Been here a couple of times but not so recently...until Sunday. While I was still stuffed from my meal at Yamamori I felt that there was still room for ice cream, as there always is! And why not end off the Israeli lunch than with sea salt ice cream? But it wasn't as salty as I remember it from the last time. It was more Sea of Galilee (which is really a lake) than the Dead Sea and I was left feeling a little vanilla. read more

The best ice cream place in town no doubt about it. I never cease to be amazed walking down Grafton st seeing the queues at Gino's when really Murphy's is where it's at. Their flavours are unique and amazing. The latest delight I had here just today was a double serving of caramelised brown bread ice cream (think the best soda bread you've ever, buttered. Now think of that in ice cream form. Sound weird? Yes, but OH SO GOOD) and Gin flavoured ice cream. Oh my goodness. Cap that off with the swing at front of the shop, grab your ice cream and sit on that swing and just forget all your troubles. Because that's exactly what will happen. It's a pure & simple recipe for guaranteed happiness. As the writing on the cups say "if this cup has caused you to smile, then our job is done". We went to this place specifically because it had tremendous Yelp reviews, but were pretty disappointed. For €4 you only get this little tiny sized cup of VERY small scoops. The ice cream was medium quality but the flavor options were pretty good. It isn't as smooth or rich as gelato, so it doesn't feel like it is worth the gelato-level prices. read more

The hype is justified This is the real deal While Ireland's culinary prowess is, ahem, not that great compared to the rest of Europe, this is squarely on the 'thumbs up' territory Not to say I would bother with the Irish Coffee flavour again, but the Caramel Honeycomb is top notch! Love the service and friendly staff. They always take the time to chat and let you sample until you choose the flavour of you fancy. I personally am in love with cinnamon but have been told that it can be overpowering when paired with another flavor. Lots of people enjoy the salt, but I'm not adventurous to try that one just yet. Yummy ice cream and lovely staff - what's not to like? read more

Everything about Murphy's will make you happy. Whenever I have a serious ice cream craving (which happens a lot) this is the fairytale land my mind wanders to - and my body eventually follows soon after. The staff is one of the most cheerful in Dublin - and who wouldn't be at the very least content to work surrounded by all that yumminess. The ice cream is top notch, with a good consistency, and some of the flavours are just to die for (I recently tried apple sorbet + spicy cinnamon and had to make a huge effort not to go back immediately for more). Keep away if you have absolutely no control over yourself at the sight of ice cream. In case you need an extra excuse to drop by you can always go with "I'm just going to try the new flavours...", since they change them all the time. I love to go by Murphy's for a small cup of ice cream after dinner or as a small afternoon snack if I'm around the area. read more

This would be one of my favourite places to go for ice cream in Dublin! They have some great flavours you don't normally find elsewhere; my favourites are the sea salt, Irish coffee and the rum raisin ones! You can also buy a tub of ice cream to take home and can customise up to 5 flavours! Although a tad more pricy than buying a tub of ice cream in the supermarket, the flavours they have are amazing and the quality is where it's at! It's also an Irish store too with with it's main shop down in Dingle. They do coffee/ tea and sorbet as well and have a nice seating area in the back. The staff are really friendly and helped me decide among their array of delicious sounding flavours since I can be quite indecisive. Overall, if your looking for some great tasting ice cream, then Murphy's would be my first recommendation! read more

Mmmmm, ice cream on the first sunny day of the year, it had to be done. There were about 14 flavours there. And a few weird ones (Gin flavour? Brown Bread? I wasn't feeling that adventurous) I opted for their most popular flavour, as the girl kindly explained upon arrival, the sea salted dingle. Meh. It tasted just like plain vanilla to me? But, maybe that's just me. My other option was Rum + Raisin, which was good! It's all natural ingredients and no artificial crap. But I paid a shocking 5,50 for two pretty tiny scoops. Wow. One of the best ice cream places I have ever tried. I am not sure it gets better than this. This place is incredible. They have quite a few flavors to choose from. They recommended the sea salt ice cream, which is meant to be their most popular (it sounds WAY better than it sounds) and pairs up really nice with a few other flavors. I tried a pairing with a scoop of caramel and it was amazing. I tried Guinness another time and it tasted like beer in ice cream form but with a good twist too it. The brown bread ice cream is also supposed to be amazing. I have never been much of a dessert person but it is hard to turn this place down after having lunch or dinner in the area. read more

I give very few places the infamous 5 star rating. The ice cream place deserves it, the ice cream is all natural, made with local ingredients, and downright delicious. The staff is extremely friendly and are also very helpful in picking out your dream combination. The honeycomb caramel was my favorite with brown bread coming in a close second. After a disappointing early evening dinner in a restaurant nearby, we had a brainwave to get out of the restaurant & pop to Murphy's for dessert to get our sweet fix! After the poor service in the restaurant, the friendly, courteous & chatty staff in Murphy's were a breath of fresh air! We were in and out in a couple of minutes but on the recommendation of the staff, both chose the combination of sea salt & caramel icecream! Perfect choice! The staff here are amazingly friendly. We were trying to decide what we wanted, and they just began shoving samples at us and recommending their favorite combinations. After a few (6?!) samples I finally settled on raspberry sorbet and it was the perfect end to a night filled with heavy Irish food. The other flavors were also delicious and really creative (made in house) but sadly I'm lactose intolerant. Make a stop after dinner! read more

