I visited Muraya really excited to try the pistachio pancakes, but I was disappointed to learn they don't come with any side proteins and even when I asked to purchase a side, it wasn't an option unless it was a shareable plate. Because of that, I ended up switching to the burger with a fried egg added. It was just okay, nothing memorable. My sister ordered the steak and eggs medium-well, but her steak unfortunately came out well-done. On the upside, the cookie butter iced coffee was actually very tasty. Another thing to note: there is no parking, and the lot across the street was $18, which definitely wasn't ideal just to enjoy brunch. What truly made the experience better was our waiter, Gianna. She was exceptionally attentive, detailed, and patient when explaining each dish. Her service was the highlight of our visit and really showed what great hospitality should look like. Overall, mixed feelings about the food and parking situation, but the service thanks to Gianna was excellent.

Absolutely loved my experience here. It's a beautiful space and these live vocalists made us want to sit way past our meal was over I wasn't a fan of the Pan De Bonos. My friend liked it. To me it tasted like sponge bread with Greek yogurt (the sauce it comes with) wasn't pleasant to me. We asked for another garlic type of sauce and they brought the sauce that comes with pork belly and that was great (it was a tomato garlic, green sauce) That sauce was so good . I had it with steak and eggs. Honestly preferred that over the chimichurri. My steak and eggs were absolutely fantastic. I added maduros and avocado . And it was so worth it. The dish seemed incomplete with just the potatoes and eggs. My friends had the Calentado Criollo and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall, I would come back. Service was very pleasant. My friends said that this spot is preferred for brunch and not dinner . Either way Sunday Brunch for the win.

Craving Latin fusion that's so good you'll want to come back for more? This spot is a must-try. I went back for a second time just to confirm my first impression, and they are consistently fantastic. Service is outstanding! They're not afraid to get creative, like letting you choose between Argentinean or Guatemalan rum for their incredible mojitos. For the ultimate experience, ask for Ricky; he's the drink and food whisperer who will guide you to all the best menu items. And if you're celebrating a birthday, be ready to feel like a celebrity. As a special touch, photographer Dina captures a great shot of your group and gives you a framed photo--a perfect keepsake from a memorable night. You'll definitely want to come back for another round.

Beautiful space, staff are extremely pleasant and very friendly. Went on NYE, so there's a special NYE menu. I ordered the salmon dish and it comes with a charred corn velouté and a sweet corn tomalito. Personally, I'm not a fan of the tomalito but that's mainly because I don't like cornbread or cornbread things. Everything was great! From being able to make a reservation online, to the friendly staff at the host stand when you arrive, to the excellent server that we had, to the additional weight staff that came by to check on us... Would definitely return!

We really enjoyed the overall dining experience. The food was fresh and tasty. Our waitress was very attentive and she made sure our overall experience was pleasant. The brunch menu had just enough options so it wasn't overwhelming. Also the band was incredible! The only downside was the hostess experience. The young lady acting as hostess was not very communicative. She took my name and really didn't give clear instructions or expectations and walked away. I had to return to the desk to get clarification from the gentleman that was working. Considering it was very busy and people were everywhere, clarity is extremely important. Fortunately this did not put a damper on the whole experience. I look forward to exploring the dinner options!

The live music was great and the drinks were good. Unfortunately, the food is stale and bland. I ordered this shrimp dish attached and was very disappointed. My entire table was disappointed with their meals. Our waiter randomly offered us around a shots at a discount and we accepted, but when the ticket came, he charged all of us full price. When one of my guests told him that we were charged full price, he got extremely defensive and said he did not. Maybe he thought we were intoxicated and didn't remember? We felt scammed, we were never planning on ordering more alcohol until he offered it at a discount.

We went with a large group of about 8 people so we ordered darn near everything on the menu. New York strip steak, rice and beans, plantains, sushi, red snapper , two bottles of wine, cocktails, shrimp, empanadas, a brownie, and a pistachio cake. Everyone enjoyed our meal, our server: Ricky, was great, and the drinks were tasty. I appreciated that they had a high chair for my baby with a table attached. Most restaurants have high chairs that don't have a table attached. We had a great time. They do have a 20% automatic gratuity for large parties and parking is pretty rough in this part of town so you'll want to take an Uber or public transit.

I can't wait to come back here again! We had such a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in it was amazing. We went to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and had such a great time. I would definitely recommend not only making a reservation but going earlier because in the evening it fills up quick once the music starts. I loved how everyone including the manager dropped by to check on us. I wasn't a fan of the salmon taquitos only because I was hoping some parts would be warm and it's mainly a cold dish. On top of that all the sauces was just a bit of an overload for me. However everything else was sooooo good especially the Barranquillero and Pulpo Cartagenero. At first I was hesitant with giving feedback on the salmon taquitos when the manager dropped by, but I appreciated how understanding he was and his openness to how to improve on certain dishes. We can't wait to come back and try more soon!

