Worst place to eat in Tracy, hands down. Me, my fiancé and our kids went here for our second time to have dinner. The first time we walked out because we went there specifically for Sushi. After getting in, sitting down, the waitress informed us that they weren't doing sushi on this particular night due to no sushi chef on site. So we got up and walked out. Last night (SATURDAY) we decided to try it again. But to be safe, my fiancé called ahead of time to make sure they were serving Sushi. The "host" informed us that tonight they are serving sushi. Got the kids ready and headed there. (Mind you we called AGAIN to put our name on the waiting list so we wouldn't be waiting around forever with the little ones). Went in, waited 10 mins (not bad) and we were seated. Ordered drinks. The waitress got the KIDS ICE TEA order wrong, and brought them scolding HOT tea, and messed up my fiancé's drink order as well. His order being a rum and coke, with a side shot of Hennessy. She mixed the rum and Hennessy in the Coke instead. We let it go, she fixed it, so we moved on. Now on to ordering. My fiancé wanted lobster and steak and the kids and I were having chicken teriyaki. We couldn't find a price on the lobster and steak dish, so we called over the "host" and he said he was "unsure, but i think the price is between $50-$59" my fiancé asked him to check because that didn't sound like a valid price. He came back and told us the price was "$54.95". We couldn't believe it. We've been to Benihana's many times and the lobster there wasn't even that price. We were also ordering SUSHI, since that was the one thing we wanted to go there for. We ordered the dragon roll, and that's when the waitress looked at us. She told us that she was sorry but they weren't serving sushi because the sushi chef was unavailable. We informed her that we called ahead of time to make sure and the person on the phone told us that they were serving sushi, and that we could order it from the restaurant side (not just the bar side only). She took the order anyways and went to submit it to the chef. That's when the "host" approached us, letting us know that they "weren't" actually serving sushi. Saying that he's not sure who we talked to, but it wasn't him. Even though during the course of the conversation he admitted to taking our reservation, that we CALLED in. He apologized and said there was nothing he could do. I told him I wanted to speak with the manager and that's when he told us that HE WAS THE MANAGER. I asked him what he was going to do for us since this is the second time this exact issue has happened, and his reply was "There's nothing I can do for you guys. If you want to go eat somewhere else, that might be better for you guys". I requested the owner, or at least his information to contact them, and he then informed me that HE WAS THE OWNER. So, instead of making it right (all he had to do was a discounted SOMETHING, nothing major, just to make things right....but he couldn't do that). So now an HOUR of making my kids wait to eat we got up and walked out. Drove across town to Mikasa and had the BEST customer service I have ever received at a restaurant. From now on, I'm going to Mikasa instead. Half the price for better food and better service. Plus no issues on what we ordered and got the SUSHI we wanted! read more
