I brought in a 2021 Lexus IS300 to Muffler Man. The vehicle was much louder than normal, so I took it to them to see what the car needed in order to quiet it down. Upon inspection, the technician Jorge told me the car is straight piped and needs mufflers in order to reduce the sound. He recommended a muffler that he keeps in stock and assured me that it would make the car sound completely stock. Since I've done business with this shop before, I decided to trust him and have him install the mufflers (one on each side) at a total cost of $500. I took his word that the car would be quiet after the install. After the job was complete, we started the car up and it sounded EXACTLY THE SAME. There was no difference in noise level after the installation than there was when I brought it in. I was disappointed, but hopeful that Jorge would provide a solution. He told me that the other components missing from the exhaust system were the resonators. Once again, he assured me that this would make the car sound like a stock factory exhaust. Regretfully, I decided to trust him again and approved the job ($350 for resonators on both sides). Surprise, surprise, the car sounded exactly the same. When I asked him why, Jorge simply said that "it's a sporty car, it's supposed to sound a little sporty." The truth is that the mufflers he installed on my car were not the correct fit. Jorge installed these mufflers on the car knowing they'd make no difference in noise level. I came in the following day asking for them to be removed but they refused, saying "they're my mufflers now." This shop is content to sell its customers useless junk and stick them with a big bill. I feel like a fool for having trust in them after the business we've done in the past. I'll be advising my friends in the car business to avoid this shop. read more

EDIT: Time of review was originally done sometime in **mid 2018**! Went here to get some aftermarket mufflers welded on to my existing exhaust piping. The shop did not carry certain exhaust hangers that I needed welded on, which was a bit troublesome, but the tech figured out what could work with my existing hardware. Pricing for the work done was decent for the overall quality. I would bring my car here again in the future to get something done if I can't accomplish it in the future. read more

Great experience. Initially came to the shop after I was told by a different mechanic that I needed a catalytic converter changed based on their diagnostic assessment. The guys at the muffler side were upfront and patient with me letting me know why my catalytic converters were fine, which I appreciated and I was referred to the auto repair side. I met with Patricia and she was great. She was patient with me and allowed me to present all the issues which left me feeling like she had a well informed back story with what to look into. I received a call back with a thorough diagnostic and recommendations promptly. When I made my pick up, I was also given a nice write up of the diagnostic with my receipt which I appreciated. Although I felt like I was asking for a lot, they were very accommodating. While all this was going on, they took care of the oil change for me at a very reasonable price which I appreciated. Beware of this place!!!! I took my Chrysler 300 srt8 to replace 1 catalytic converter because of a check engine light on p0430 . Witch is the passenger side converter. Some guy with dreadlocks told me I need both catalytic converters. Tried to charger me $950 for both. Me knowing I only needed one . Im a mechanic myself at a Chrysler,dodge,Jeep,ram dealership . I took my car down the street to another muffler place and the guy there said I only needed the passenger side converter. I would never recommend this place to ANYONE!! read more

These rip off artists charged me $100 to cut off my muffler and replace it with a pipe. Which took them only 15 minutes. When i didnt like how it sounded, and asked them to weld back the original muffler, the guy named George tried to charge me another $45 and said "we dont work for free". What kind of customer service is that?? Terrible attitude. I think if a customer just paid you $100 for 15 mins of work and he didnt like the result, at least have the decency to weld it back for him. $100 for 15 minutes of work? So what, $400 for an hour of labor?? Most places charge $90 per hour labor. Who do these guys think they are? God given talented welders?? Complete bullshit. read more

Called yesterday and informed the tech that pipe between my cat and muffler was completely rusted and leaking, would need to be replaced, and asked for a quote. He quoted my $65 so I went in this morning. I got there around 9am, and was greeted and helped almost immediately. These guys weren't overly friendly, but not at all rude either. The new part was on, welded, and my car was ready to go within 20 minutes of me arriving. My car used to be super loud, and now it's quiet as a mouse and even drives better. The cost ended up being exactly what he quoted, $65 flat and I was out the door with what feels like a brand new car. Holy Snickies did I just get the service of a lifetime ! Let me preface this review by saying I have accumulated about a decade of automotive service advising experience prior to visiting this facility . I woke up this morning and my Lexus GS300 sounded like someone swapped my motor with a small block 350 . Looked at the rear end and too my astonishment, my L/R muffler was hanging on by a thread . I googled any local muffler repair shop and by the grace of god I found Muffler Man ! So.. I slowly drove my way there and was instantly greeted by the bald gentleman I've read about below . It seems people have a problem with his demeanor . Automotive mechanics is serious work , work that lives depend on . His work is subject to potential legal liabilities if not performed to exacting detail . The fact that people have a problem with him being serious about his work is perplexing . This is not chick-fil-a , if you visit an automotive repair facility and the front staff personnel is overly jovial for no apparent reason . Be prepared to be taken to the cleaners ! That kind of disingenuous customer service will certainly cost you extra . As soon as I arrived , within minutes my car was in their shop being diagnosed for free !!! Yes I said it....FREE ! The owner must have some kind of muffler communicating super power hence the "man" verbiage. Because he immediately knew I drove the car from the East coast I.E florida . He said he just had to cut about 7 inches of metal and weld in a pipe . This expedient and exacting service only costed me 85 bucks out the door ! On top of that he was done in like 15 minutes !? Who can hack and weld up an exhaust quicker than a grease monkey can change oil ? The muffler-man that's who , my car sounded perfect when they were done . I HIGHLY suggest you bring your car here for all your muffler and exhaust related issues .