Came here on Valentine's Day and can't wait to come back on a non holiday. Everything was amazing! Feedback from me & my Colombian husband: we wouldn't hate seeing some dishes without the fusion or upscale tick in every aspect. I'd prefer the small plates to be a smaller portion and cheaper - so we could order more and try more things, but the portion sizes were larger & therefore the cost not making that feasible. Empanadas were okay and just too big. What we loved: I lovedddd the pork chop, my drink was like a dull experience of cool different taste mixtures with every sip, and the pandebono always hits.

I've been trying to get to Muraya for a long time and it finally happened! If I could give it 10 stars, I would! This place is a gem! The staff is amazing, attentive and gives great recommendations! The food was phenomenal - seasoned and cooked to perfection! The drinks were crafted with superb artistry by their mixologists! And calling this was done in an environment that was top notch! There was a variety of patrons - date night, dining with friends, celebrations... it was an all around great experience and I cannot wait to go back!

First time at Muraya and I loved it! The restaurant was full on a Saturday night and they had a live band which was awesome. The ambiance was great but it was noisy inside. Didn't bother me, but may not be the greatest place to have lengthy conversations if you don't feel like yelling. I loved the food and drinks. I ordered the short rib as my entree, which was amazing! I mean so tender and flavorful I'd order it again in a heartbeat! I also tasted the empanada, sushi and Branzino - all very good! I also enjoyed the mapaya, it was so flavorful. If you're considering a visit, do it!

Definitely recommend checking this place out for brunch! The food is very esthetic. They place a focus on plating, which I really appreciate coming for a brunch/lunch service. The food is filling! It was everything I wanted in a Sunday brunch meal, and it will lead you a nice Sunday afternoon nap. I recommend ordering different things off the menu and splitting it so you have the chance to try everything! Service was great. Very friendly.

Mediocre at best. These Charlotte restaurants are trying to charge NYC prices for barely passable food. Ordered their margarita that tasted like Zambuca. Waitress wouldn't let me choose a different drink but said bar manager could only remake the same. They poured out some and added some fruit juice. Mini Arepas were topped with supermarket chicken salad. ceviche barely had any seafood. Salads were overdressed and underwhelming. Sushi was good but nothing was worth the prices. live band means 2 guys singing along to juke box. We won't be back. read more

A piece of Colombia in Charlotte! The food is amazing, we ordered the Croquetas of Cayeye to start, very crusty and perfectly cooked and for entree the cocktail de Camaron, it comes with 2 tostones very crunchy and it goes really well with the sauce. the service 10/10, firstly they explain the concept and then they give you their recommendations, one of the best things is that they have options for vegetarian and pescatarian. the bartender answered all the questions about the food and made sure the experience was top notch! Did not meet my expectations. Drinks were good but overpriced. Food is okay, the waitress are so confused with the orders and food didn't arrived on time. We were a group of 9 people and after we paid we were told to leave because they needed the table, even when more tables were available. My friend reserved a table for her birthday and was never told there was a max time to leave. I asked the manager and he said well : your friend should had read the website. The location is nice a bit too dark for my taste but they must improve their attitude, service and cost! Also you have to pay for parking across the street. Dinner for one person with no appetizers and only 2 drinks was $80 definitely overpriced due to the quality and service. read more

The most tasteful decor with beautiful low lighting, this restaurant did not disappoint! A grown and sexy vibe perfect for date night or girls night it will satisfy any vibe. The staff greeted you upon entering and the waitress was phenomenal and knowledgeable of what items are on the menu. We ordered a bit of everything I sadly didn't get to take a picture of it all because it came out so quickly! The margaritas were perfectly made end the food was out of this world! Literally everything was delightful!! The ceviche was so refreshing (not pictured) but so worth ordering the sliders was so tasty and the salmon was cooked at the perfect temperate with that risotto I AM HAVING FOOD FLASHBACKS!! This is now my new favorite Charlotte restaurant since I relocated from Pgh., Pa.... Cannot wait to go back!! This place is the perfect spot for a couple that don't want to waste the evening talking to each other. The music is so loud you can't even hear the server. But if you know sign language... this is the ultimate place to go practice! We spoke to the manager and explained (somehow) that we did not know sign language, but he would have none of it... stayed true to mission. read more

This place claims to be Colombian, but the only thing remotely Colombian is the names of the foods on their menu. The foods are subpar even. My family is from Colombia , and not one thing about this place was remotely close to Colombia but the name and a beer I saw on their menu. They had a wannabe Kenny G playing music on the sax and not Latin flavor music. There was Spanish music in the bathroom though, I guess that's got to count for something. The server was nice , I'll give it to them. This place needs more Colombian influence if they want to be a "Colombian restaurant." I would avoid it until they get their act together. read more

