Alan did great work and his successor Roy is a chip off the old block! Both of these guys are amazing AND honest mechanics! I go to Yoshimura's any time one of my vehicles is acting up and they get me right most of the time! read more

Great people good work. I've been going to Yoshimura's for 25 years. Never had a problem with any work that was preformed.

My son and my significant other have had their vehicles serviced at Yoshimura's. Excellent service.

I've been taking my car here for years along with my family and friends. I've never heard a bad word from anyone. Roy is a great guy and a knowledgeable mechanic with decades of experience. He's always fair and respectful. read more

Sadly, the business has changed hands. I showed up yesterday at 9 am for my appointment and the shop was closed. One hour later, still closed. No response per phone as to why. Spoke with others who were also waiting. They reported that the business has gone downhill since Alan handed it over. Warning to Alan: take your name off the business before it's completely destroyed. Susan G. read more

always seem to have very fair prices. owner is honest. downside, they only take cash or a check.

Beware, the past reviews for this shop were great because of Alan. Now that he is gone, they charge way too much for shoddy work.

Best service and quality I have had from a garage. Dependable and honest work. Great value and great customer service! Would highly recommend. Have taken my two cars here at least two dozen times and each time is just as good or better than the last. read more

Honest automotive shop! A Firestone "recommended" $2300 repair; turned out unnecessary confirmed by Yoshimura! read more

I think this place is good for reasonable prices and reasonable results. Customer service? Non existent. He barely says a word and seems exasperabated at having to speak with his customers at all. For some reason he seems bothered at the business or his trade or maybe there are difficulties in his life. Yah never know why somebody is cranky. So, yah gotta take the sour with the sweet if you patronize his business. read more

Alan is the best. I have been taking my cars to him since i got my license 25+ years ago. prices are fair and hes trustworthy. He doesnt answer the phone all that often so it can be a little challenging to get a hold of him by phone but to find a mechanic that you can trust its worth the inconvenience. read more

HANDS DOWN best mechanic around! I will not go to anybody else. He has been working and my car for years and I have never once been dissatisfied. Great prices, great service, and the owner is just an overall great guy. I HIGHLY recommend. read more

Yoshimura does a good job! The shop is no frills, and they don't really answer the phone, so forget about calling. My fiancee took my car to be dropped off on a Thursday but they were busy and couldn't get to it. He said he would take it early Monday morning - Which he did. But come late Monday, I hadn't heard anything and I tried calling several times, but no avail. I just decided to head to the shop and see what was up. They were doing an oil change and repairing 2 cracked CV boots on the car. So they got that done for $300. The car was done but they didn't call me. He said the only took cash so I hopped in my car and went to the Chase ATM and returned with the cash. Pretty easy. No issues. read more

This place WAS amazing when I started coming here in 2014 and Alan was doing the work himself, but these new kids he's hired to help him out over the past year are ruining the great business he built. Unless you get Alan to do the work himself, the young technicians doing the repairs will half-ass the job and steal any parts you have replaced. Alan has always returned your old parts in case you need them later. Additionally, don't expect anything more than a part swap experience. Go buy the replacement part from the dealer and they will swap it out for half the service cost. But beware, if they service your car and the issue persists or gets worse they will refer you to a dealership for diagnosis and repairs, thereby doubling your cost to fix the same problem. read more

This shop was recommended to me by somebody in the neighborhood so I decided to give them a try to fix my broken AC. I drove there without an appointment and Allen immediately looked at my car without having me wait. He recharged my AC for free and said if it leaks out come back and we'll take a look. When I came back , he again took me in without an appointment. Told me that same day that the part I need had to be ordered from a dealer. He made sure it was okay with me first and that I'm okay with the price. After the part came in(2days) the car was fixed the following day. Allen is extremely reliable, very honest, works fast and knows what he is doing. I'm so happy I found somebody who was able to fix my car so quick without charging me an arm and a leg! read more

Alan is an automotive repair expert. Honest, smart, always nice. I've recommended him to all of my friends.

