I cannot believe I haven't reviewed this place yet.. (EDIT: I have, I just forgot lol) This is the only Indian restaurant I have been going to and will continue to go to. Alone the food is amazing. I've tried too many things and have been more than satisfied by everything I've ordered, so all I can say is, anything is great here. However if I can recommend something specific, it'd be the Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Vindaloo with Goat or Lamb, the spinach paneer, the sampler plate, the garlic naan, the paratha, the cauliflower... The list goes on. All that aside, the customer service is amazing. They remember everytime I walk in and ask how I am and/or my family if they aren't with me. The service is quick and very polite. 10/10 I highly recommend a visit. read more

Very unassuming from the exterior but once you're inside you'll see well spaced dining spots along with beautiful decorations. There are no physical menus, just a QR code. My friend got the chicken Saag and I got the Lamb Biryani. Both medium spice which was perfect and the yogurt that came with the Biryani was perfectly tart. It's a mixed bag. I usually get samosa or gobi manchurian app and a veg dish - dal makhani, chana masala, saag paneer, mixed vegetable curry - and enjoy all of it for sure. Plus they make it SPICY when I ask them to. Love that. But when I have come with others and we get a variety of plates, I start to see the flaws. Dry chicken and lamb in the tandoori plates. Dry hard chicken pieces in the chicken chili. Very greasy chicken manchurian. Fish biryani did not have the right flavors and the fish was dry. Lamb vindaloo chewy and dry. Not sure why there is such a disparity in the veg/non-veg, but that has been our experience. Prices are great. Ambiance leaves a bit to be desired. It's very dark in the back half of the dining room and makes having lunch there feel rather dismal at times. 3.5 stars rounded up because I still really love the vegetarian menu and the staff has been so sweet. read more

India Grill in Arlington was SUCH a pleasant surprise -- easily one of the best Indian restaurants I've tried in the area. I ordered via Uber Eats delivery. I ordered the Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken, papyri chaat and Garlic Naan, and everything was spot on. The tandoori came out sizzling and perfectly charred on the outside but still juicy inside. The butter chicken was rich, creamy, and exactly what you want on a cozy night -- not overly sweet, not overly spicy, just balanced and flavorful. And the garlic naan? Soft, fluffy, buttery... I could honestly eat it by itself. prices are fair, and the flavors taste authentically Indian -- as someone who grew up eating Indian food. read more

The decor in this restaurant was really nice. I liked everything they chose and the restaurant was very clean. Throughout my time here, I frequently saw staff cleaning. The food was pretty good. It's been a minute since I've had good Indian food, and this restaurant did not disappoint. Service was a bit on the slower side, but the servers were friendly and welcoming. My favorite part of the ambiance was the battery-powered candle at the center of the table. It added to the vibes of the somewhat dimly-lit interior. We ordered a variety of appetizers that were all so delicious and flavorful: seekh kabob, aloo tikki chaat, paneer pakoras, and samosa. Besides the samosa, I had never tried any of the other items before, but I loved every single bite of them. I got the chicken tikka masala for my main entree, and it was one of the best tikka masala I have ever eaten. The chicken was super tender, and the sauce was the perfect mix of sweet and savory. This place delivers EVERY.TIME. I tried the chicken vindaloo today, spice level 3/5. It was DEFINITELY spicy but still edible. Note to self, a 2/5 would probably be a little more comfortable. It was delicious, though. The spice didn't overpower the flavors. Also, idk if this happened with the remodel, but the place used to smell like the food they cook here, but now it smells like incense. Not a bad thing at all, just a noticed change. We received our food quickly. It was tasty but not as fulfilling of some I've had. My husband and I ordered chicken tikka masala, vegetable korma, and saag paneer. All medium spice. With 2 orders of naan we had plenty to take home. Add to request pappadums (usually they arrive without being ordered) and extra chutney. The interior is nicely decorated and soothing. Went for the first time last night for dinner, never made it past the 2 appetizers we ordered. They really should specify they load up everything with tons of uncooked red onions! Yuck! I split a chicken tikka masala with my boyfriend and it was enough food for both of us! It comes with rice. We also got the garlic naan and normal naan. I can't recall the last time i had Indian food but after going to India grill I'll need to have it more often. The restaurant is quite large when you walk inside and has a lot of different art within it adding to the ambiance. I ordered the hit beer, very good like a light lager. For dinner had the tandoori chicken and tandoor paneer. Both were delicious although on the tandoori chicken you may still be hungry because not much meat in the pieces we had. The service was ok, took a while for someone to come take our drink orders after being seated but outside of that everything else was great. I aj so recommend the regular naan over garlic naan. Had dinner here before going to the Improv, the restaurant looks really nice inside with a great atmosphere. The waiter brought us water but took forever to come back to take our orders. After ordering the food was delivered pretty quick. I had the Tandoori chicken, which was really good, but there were more bones than chicken on every piece but one. The garlic Naan was very dry with no butter and very little garlic. I wasn't very happy with the meal, but will try them again. read more
