New Indian Restaurant in Cedar Hill Tx. Walking in you find a bright, clean & crisp atmosphere with comfortable seating. We were seated quietly and Arron (who took our order) was very nice & gave us time to peruse the extensive menu. They weren't busy, perhaps 3 other tables and a few waiting on takeout. We wanted to try a few offerings so we started with the Veg Samosa. The pastry was golden brown and filled nicely, flavorful was light and the cilantro/ plum sauces. Then we tried the Tikka salad (more than enough as a full meal) vegetables were fresh & chicken was tender. Could have been flavored/seasoned a bit more. Of course we ordered some Naan (garlic & bullet). Unfortunately the placed the orders together and it was difficult to tell the bullet (spicy) from the garlic. Also, many piece were overcooked on the bottom. For the entree I had the Lamb Biryani. Good, but rice and Lamb was a bit dry and lacking a bit overall. She tried the Goan Chicken curry (the menu said it was a MUST TRY). It was good with plenty of chicken. Her rice was not overcooked. Overall, everything looked great, just lacking some flavors and no real wow factor. Also, while service started out strong. We never saw Arron again. No one asked how our meals were (until I was paying) no refills on tea & only water towards the end of our meal. That & the flavors is why we went with a 3.5 rating. We still recommending giving Mumbai a try. Perhaps they are still ironing out the kinks. Fingers crossed!

You can view my photos and they tell the entire story. I was told my plate would look one way, but got was NOTHING like the picture. I was so excited about this place but when I got home to eat, I was very mad and disappointed. The young lady that took my order was pleasant and very nice. But.... I hate I didn't check my food before I left because the drive was too long to go back. Check my photos on the other post because it won't allow me to post them here. Someone needs to be scolded for serving my food like this. Sincerely, "Mad and Angry"

The food was amazing. Sadly I didn't make the review in the moment and I've forgotten what we ordered. I will definitely be back. The restaurant is beautiful and it was very quiet during the time that we stopped.

I pass by it all the time on the way to the gym, and finally decided to try it today for the first time. We ordered the Mango Lassi, Butter Chicken, Allepey Prawns, Garlic Naan, Butter Naan, Roti, Mint Chutney, Raita, and Lasooni Gobi. Everything was really good here, and I can't wait to come back to try new dishes. I usually always go for the usual at Indian restaurants, such as the tikka masala, butter chicken, samosas, etc. but we decided to try the Allepey Prawns since we've never had it before, and it ended up being one of our favorite dishes we tried tonight. Next time we plan on trying their Palak Paneer and Biriyani, and this lollipop chicken I keep seeing all over Yelp. Nayal was our server, and he was very patient and attentive with us since we took forever to order. All of the staff here was pretty friendly actually. This location is across from Walmart on Uptown Blvd. The Lasooni Gobi was also really good, their cauliflowers still had a slight crisp even when they were sauced up, and was very flavorful and fragrant. Out of all of their naans the Roti was the crispiest, the garlic was really flavorful, and the butter/original naan was a nice balance of both slightly crispy and soft, pairs well with all of the dishes. The ambiance is nice and quiet but with a good volume of music playing in the background, which accommodates the vibe lounge since they offer wine and beer. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

The name on the building is different than the name on Yelp. When I got there, my food was ready and checkout was easy. The food was so spicy! And very flavorful. Their chicken lollipops were great and I would try them again with a different side. The butter chicken had a nice spice but was I expecting a slightly different flavor. Their naan was slightly burnt so I didn't get to try it and enjoy to take the edge off. It was a little hard/crunchy. I would go again to try other items!

Our server was very friendly, and excited to find out it was my wife's first experience with Indian/Nepalese food. The Naan was perfect. The Murg Rara was very well seasoned and balanced, but could have used a little more heat for my taste. The pan fried chicken Momo's were fantastic and I throughly enjoyed the chutney they were served with. We did order a side of Raita as a milder sauce. The tika was excellent and the portion was large. Enough that we took over half of it home. The dining room was clean, modern, and inviting. We hadn't left the restaurant and were already talking about what to order on our next visit. Can't wait to go back! A true gem of a restaurant.

