This has very quickly become my go-to place for a really good massage. They are so underrated. They have moved to a location not too far from the original place and now offer couples massage. Their rates are very reasonable. We ended up doing a 30 min foot and a 60 min body massage and let me tell you, I still feel like jell-o 2 hours later. The masseuses are pretty skilled and courteous. Prices have increased quite a bit from $30, now to $45, which is understandable but they do expect 20% tip so come prepared knowing this. I think the therapists work hard so I don't technically have a problem paying the $9 tip but don't really like the judgmental / demanding attitude that sometimes accompanies it. Also note they also charge more if you pay with credit card so best savings is if paid in cash and best practice is to tip your massage therapist directly to make sure they indeed get it. Massage is still pretty decent for 60 min foot massage (which still includes some body massage over ones clothes). I appreciated my therapist could tell where problem areas were and adjusted time and pressure appropriately. My lower rating is mainly due to inconsistent business practices, attitude and expectations by the front desk. I called asking if they still honor their buy 10 get 1 free service card and they said yes. I made 2 appointments and came in the next day and when I tried to pay, the man disapprovingly said they don't honor these cards anymore - I had 9 stamps already, so was planning to pay for 1 and get the 2nd free per what I had been told the day before. I could see potentially not being able to use a free visit the same day it was incurred, but they also refused to even just stamp my 10th visit so I could maybe use the "free visit" the next time just in case they do reinstate the stamp card in the future or maybe it just depends on who is manning the front?. I pointed out the fact that I was told they honor the card yesterday as well as that their business cards displayed at the front still have the "buy 10 get 1 free" stamp card on it, but the guy refused to honor either. He even said the cards weren't stamp cards even though it obviously was, and when I showed him the stamp grid and below it, the "buy 10 services get 1 free", he got angry. If this is their new practice they should not say they honor the card and they should also remove and replace their business cards so that stamp card is not visible anymore. The unfortunate thing with this type of practice is that while they get $45 +tip for this service, they ultimately will lose repeat customers such as myself and patients I would have referred to them. read more

I always get nervous who is going to massage me.. And it was my unlucky day!! High five guys! Well. It was the second time I went there today. The price was not bad compare with other massage place. The service is okay and the place is fairly clean. The reason I gave them 1 star is because at the checkout, cashier was saying "the tip is not big enough". This is the first time I have ever experienced this kind of thing in my life. Speaking the truth I was paying 15% it's not much but definitely fair enough for the service I received. It's just making people feel really embarrassed and uncomfortable by saying that. My new massage spot. Thanks to a ROTD I read, I learned that Mu Lan Foot Spa & Massage offers affordable body massages that are relaxing and much-needed for some TLC. My boyfriend and I came here, expecting to get a foot massage, as we read that it's only $30. With that, you get to sit in a comfy, big chair and not only do they massage your feet in the hour, but also focus on your shoulders, upper back and neck. But when we inquired about the body massage for $50, the employee told us that it was more of a formal set-up where you're in a private room and you can strip down for a full body massage with oil. For only 20 bucks more, it seemed like a deal, even still. Plus, we wanted more focus on our back versus feet. The private room was very nice and smelled like lavender. Massage bed was very comfortable and I loved that they had an electric blanket, to keep you warm. There were hooks to hang items and a basket where I put my clothes in during the massage. My masseuse was awesome! She asked about pressure, if I wanted it harder or more gentle, and asked if I was okay when she heard my joints crack! She also asked if there were areas I wanted her to focus in on. I also liked that after using oil, she used a warm, moist towel to wipe me down, as I've definitely been in massage parlors where they don't provide this service and you're all oily with your clothes back on. Ick! My masseuse was also really sweet and friendly, not rushing me to leave after the massage was done, as she walked me out, provided water and gave me a hug good-bye. Too sweet. Just note that at check-out, they do charge a 5% credit card fee, as they prefer cash. (Gotta remember that for next time.) You can start a stamp card here! After one massage you'll be hooked. After 10 massages you get a complimentary one, and you can also request the same masseuse. They're open late, too, which helps with scheduling. I've had consistently good experiences here with different people. We go for the one hour foot massages, which are a mix of foot and full body. A typical session is 15 minutes on head, neck, arms, then 30 on legs and feet, finally 15 minutes flipped over on your back. Every time varies based on who you get but they generally follow that format. This location is very clean and they cover you with a blanket instead of a towel. They also give you a basket to put your belongings in. It's really reasonable for the hour ($30), so I always tip extra ($10+). Considering how much you end up tipping at a more expensive salon, I like to go off of amount not % here. Highly recommend calling ahead so you don't have to wait when you get there. In fact, in the last 2-3 years, I only went every once in a while, to see if things had improved, but regretfully it only got worse. Yesterday I went and they were empty. I wish they all spoke better english. My party had 5 people all of whom requested specific genders for the massage. Mandarin for me is very choppy therefore I asked a coworker to help me make the appointment in mandarin requesting certain time for 2 females, 3 males for the massages for our party for the 2 hour massage service. When we arrived few minutes before 5 they said they were ready for two people I asked if it was with two female then they rushed us into the room. One was female and one was male. Those two wanted females. Any ways one of my