Hello ice creamy wonderfulness that is Murphy's. Having just spent the weekend in a very sunny Ireland, having an ice cream in this lovely shop has got to be one of my highlights! We were welcomed in by the smiley, friendly staff and offered spoonfuls of Dingle sea salt ice cream. It was deeeee-licious. Creamy, smooth, salty and spectacular. I got a lovely waffle cone filled up with that lovely sea-salty goodness, along with a scoop of tart buttermilk ice cream. It was yummy scrum scrum. The shop was bright and cheerful and even had a daisy adorned swing to relax on whilst scoffing a waffle cone. The whole place was also chirping out cheery irish tunes. Less sweet than most American ice cream but some of the most innovative flavor combos I have seen in a long time. My personal favorite was the brown bread flavor (don't knock it until you try it). This location is great because you can grab a cone, walk through the mall and get to the park for a stroll. read more

I want to give Murphy's more stars to support a charming Irish business but truth be told, I like a bit more going on in my ice cream. Throw a few more chunky bells and saucy whistles in there! But that's just me personally. If you're an ice cream purist - you'll love it! They have a nice sit down café area and be sure to try the brown bread ice cream for a lovely Irish twist on a classic. Also for the lactose intolerant among us, there is more than one sorbet option which surely gives it bonus points! read more

What a treat! Walked in and was immediately greeted. The staff was incredibly friendly and polite. The ice cream is delicious as well. It's a good place to stop with children. Established in 2000.

Sean and Kieran Murphy started Murphys Ice Cream in Dingle, Co. Kerry in 2000, with the goal of making the best ice cream in the world. We now have bigger pots and pans, but we still make ice cream the same way - breaking eggs and using fresh cream, milk and pure cane sugar to make a delicious custard that we flavour with fresh, natural, real ingredients. There's no real trick to what we do, we just take care and use the best of everything. 2000: Opened Murphys Ice Cream on Strand Street in Dingle, Co. Kerry. 2003: Opened a little ice cream laboratory/factory in Baile na Buaile, Dingle. 2004: Launched wholesale tubs. 2005: Opened Murphys Killarney 2008: Published The Book of Sweet Things 2009: Opened a seasonal shop on Slea Head Drive. 2010: Opened Murphys in Dublin.

Granted, I am Canadian so it could be that I wasn't used to European prices, but I'm pretty sure it has more to do with the fact that they know many people passing through the doors are tourists who are willing to pay more than locals (or don't know better). For example, adding a standard-sized macaron to your ice cream cost 2 Euro; at my local Farmer's Market, where things tend to be pricey, a single macaron of the same size is 2 Canadian dollars. It's a discrepancy of about a dollar or half a Euro. That said, their gelato, sorbet, and macarons are all amazing. Both times I visited I got a medium-sized cone; admittedly, I loved the chocolate gelato/raspberry sorbet option so much that I got it twice, both times with a chocolate macaron. Beautiful presentation, as the "petals" are arranged into a flower and the macaron is placed firmly on top. Perfect on an unexpectedly hot day. tl;dr expensive but great atmosphere and food.

My adult daughter ordered the protein pancakes, which were leaden and smothered with peanut butter, with a banana and blueberries on top.I think she had three bites. These things looked good but weren't all that great My daughter ordered coffee, I didn't. Bill was over €50. I don't mind paying for something that's delicious, but this was definitely not it.

The employee was very friendly and got us our treats quickly. The store was small and clean but didn't have anywhere to sit and eat so we took our cones and walked while eating them instead. It's right on Grafton Street so it can be loud outside but if you go at the right time it can be really nice. Definitely go here if you get the chance! But read carefully and you can see two stores in one place: Bubble Waffle Factory (for the sweets and milk tea) and Street Food Factory (for savory options). The street food menu consists of a small but signature menu of beef brisket, beef tripes, and wonton noodle soup. And as a Cantonese, I had to say the quality exceeded my expectations. The beef briskets and beef tripes were braised thoroughly, super tender, rich flavor of spices and seasoning, while the texture of respective parts remained spot-on. The broth base also had great flavor. Portion size was good for the price. For the wontons, they were a bit smaller than the ones I had in another Cantonese place, and they seemed to have small or no shrimp inside, but the intense flavor of minced pork and the bouncy texture suggested the stuffing was of great quality, and the wrap was thin enough to melt in the mouth while also resilient enough to keep the wonton intact. My only wish would be that the noodles would be less runny and bouncier. But overall, I was very satisfied with this place.