I really enjoyed the vegetable momos I got here--the flavor and crunch from the onions was so pleasant, and there was a hint of bitterness in the flavoring which I surprisingly didn't mind. It was flavorful and so delicious and it was amazing with the sauces on the side. I also ordered the himalayan vegetarian thali set, but since this was my first time trying a thali set I'm not sure how it compares in general. It was a nice experience but I only really loved the curry with mushrooms. However, I had this later as leftovers and it surprisingly tasted even better that way. We also tried the paneer tika masala and I'm so glad we got that. It was delicious, full of flavor, and went really well with the garlic naan. I also liked how generous the one order of naan was.

They're known for their absolutely fantastic lunch and dinner buffet with prices that are hard to beat, especially in this economy! I don't eat there in person often, but it's one of our top go-to spots for takeout/delivery. I swear it's just as good delivered to your doorstep as it is at the restaurant itself. They really know how to securely pack up a to-go order, I'll tell you that. I know we don't live far away, but still. It always arrives piping hot. Besides the obvious and ever-beloved chicken tikka masala (insanely good), I'm a big fan of their Mulligatawny Mughlai Soup (lentil soup with rice and chicken). It's super savory with a little lemony brightness. Ultra comfort food! We're also big fans of their veggie biryani: super fragrant basmati rice all dolled up with fresh veggies, paneer, raisins, and almonds. We also love their Bombay potatoes (spicy potatoes with mustard seed) and their Chana Masala Punjabi: spicy chick peas, potatoes, and onions in a tomato and onion gravy. How good does that sound?!

The 3.9 star Yelp average is too low for this business and is likely due to the petty complaints of entitled customers. We have had Indian food everywhere both in the USA and internationally except for India itself. We have also eaten homemade Indian food made by immigrants. In light of this experience, SI food is in the top 2 Indian food restaurants we have ever eaten at. On our visit on a Sat night around 6:00, they were moderately crowed with low to average noise level. The shared lot gets full but you can find parking further away in the lot. There are several other good restaurants in their strip mall. Sadly, the BUFFET is ONLY offered on WEEKENDS now. However, neither the items, quality, nor price has changed much recently. They have their take on the traditional and common Indian buffet items: chicken Marsala, vindaloo, paneer, etc. Consequently, the buffet pics I posted years ago are still accurate. This is a family owned business. The wife is hostess, waitress, and cashier. The husband makes the naan fresh while you eat and you can watch him through a window. It is a little thicker and fluffier than some other places and has less "toppings" (garlic etc.), but tastes great. The soup in the buffet changes periodically. We definitely recommend giving these guys a try. The buffet is a great value if you eat a lot or if you want to try their menu items to see which you like. The regular menu is great if you want takeout or know which items you like already.

October 2025 7:00ish…read more Location: Bowen street, where Ho Ho's Kitchen used to be. Next to 24 Hour Tacos. Staff: Very sweet/ pleasant. Quick. I was taken care of in less than 10 minutes. Food I ordered: Butter Chicken Combo (I ordered medium spice), which comes with rice, naan (I got garlic), one samosa, and a salad (which I believe has sprouted mung bean, chickpeas, corn, cucumber, orange bell pepper? Some sort of Veggie mix). This combo did not come with a drink. I ordered through the drive thru- which was soooo convenient. You have to pull up to the window to place your order and pay-- the drive thru speaker did not work and had a sign that tells you to pull around. Price : $16.23 after tax, which is pretty average for this meal. To go presentation : The samosa and naan were both wrapped separately and labeled. The butter chicken, salad, and rice came in a plastic container, and the food was all separated inside of that container. Quality: The food was hot (temperature). Spice level for medium was just right. I would not go up a level. The Butter chicken was good. The sauce was sweet with good spices, but not overly sweet. Usually, I go to Roti in Dallas, but this would be an alright substitute, for sure. The naan was good, buttery and soft-- they cut it into fourths. The salad and samosa-- I'm glad I tried it just to experience it, but both I've never had before, and I wouldn't have to have them again. Not nasty, but I usually don't get anything outside of chicken, naan, and rice. Quantity- I will preface with saying that I am full!! But- I wish more chicken came with the combo. I'm used to getting Indian food and eating off of it and saving the rest for lunch the next day. Tonight, I ate all of this. There were five pieces of chicken (yes, I counted) drowned in the sauce. I ended up cutting them in half to "have more" (girl math) with my rice. Hopefully, next time when I go, and I just get the rice and butter chicken, there's more chicken-- since that would be the only thing I'm ordering. If there's not? The rating would go down, whenever I give an update. Will I return? Absolutely. I'm not sure if there's a drive thru anywhere near here for Indian Food. They're winning!