The vibe was pretty great. We were sat at a living room style coffee table with chairs directly in front of the band--which consisted of a guy on bongos and both of them singing various Latin music. DO NOT EAT HERE! Went for dinner on 10/19/24. The decor is very nice however it was difficult to have conversation with how loud the band was. We ordered 3 appetizers, 1 of which we had to send back. The other two were just ok. Prior to ordering our main dishes we saw there's a sanitation rating of 88/100 and that they received this rating on 10/16/2 from the Mecklenburg County Department of Health due to numerous health violations including the presence of BUGS, FLIES, and half eaten food stored in the freezer. DO NOT EAT HERE!! We were also charged for the incorrect bill. read more

Cool place for beer or wine, share tapas. But didnt impress me much. Service was slow, Margaritas were off, dont order sushi, and octupus was hard. IF I go back, maybe to sit outdoor for beers and people watching. Nice ambiance, live music, parking. read more

The food is fantastic. Authentic Colombian with enough contrast to the American cuisine to attract all parties. The drink's however, world class.. some of the best bartenders in Charlotte and would be happy to dine there again. (We sat at the bar at 10pm, kitchen closes at 10:45 which is a plus, wonderful service. I had the la jubilada spicy, and my fiancé had the old fashioned which was a perfect match to the original) read more

What a beautiful place!!!! The atmosphere is perfect , the ambience so beautiful . The perfect selection of bar cocktails made our night . 5/5 The food flavor, omg can speak by it self . We did try few appetizer and were all amazing ,the presentation is a 5 star. And you can't leave without the desserts because is something to die for . Service was 5/5 Nico at the bar so attentive, Ricardo was ready to help all the time we can said all the staff is going to go extra miles to make your experience the best . Just finished a great Father's Day meal here (brunch). We had a delightful experience from the food to the atmosphere to the amazing & friendly service by the entire staff and specifically Ricardo. We forgot to take pix of the food but between us we enjoyed the short rib sandwich, salmon Benedict, Arroz Frito & Mini Arepas (ate as a meal). The music is way too loud in this restaurant. We asked the manager multiple times if he could ask the band to turn down the amp, but he said there was nothing he could do. Service was incredibly slow and unfortunately, everyone in our party received their food at different times. Finally, the food itself was mediocre. Excellent food, service and ambience! We love love, love the ceviche (favorite) , the pulpo, the potato sushi (2nd favorite) and the incredible portion of guava creamer brûlée. Colombian lounge inspired, excellent music. The staff was on top of everything. You really must try it! read more

I was eager to try this spot for brunch that had been on my list for a while, but my experience left much to be desired. The venue had a nice appearance, but unfortunately, that was the only positive aspect of my visit. My boyfriend and I ordered the ube pancake, Lomo Saltado, and espresso martinis, and were disappointed with every item. The food surprisingly arrived very quickly, but it made all sense as soon as we tried the food. It was lukewarm and tasted like it had been pre-made and reheated. The pancakes tasted like sponge cake from a bakery, the steak was overcooked and small, and the fries were stale like old McDonald's fries. The espresso martinis were a letdown as well, as they did not taste like the ingredients listed on the menu..how does pineapple air really taste? Overall, I was disappointed by food and drinks, especially considering the price we paid and the restaurant's supposed vibe. I also loved the atmosphere--it had a great vibe that made the evening feel special. However, we went on a night with live performances, and the volume was just too much. It was so loud that it became obnoxious and overwhelming, making it hard to fully relax or have a conversation. My ears are still ringing! Service was a bit of a mixed bag. While the staff overall was friendly, there was someone walking around taking photos and then trying to sell the prints for $40. That felt out of place and cheapened the experience a little. Overall, I'd return for the food and atmosphere, but definitely not on live music nights. If you're looking for a quieter evening, pick another time to visit. read more

As a mother celebrating Mother's Day at a restaurant with her mother and children, I had a terrible experience. Our server was missing for most of the time, and it took a long time for our food to arrive. When the server was around, she accidentally rested the entire food tray from another table on my mother's head. She didn't even apologize for it. On top of that, she didn't explain the menu properly, which made it difficult for me to order. When I asked for sweet tea, she said they didn't have it and offered lemonade instead. But when she returned, she brought a mocktail instead and charged me $8 for it three times. To make matters worse, she added her own tip to the check only after she rested the food tray on my mother's head. It was a terrible experience, and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

The food quality was shockingly bad, and I found the prices to be completely unjustified for what was served. It felt like I was paying a premium for subpar dishes that lacked flavor and freshness. Moreover, it was disheartening to witness how the staff were treated. The management seemed to yell at the servers and create a toxic work environment. It's clear that they underpay their employees, which only adds to the overall negative atmosphere of the restaurant. It's unacceptable to see such poor treatment of hardworking individuals. I was really excited about this place and as a Colombian, I was sooo looking forward to my country flavors... In all honesty it was a bit of a disappointing experience. The menu items were confusing and I couldn't really make up my mind. When I finally decided on the snapper, it was raw inside and the risotto that came with it was just weird. So definitely not impressed with the food and the menu. I did like the ambiance and the service was decent as staff and management came to apologize about the snapper incident.
