I met Olex to get an estimate for replacement of my 15 year old system which he stated was in good condition but most likely undersized for the house. I just purchased another house and had him check out a 16 year old system that wasn't functioning. He checked out the system and ran some diagnostics. He then pulled out and flipped the circuit breaker to the compressor which resulted in it kicking on. I am surprised the home inspector and another A/C company didn't figure this out and recommended replacing the unit. He mentioned that the system was in good condition, but most likely undersized for the house. No charge for either estimate or diagnostics. I had other A/C companies provide estimates before contacting Murphy Mechanical to make sure I was getting a fair deal. I received a quote from him for replacement since the systems could last another 5-6 years, but I wanted to reduce the electric consumption due to high energy bills. Olex was able to provide a quote that blew the other quotes out of the water. I feel the other companies must either have high overhead or high margins. He replaced one system today and will be replacing another tomorrow. I hope my electric bill is reduced as SDGE keeps increasing their rates. Olex was great! First of all he was very responsive to my request and accommodating in scheduling a time to come out and look at our AC and heater system. He did a thorough inspection, tested the drainage and found no issues other than needing a replaced filter and a little bit of duct tape on the vent. Super honest, which is a breath of fresh air. Fantastic service! Was having trouble getting air to bedrooms in just purchased house with brand new furnace and A/C. Requested several yelp quotes and Olex with Murphy Mechanical was the first to respond (quickly). All contractors responded that they would need to be onsite to evaluate the extent of the job before providing a quote which was understandable, however Olex was the only one to offer the onsite estimate at no cost. Clemente from Murphy arrived on time and did a thorough evaluation and I received a call back from Olex with an explanation and estimate shortly after Clemente had left. Although furnace and heater were brand new, the ductwork in the house had not been replaced so my system was choked and couldn't deliver air like it should. The price quoted for entire house ductwork replacement seemed reasonable and we scheduled to have the work completed a few days later. Clemente and team arrived on time as scheduled and replaced all ductwork in a single day. They were all very professional and kept our home as clean as they possibly could while completing the work. Now we have air moving throughout the house exactly as it should and the system is even quieter! Highly recommend. Heater was not working. Requested a handful of Yelp quotes on a Sunday. Olex responded within a few minutes and scheduled to be there the next day. Also, stated they were offering free diagnosis during COVID situation. Showed up in masks and respected all our distancing requests. Very respectful regarding COVID. After about 15 minutes, stated it was our "smart thermostat"... showing me the heater was fine when he bipassed it's wiring. Offered to replace thermostat but that it would be more cost effective to do myself and even gave me a walkthrough on how to install and recommended some dependable brand names. Even offered to sell me one at his cost if he had one in his truck. He did not but it was a kind gesture. In the end, it was a simple fix and they didn't charge me a penny. I'm always nervous about repairmen of any kind but these guys were polite, professional, and most importantly trustworthy. My mini split A/C keeps running out refrigerant every year, I needed a refill and to find out what is going on with the leak. I requested a quote on yelp and Olex the owner responded in minutes. Talked with him on the phone and they are obviously very knowledgable and experienced. They have done mostly commercial work in the past but are now doing residential because a lot businesses are closed right now. Two guys came out same day and were very fast. Did a pressure test to verify the connections were good then refilled the A/C - at a great price! They are even coming back in a few days to check and make sure everything is still good with the refrigerant levels. I previously was using a larger HVAC company which would charge high rates for their name recognition but then it would always be some new novice repair guy coming out to learn on the job. They'd charge a ton for shoddy work. So glad to find a smaller company with only experts who give a great price. Definitely will use again! read more

His technician Clemente came the next day and repaired the fuse box. He noticed something else was not working so he replaced another part. Slightly higher bill! I mean just the wholesale price for the part was added. Very honest and fast!! It was during a heatwave so I loved the quick response. Qualified repair work! I had a furnace issue (it wouldn't stop running) on a Saturday; Olex was able to find time in the afternoon to stop by when no other companies even answered the call. He came by and was professional, wore a mask, and looked into the issue for 20-30 minutes. The issue was not an easy fix and likely required a control board. Given the system was somewhat new, he recommended I wait until the weekday to call the company that installed it to potentially get it covered under warranty, instead of charging me a lot of $$$. He did not charge for his time, and helped me unplug the furnace so that it would at least stop running. In case of repair, I would definitely recommend and use Olex again. read more

About 3 months ago, we started having issues with the A/C system that came with our house when we purchased it. Until we found Olex and Murphy Mechanical, time and time again we had to shell out money to have the issues diagnosed (more like misdiagnosed). As soon as Olex did his magic, everything worked flawlessly!
