Quaint lil spot on Western Av...love this space, rustic, old floor boards...lolol, love the worn furniture eclectic style of art all over the space.....Great for a meeting, reading, gathering place for friends....the cinnamon roll was wonderful! The coffee was fantastic, not to sweet, just strong enuff...George the owner was awesome....handling all the people that came in at the event i was attending in a reasonable time..... Definitely worth a visit!!!!

Muse Coffee Studio and art gallery. The absolute best in Chicago, but don't overrun my favorite coffee shop. ;-)

I'm reluctant to write this review, because I don't want this place to get so popular that I can't grab a seat or a table when I need to drop by to get some work done and enjoy an excellent hot or warm beverage. Muse Coffee Studio is my preferred home/office away from home at this point. It is very comfortable, and the vibe is exactly what I'd want to create if I were an owner of a business/gathering space. This place feels like you're being welcomed. It feels personal in a great way. It feels human, and real, and connected to people in the way that the best hospitality businesses are. If you enjoyed any (or many) of the artists featured in Dave Chappelle's Block party (or the artists that inspired those artists), then this place is often playing exactly your soundtrack. It is EXACTLY mine. Potentially ironically given the business I'm reviewing, I don't drink coffee. Ever. I do love the smell of coffee. I love it in ice cream or as an ice cream flavor, but I can't drink it to save my life. I'm a tea person through and through. And Muse Coffee Studio always has some seasonal teas that are even more soothing than your standard issue fare. My personal favorite is probably "The Fire Next Time." Perfect spicy heat and temperature to take the chill off during a Chicago Fall or Winter. There's also an art gallery here which just adds to the overall ambiance of chill. Take your time to peruse and recenter yourself while your drink warms you. There are also occasionally special programs on the weekends, so take a look at their website or instagram feed before you come through on Saturdays or Sundays. Enjoy.

This place is so cool. You walk in and make your order at the cashier. It looks small, but when you walk to the back, you are welcomed to a huge room with open space. The decor is very cool with paintings on shelves with exposed brick walls. There are tables and chairs, and couches. Such a great space to study or hang out. Lighting is bright and good for reading or studying. It def has a great vibe. I had the hot chocolate with oat milk and it was very good. Perfect for cold weather and for a non-caffeinated drinker.

As a Black poet, I loved the Black-literature-themed drinks! I had "The Fire Next Time," inspired by one of my favorite James Baldwin books. Plus, they don't charge extra for dairy alternatives--a thoughtful touch. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and I appreciated that the cafe also serves as a gallery for local artists. The music was perfect, and the sense of community in the space was truly inspiring. I'll definitely be back!

My daughter and I really wanted to enjoy Muse. The setting and ambiance were wonderful. I loved the art work. I had the chai latte and it was a little bland and not too hot. I should have gone for the fire chai latte. My daughter had the brown sugar latte. She thought it was a little light on the coffee. I would give it another try if I lived in Chicago as I think they have great potential.

Lavender Latte and Lavender Matcha Latte

Amazing spot for coffee with plenty of tables and couches in the back to do work or hang out. The owner is extremely friendly and does his best on every single drink he makes. I tried the lavender latte and the matcha lavender latte and I loved that there is no additional charge for alternative milks! I got the drinks with almond milk and they were great! The lavender latte was a bitter stronger in the coffee with a hint of lavender and the lavender matcha had a nice blend of sweetness and quality matcha. Definitely recommend this spot for good quality coffee and chill vibes.

Super cute coffee shop in the tri-Taylor area. Super friendly staff and large, comfortable seating area in the back while you wait. I LOVE that they make their own flavored syrups here! I had the banana pudding chai which was very good. Would love to come back to try more drink options!

Jan 2021- New TriTaylor black-owned coffee spot has been only open a week and i stopped by! Serving Metric coffee--thumbs up. Owner George says his favorite color is purple and there are light accents under the wood and brick vibe. He's serving a basics menu to start, but it includes an on-theme lavender latte. Are just building their food menu but was happy to see Justice of the Pies! Larger exposed-brick back room will provide ample seating area when the time comes, and they plan on being able to multi-use the space.

While reading I saw that Metric in Chicago was on the list. And that was the sign this place had to be a must try! Came here on a Saturday morning. I walked a few miles from downtown to the neighborhood this place is in. It is in an industrial part town of area. Kind of reminds me of the west bank of the flats area or temont type of area we have in Cleveland. The shop itself is not very big. However the coffee, is absolutely incredible. While there I met Cara . She was so friendly and knowledgeable. I mentioned that the reason for making the walk to this place was to see how it measured with award of top 100 shop. From there I got my espresso. Amazing. Just amazing! Cara also took the time explain the cupping process. And how Metric gets their beans. The educational experience for a coffee nerd like myself was . And then getting a chance to do the cupping was icing on the cake!!! I'm very glad that I got to experience this gem of a shop. They have the best morning bagels I have ever had! Sure, I could put cream cheese, onion, tomato and cucumber on one at home but it is NOT the same! I have tried! Whatever they do to make their bagels is so much better than the store bought ones I can find. Not to mention that I love their scones! I might sound like I have a food problem but I love their morning bagels with a blueberry scone for later and top it all off with a vanilla latte. The service is always pretty quick, the staff is very friendly and if you eat there they play pretty good music. There are only like 6 seats inside but they also have an outdoor area too for summer.
