a quick fix! Wednesday, Thursday, & then the weekend comes and I never get a call. Therefore, I call back today, Saturday, 1/11/2025 around 2:30pm and asked to speak to a manager since it had been days and I was never got contacted. The rep told me the manager was busy but that he'd give me a call later. Since it had been days that I hadn't heard back I asked if she can make sure the manager called me back by the end of the day and the rep said sure. Saturday, 1/11/2025: The manager does not have the decency to call me back. Jaime instead emails me at 5:12pm (once the service department is closed) to tell me I'm not getting a refund and that I'm having my money applied to a different service that I did not ask for. I sent a short and petty response because at this point, I do not care to speak to management if this is how you are treating your customers. Waiting until you're closed to respond to a customer is a terrible management decision. Jaime, I just want a refund to my original form of payment and I no longer want a call. Thank you. read more

This review for freeway Honda is both for a new car purchase and for a subsequent visit to their service department I leased a new 2025 Honda Prologue from here -- Francisco was the sales person. It was an excellent experience that actually changed my thinking about the Honda brand I am not new to leasing, but most of the good deals I have found (value for money) have been in German brands Audi/BMW that have leased well, and their sales ppl know how to write up a quick and efficient lease. Freeway Honda experience with Francisco was similar -- no condescension, haggling or pressure selling - straightforward discussion of numbers over text and phone and everything was agreed upon before i drove to the dealership. And I was in and out within an hour with a deal that matched the best of what I had seen in online forums up-to that point. A+ Now for the service -- After a week or so, I noticed a very mild clicking sound when using the brakes at low speeds and was bothered by it. Also bothersome was a rattle in the dash while driving over bumps at freeway speeds. So i make an appointment at freeway Honda, with Oscar. The wait was a bit more than my taste - like 15 mins past the appointment time, but I was patient. Oscar saw the car and test drove it with me - I showed him what the issue was and he agreed with me. Usually for such noise / feel complaints, half the battle is replicating the issue and convincing the service rep, but here he was very much on the same page as me. Later that day, they did a thorough check of the brakes and found no issue and did find the source of the dash rattle -- which was in the rear-view mirror! then they used a felt pad in that assembly to dampen the noise and now its completely gone. They also handled the pickup and drop off well via their shuttle and then uber to my house for pickup. So all in all, I gave them 5 stars -- good sales process and also great after sales service. Mind you its only been a month, so I will update this review in the future as well But my message to you if you read so far is to not get scared away by the lower average 3-star rating. My experience here was great and I am going to look at Honda and specifically these guys again, when another of my German car leases expires next year. read more

The review is for the service department. The reason for 3 stars and not 5 is for the wait time. When I arrived and got in the line, they had me waiting for over 10-15 minutes with no update. Keep in mind I'm the second car in line. Eventually someone that works the line came towards my vehicle and placed a number on the car and provided NO update. 8-10 min after that, another employee came towards my car, asked me to turn the car on and wrote down the mileage, and still NO update. 10 min after that the service adviser finally assisted me. She was friendly and knowledgeable. She did let me know about a recall on the car, but the down part about that. Is that there would be no courtesy vehicle provided. Which I completed understand, but what the service department should understand is that they should provide a courtesy vehicle since they are only doing this repair Monday - Friday during business hours. Most people do need a car during these hours. They do provide a shuttle, but the range they cover does not cover my work location. Luckily I called another Honda dealership where they are able to provide a courtesy vehicle during the recall repair. If you value your time, I wouldn't recommend going to this Honda service department. read more