It's almost impossible to go to a dealership for repairs or servicing after you've been to Yoshimura Auto Service. This very modest, unassuming repair shop highlights the fact that 99% of auto places VASTLY overcharge you for services. Don't go there expecting all the bells and whistles (fancy waiting room, coffee, magazines, etc). Do go there for incredibly reasonable prices, often with things thrown in for free because of Alan's generous nature. I sometimes fear that he is LOSING money when he does repairs on my car. In fact, I tipped him $100 on my last service due to all the extra little things he did - he even put $20 of gas in my car! (I had brought it in empty) My family has been taking all of our cars to Yoshimura Auto Service for over a decade. I live in Berkeley but will drive 100 miles to Sacramento to get my car serviced by Alan. That's how great this place is. SOOOO nice to be able to trust a mechanic and not worry about getting ripped off or sold unnecessary services. read more

My radiator sprung a leak on Dec 30th and I needed my truck for the New Years weekend. I called Yoshimura's Auto Service and he replaced my radiator that same day. Incredible service! read more

It's super rare these days to find an auto mechanic who will not only tell you what wrong with your car, but will tell you how to fix it yourself for free. Rarer still is an extremely competent mechanic who will also help you fix the issue he told you how to fix when you can't quite get it done yourself. Alan at Yoshimura automotive is such a mechanic. After I had spent a couple of hour trying to remove a part, I swung by and he immediately had me pull in and helped me fix the issue in minutes, FOR FREE. He has also fixed other things for me far below the going rate and I trust him completely. MY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!! read more

I was referred to Alan by an auto dealership and never looked back. He has serviced all my cars as well as my family members and friends! We couldn't have found a more reliable and responsible mechanic. I would recommend Alan to anyone who has car issues. He's the best! read more

Fear car mechanics no more. Alan and crew are knowledgeable and so darn kind. They ferret out problems and are ridiculously reasonable on pricing. We are so lucky to have such expertise in the neighborhood. Thank you so very much for what you bring to the community and for all your help Alan!! read more

Just bad customer service maybe they are just full stomach due to high volume of business.

Used to be great. Told him in advance when I would drop it off. Had my truck for 1 week and DID NOT TOUCH IT. Had to go else where.

So nice! I've had them fix a flat for free and they fixed a simple issue for my mom's car. Friendly service, super reasonable pricing, and quick turn around. Definitely recommend to anyone. read more

Yoshimura Auto Service is awesome! Go to this place if you want to fix your car quickly for a reasonable price. My car needed a new idler pulley. There was a bolt that needed to be taken out as well. I couldn't drive with power steering until it was fixed. I called Honda and got a quote for $500, including parts and labor. I decided to check out Yoshimura because it was highly recommended by my family and friends and it's at a convenient location right across from Oto's on Freeport Blvd. My car was fixed and good to go in under a day. Alan charged me $120 only! I couldn't believe that Honda had quoted me $500 minimum and Yoshimura got it done for so much less! Yoshimura has totally made a repeat customer out of me. I have no reservations whatsoever about recommending Yoshimura Auto Service to anybody who needs to have their car fixed in the Sacramento area! read more

I have been calling this shop to get a hold of someone for days and. Nobody answers the phone or has returned the call. When you call... the vm states to call another number... when you call that number the vm tells you to call that same number. NO ONE EVER picks up and I called several times throughout the day. HORRIBLE! read more

Alan is exceptional. He has done an amazxing job taking care of my parents and their vehicles over the years... I was in town to take care of some business and needed something fixed. Yoshimura is extremely reliable and I trust them completely! He helped us sell our 2004 Camry a while back and is always extremely honest with me about my car problems, even if it means sending me to someone else to get a cheaper fix. They also do super cheap oil changes. I will continue coming here for ALL my car needs. read more

You can trust Allen. Honest mechanic does good work with good prices been going him for years

I've been coming here for almost 20 years starting with my acura legend, trailblazer, various cars that he fixed for a considerably less than the other mechanics. He may not say much, but he does great work for probably 30 percent less than you would expect to pay elsewhere. I'm grateful for a place like this. read more

Alan and his crew did a 120,000 mile service on my 2010 Toyota forerunner including front and rear brakes. Great service, great pricing, and delivered as promised on time. read more

Alan knows what he is doing and will always be more than fair with you. If you need a major repair or just a simple oil change, you can rest easy that he and his staff will get it done right and not have to worry about getting ripped off. read more

I really can't add a whole lot to what other people have said. He REALLY knows what he's doing. I have a 25 year old truck. No problem for Alan. The first time I had work done I was expecting the bill to easily be $250. Alan only wanted $160. You get top quality work with Alan and for an almost unbelieveably low price. And on top of that, he gives free advice. I'd bring my truck here from the Bay Area too; even further. Don't bother with anybody else... I like the idea of tipping him. He earns it! read more
