Truffleur is a goat cheese that contains Oregon white truffles. Made by Tumalo Farms, an artisan…read moregoat cheese maker in my neck of the woods,it is only produced in years when the truffle harvest is good and in years when it is produced, it is available only for a limited amount of time. (As in January and February.) The bad news is last year there was a poor truffle harvest and so no Truffleur was available. The good news is this year the truffle harvest is good and- WHOHOO - Truffleur has not only been produced but is available by mail order too. So I'll share information about "how to" here. How to access the Tumalo Farms main page. http://www.tumalofarms.com/ How to read about Truffleur. ( http://www.tumalofarms.com/Truffleur-overview.aspx ) How to order Truffleur as part of a combined cheese shipment (of at least 2 lbs total) or by itself. ( http://www.tumalofarms.com/tumalocollections.aspx ) How to order Truffleur as part of a packaged shipment for 10% off and reduced shipping.( http://www.tumalofarms.com/truffleur-trio.aspx ) And if you order the Super Bowl selection, although it does not include Truffleur, here's how to get 10% off your order and reduced shipping with that special package too. ( http://www.tumalofarms.com/SuperbowlXLV.aspx ) I know...who would think of goat cheese and football together? In fact, who would think of football, period? I know...I know...I'm one of sixteen people in the United States completely indifferent to the game. Back to the important thing, good goat cheese, if you're ordering your own custom box of multiple cheeses, you might also want to add to the order, along with Truffleur (with white tuffles), some others like: Remembrance (with rosemary), Pondhopper (using a local beer in the cheesemaking process), Capricorns (with peppercorns), Fenacho (with fenugreek) or Classico (and better yet the Classico Reserve). And if you order the cheese now so it arrives before February 6, the date of the "big game" my husband tells me, and do watch the Superbowl (the only reason I can think of to do that is for the commercials and the food at the party), while others are eating hot dogs and potato chips, you could be eating Fenacho stuffed dates, or Pondhopper mac n cheese, or grilled Poblanos stuffed with goat cheese raisins and hazelnuts. (Recipes on the Tumalo web site.) If you live in central Oregon or in the Valley area, from Eugene through Portland, you can probably find Truffleur in local specialty markets, or even perhaps in bigger markets, like Market of Choice, that normally carry other Tumalo cheese products. (Although looks like Whole Foods may not be carrying Truffleur this year.) But if you're outside the normal range of Tumalo Farms distribution, isn't the ability to "e order" a good thing? Unlike football. :-)

Food and service was absolutely incredible, the Bavette blew all of my expectation out of the water. That was an incredible meal and the scallops specifically easily rivaled my favorite Michelin recommended Japanese favorite in San Francisco. The brioche popup was fantastic in itself as a starter and I had it side by side with the bacon wrapped date. The friggin date was even spectacular. This was a knockout meal for being all the way up in Oregon. Not only can I not wait to come back, I think I'm comin back in 2 days... Even my drink was great, I was giddy as can be to see a rum based cocktail with The Funk on the ingredient list. Well played RBC... well played.

Exceptional! We brought a friend for his birthday because he wanted a great steak. They ordered the porterhouse because it would feed the 3 steak eaters and had the cuts they wanted. Unfortunately, despite the med rare order, the filet was well. The other side was med rare and tough, but for $90, you kind of expect perfection. What was perfect? Brioche popups, radicchio salad (I could eat this daily for the rest of my life), salmon (mouth is watering thinking about it), corn ribs (pretty good but I won't get them again). We shared the lava cake--perfection--and the butterscotch pudding cake. Cocktails and wine were sublime. I hate to withdraw a star, but a $90 steak should be perfection. We'll be back for sure! We love RBC!

The overall flavor of the sandwich was good. Steak was tender and onions were well caramelized. I did expect bell peppers on all philly cheesesteaks? but this one did not have them. The staff was happy to accommodate both steak and extra chicken which was nice. The only thing I was really disappointed with was the size of the sandwich. It was pretty lean with the toppings, and even with extra meat it still felt a little lacking.

This place puts out a decent sandwich, a bit light on the amount of meat that they put on a sandwich, the roll was OK but not great either. I come from the Philadelphia area and haven't had a really good steak sandwich anywhere south of Delaware or west of Harrisburg. YMMV. I'm probably being a bit harsh for a 3 star review. I just wish that someone would be able to get it right. If you're not from the tri-state area put on an Eagles jersey, grab a soft pretzel somewhere and and a can of Rolling Rock and just pretend - you could do worse. But really.... like Dorothy said "There's no place like home".
