Best for groups of 2 or takeout food. Cocktail list was affordable (for DC prices) and had a lot of funky options. I got a gin pickle soda - loved it. Thought it could've been even pickle-y-er! I thought the Orange Julius and espresso martini sounded great too. Seemed they had some batch cocktails ready to go so my drink was made quickly. Is definitely come back if I was in the area!!

Sandwich was huge, although it came out to be around $20 post-tax. Service was friendly, location is central, and the ambiance is ok - a bit loud and dark, sometimes difficult to hear my friend sitting across from me. There's a 5% service fee that is automatically charged, and it's written on the menu (and of course on the check) - but the options on the machine for tipping still starts from 20% which seems like a sneaky, dishonest, and greedy tactic.

An Italian sandwich the size of Texas... sign me up!…read more I went into this market when I was exploring Georgetown one day and I naively ordered an Italian sandwich and once they received it I realized it was big enough to feed a family. I found the cutest little park bench and decided to dig in. Needless to say I had left overs but I could have found a way to eat this whole sandwich because it was that good! Every topping was homemade and you could tell. Def a must stop in DC.

The sandwiches looked epic and the photos of the place looked adorable for a local joint. We walked over from our hotel in Georgetown and were overwhelmed by the sandwich choices. Caught between the Grinder and the Pastrami, we went with the employee's suggestion for the latter. About 5 minutes later we were handed a wrapped sandwich the size of a football. We found a quiet spot to unwrap and enjoy it and dug in. Frankly, I wouldn't order it again, and I think we would have enjoyed the grinder more. It was just a huge pile of meat on pumpernickel bread with mustard. Flavor was meh. Neither of us was overwhelmed for nearly $25. Props for the cute European goods in the shop, though, and the employees were courteous and friendly. But next time I'll look elsewhere for lunch.

I returned nearly after a year and happy to see improvements in packaging. Love foil wrapping because it does not leak and holds the sandwiches better. I heard good things about their sandwiches. My go to is normally Mangialardo's on Pennsylvania Ave in SE DC or Carl's Subbs on Rhode Island Ave in NE DC. I think I will stick to both of them next time. The staff was very friendly and helpful to me as a first timer but the sandwich was totally disapointing! NOT worth it, at all. I ordered a 9 inch capicola, ham, and cheese sub on the hard roll. The roll was very good and fresh but I couldn't taste the cheese or meat in the sandwich because there wasn't enough of it. I tasted the bread, the toppings of lettuce, tomato and onions. I decided to deconstruct the sandwich and found exactly 4 very thinly sliced pieces of meat and 2 very thinly sliced pieces of cheese as pictured clearly in the photographs. I also noticed that the they have different prices for the same type of meats. For example, they have a $29.99 per pound Capicola and one for $9.99 a pound. I asked which went on the sandwich and of course it was the cheaper one. That wasn't surprising and getting my sandwich back to the office. I decided not to eat the rest of the meatless sandwich and just take the loss. I wouldn't come back nor would I recommend a friend to try it

I was in the neighborhood for a couple days for work and this shop was only two blocks away. Two things I love- a good sub and a short walk - so it's automatic for me. As long as you're ok dropping $25 on lunch, don't miss this place. Honestly you can probably make this a two part lunch/dinner portion anyway. The subs are big. The toppings are plenty. The bread is perfect. They have my favorite like of drinks, Just Iced Tea, and even Utz Salt and Pepper chips. It has their homemade Italian dressing, salami, hot capicola, and provolone. I re-ordered it again! My mom also ordered several desserts: house made cannolis, banana bread pudding, oreo cookie mousse, tiramisu, and chocolate mousse cake. Everything was wonderful! The sandwich was stuffed with fried eggplant, grilled zucchini, stracciatella, tomato, arugula and roasted red pepper spread. The Parmigiano sandwich with eggplant was more like a Caprese sandwich with fresh mozzarella cheese, greens, tomato, and crispy thinly sliced eggplant stuffed between scrumptious moist Focaccia bread. This isn't a traditional sloppy Joe's Eggplant Parm sandwich (there's no marinara sauce!) While the ingredients were neatly tucked inside and I enjoyed the sandwich, the sandwich particularly was a little bit dry and I think a bit of sauce like pesto or marinara would go a long way. I got the Caprese sandwich which was good, but it could really use a bit of salt. If it was an option to add Bacon, I would've definitely done that.