friends came to talk to me and tried to switch back to female but none was available. My friend bite the bullet and just handled the male massage person, well at least tried to. The fact the clothes had to come off was a little unexpected for some of these asian places clothing could be kept on. Needless to say she could not relax and kept laughing. She had to flip over to finish the massage and in that process the man said "your beautiful". A little creepy:( But she handled the whole thing. This place is very Asian with the decors and music. I believe there's some private room, but for the most part, it's a giant dark room with lots of chairs. You get service with full clothes on, there's male and female staff that you can request. There's usually a full staff so even if you don't make an appointment, you should be able to get in pretty quickly. There might be a language barrier, but it's pretty simple to point to the service you want, and it's not like you'll be talking during the service. Like all other reflexology places, the Foot massage includes a hot water foot soak and the massage actually includes a bit of everything (scalp, face, neck, back, arms, legs etc.). They also do have rooms for fullbody exclusively. The inside is nice and clean and professional. The price is slightly a bit more than other foot reflexology places that usually run $25-29. Where else can you get a decent 2-hour massage for $100? Almost no one there speaks very good English but I've been going there for 3 years and have never had a problem. The site says by appointment only, but I almost always do walk-in and have rarely had to wait more than a few minutes. It's clean. I've seen no indication of "Happy endings" and they have a bunch of different offerings to choose from. I get the full body massage in the private rooms. My husband bought me a $100 gift certificate and I went for a $35 foot massage the other day. I gave the masseuse a $10 tip in cash but the lady at the desk charged my "gift card" $45 even though the fee is supposed to be $35. There is now only $55 remaining on my card, which I did not notice until later. This is a gift card, not a credit card, so there is no fee to them, they already received their money from my husband. I will not recommend this place to anyone ever again and reading some of the reviews it sounds like this is a common practice. That's really too bad because it used to be a great business. The massages are good. But I felt like I was forced to tip a certain amount which made me really uncomfortable. In the middle of my massage, the masseuse brought up how the customer the night before was going to tip only $10 for a 90mins service and she said that was unacceptable and the customer ended up tipping her $20 and she thought it was fair. My service was $65 for 60 mins body and 30 mins foot with her. The price is pretty good and I bought a buy 10 get 1 package too. I was about to tip her $10 for the $65 arrive which is over 15%. But then after that her "education" on how much she thought was a fair tip, I was going to tip $15. Unfortunately, I only had $10 and $20 bills and she was starring at my tips so I was pressured to give her the $20. For a $65 service, $20 is a 30% tips. I was not comfortable with that. This was the first time I felt pressured to tip a certain amount. When I go to the chiropractor, the masseuses there reminded me they don't expect a tip, and I don't have to tip every time. The price isn't that much higher for a body massage at the chiropractor office and I can pay with pre tax health saving account money too. That ends up being a similar deal with more professional experience I can get out of it. Not planning to be a long time customer at this place because of the tipping pressure and customer service. I have had some real good massages here and some average ones. Overall for the value, this is one of the better foot massage deals on the Eastside. There is some background noise of an occasional phone ringing or people waiting for their session. The standard foot massage includes half body massage with your clothes on. You get a warm tub to soak your feet and then they will do some face and shoulder arm massage for about 10 mins or so and then move to your feet. The last 20 mins or so you are asked to flip over in the soft big chairs and they will work your back and neck. They usually get out my tense areas. The therapists are really nice there's one in particular I love, however I don't know their name... I wish I did. The reason I am giving it a one star rating is because the last three times I have gone, my appointment has been later than scheduled, the massage therapist are inconsistent, and most importantly- when a friend and I asked to pay separate they still charged us together.. we decided to split it into two cards and they charged us three times. We got two 90 minute massages for $90 + tax. I was charged myself for $180 + tax/tip I left.. and then my friend was charged the $90+tax/tip. When I called to ask for reimbursement or a discount in my massage next time they told me the manager would call me soon. They have not it's been three days and I've called back once since then with the same response. I have also had a situation once where a friend felt very uncomfortable as the therapist who rang him out told him his tip was "not big enough"... I too work for tips, and the tip he gave was fair. I believe it was 18%.. I do understand the frustration when people do not tip well, but to be fair that makes customers uncomfortable and it's unprofessional in my opinion to almost demand a higher tip.. after the last coupes years, I've decided I will not return and will no longer bring friends/family here as I have been. There are many other massage places in the area that are much better- such as Lis spa in Redmond. I don't feel much pain and he is a big guy, so he was scared to hurt me, but after my reassurances he started the job, which he completed very well! With pain the my back, by the end of my massage, I almost fell asleep, as he worked out all of the knots. I've been going to this place for 6 years. Most employees are very good! But just this year 2017, they got a super pro masseuse named SAM. He works almost every day. He is intuitive with what your body needs. So he adjusts pressure according to what he thinks your body can use. You can always let him know you adjust to your liking. He aims to please. The owner is nice too. The place has comfy beds with optional blankets. I love this place. But I do make sure I pay tips with cash because you want to make sure he gets the whole tip! read more
