MURPHY'S ICE CREAM Stopped in my tracks today on way out of town. Ice Cream from Dingle said the sign on McCurtain Street. Must be Murphy's, I said to myself. The shop was Kalma Flowers and yes it was Murphy's. Bought myself some (3.00 a tub) of the Vanilla. One little lick of the supplied spoon was enough to confirm that this was a class product. Delicious ice cream with unique flavors, yet a bit pricey. I got a waffle cone with 1 scoop of Lavender ice cream, one scoop of Burnt Caramel ice cream. Odd combo, i know, but i wanted to try new flavors. The lavender was great - not too strong, just the right amount of lovely lavender flavor. Burnt caramel was divine. Yes, to be honest with you, the prices are quite high for ice cream, and the scoops are not really that large. However, the quality is outstanding and you do taste it! Besides the usual flavours some special signature flavours are offered, and all of them are truly delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they also let you try flavours before you buy. Besides regular scoops of ice cream you can also order special cups where the ice cream is mixed together with some other ingredients. Although those cups look nice and taste good, personally, I recommend to enjoy the pure flavours because they taste so exceptionally good. read more

I'm giving this 4 stars because I've been coming here for years and I think it used to be much better. I usually get one of the sorbets when I come and lately I've been finding little pieces of ice in it, which I really haven't enjoyed however all the same it is still good ice cream! This place was on my to-do list before I even arrived in Ireland, and thankfully, it lived up to the hype! I had the Dingle Sea Salt which elegantly mastered the salty sweet mixture that makes my mouth water. The Sea Salt used in their recipe also comes directly from the Dingle Bay. I also would like to point out that the cashier/ice cream scooper was extremely knowledgeable and emphasized and explained the ingredients and exactly where they came from (most from just down the street!). This isn't an experience that I often receive from an ice cream parlor, and I greatly appreciated it. She was great! read more

I had the salted caramel peanut and my wife tried a chocolate sauced ice cream. Would recommend both of them. Worth every penny! You have to come here if you're in Dingle. Our tour guide told us the sea salt flavor was a must. Yummy but pricey! Try the more unusual flavours like Buttermilk and Sea Salt and you'll really get your money's worth. If you don't want to brave the shop in town, which can get quite busy on sunny days, there's a little cafe on the Slea Head drive that also sells Murphy's. This place. Oh my gosh!! So many flavours, so much ice cream and it all tastes so good. This place has so many awards, and I can totally see why. The staff are lovely and answer all your questions as well as inviting you to sample all the flavours. They are also great at recommending what flavours go well together which was awesome as it encouraged me to try flavours I wouldn't normally have. I ended up getting caramelised brown bread, butterscotch and silky smooth chocolate. .. All of which were delicious. I would so recommend coming to Murphy's for an after dinner treat! read more

Have heard great things about this famous ice cream so it would have been rude not to visit Dingle without popping in and trying a flavour or two. We went for a scoop of their most popular flavour Dingle Sea Salt and added a dollop of caramelised Brown Bread. The verdict... SCRUMPTIOUS! From the first little taste it's very obvious they use top notch ingredients. The staff are very friendly too.
