Went in for a fuel pump replacement. I supplied all the parts needed. During the replacement hoses coming off my gas tank were damaged. First I was told they could seal the damage with "sealant". That obviously didn't work and they had to purchase me a used tank. That was installed and fixed my fuel pump issue. But, they never fixed my hoses. I now get an check engine light for an evap leak. I had difficulty removing a bolt from my coilovers and Dion was able to remove it for me for free. Dion is a very nice person and honest. I went to a shop nearby before I went to Dion and he wanted to charge me $80 for two bolts that took 5-10 mins. Will definitely recommend this place and will take my cars here in the future. I came here after hearing a weird and new squeaking sound when driving one day. After Pep Boys tried to sell me $500 worth of repairs, I decided to get it checked out here after a trustworthy recommendation and I am glad I did. Sergio fit me in on a Saturday morning on one days notice and checked out my car right away when I got there. He was professional, friendly, very knowledgable, and did very honest. Luckily the problem was very minor. But I would not hesitate to go back to Freeport Automotive if I was having other concerns or needed a tuneup. It's still a shady business. I mean it just depends what kind of work you're getting done but this place has been like this for many years years ago when I was young my dad told me that it was a bad place he had a bad experience I took my Cadillac there to have the rear lights done some of the tail lights were not working properly. They charged me like 400 bucks and the lights stopped working within 24 hours. I took it to a place over on I believe it's over off of Florin Road not too far from 24th Street and the guy fixed my lights I had no further problems and he did it for about $120 the next time I use this place I had a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor the temperature gauge was going a little high the air conditioner was not blowing cold they didn't seem to know what was wrong with it I believe at first they said your air conditioning compressor I told them I said the only thing I've noticed is when I turn on the air conditioner the fan does not kick into the high mode so I told them I think it's the fan the radiator fan something's wrong since I did clean up under the car and kind of sprayed water on everything not the best idea. But they did not listen to me they said they replaced the compressor within a few hours the car was doing the same thing they actually put a lower temperature thermostat in the car which kicked on my check engine light. So I don't know what that was about I had to put in the right the thermostat and gave the guy 40 bucks to change out the radiator fan that fixed the problem I guess I diagnosed the problem better than the professionals I received a full refund for the AC compressor which Bureau of Automotive Repair said that they could not produce receipts for in short do your due diligence and try to use reputable places unless you have money to burn but then again if you live in Sacramento you probably do have plenty of money so go for it if you look at the reviews that are five star you will see a lot of them say usually not busy it's usually not busy because it's some shady business. If a business is good it will be busy if you go to a restaurant if you go to a mechanic shop if you go to a motel or hotel and it's not busy it means there's no good business being done. What's basically going on with the five star reviews people that work there they have friends and family members right erroneous reviews I went to this place many times being optimistic they either overcharged me and the problem reoccurs quickly it's just I've never had a good experience there and I've had lots of different Vehicles over the years don't be fooled by friends and family leaving good reviews there's no good review to be had most businesses in Sacramento are shady nowadays there's only a few places I would even take my car one of which would be tires to you Fruitridge by 44th one of the last honest mechanics in the business they're only open from 10:00 in the morning till 2:00 p.m. but it's worth it read more

These guys are just the best! Went over today for an auto check for my son who will be traveling out of state. His car had been sitting for a while so we asked for tune-up and all around check. They told us the sparks were still good, (honest) Brakes fine. Only needed to top off fluids, and do oil change... Also gave us helpful hints on tires, and a few other things. Pretty good oil change and repair shop! I really miss moe!!! He was my favorite and I've been a customer for 4 years BUT only returned when Moe was working and when Mitch was the boss! Last time I went, it just didn't feel the same and I feel like I was just an ordinary customer. When Moe and Mitch were working there, they made me feel like my car was getting taken care of and made sure I was a satisfied customer!!! I have 2 cars and I took my lowered 02 honda there and Moe had to use 2x4's to drive my car on the ramp due to the ground effects, and made sure it wouldn't scrape..... When I went when he as working there anymore, my car was taken to the back so I couldn't see it until if was finished getting an oil change. I got home and noticed my front lip was scraped because the dude there probably didn't know how to drive a lowered car.... But I fixed it already and haven't returned.... There prices are okay, slightly higher than other places.... Seating is limited in the wait room.... Shop is older and next to a small market where bums go to get booze!!! read more

So I do want to say that I don't have much automotive service to compare this too. But I'll give my honest opinion of my experience, nonetheless. We usually get our car repaired at pep boys. They have always been good priced for major repairs (we don't do simple things like oil changes there as they are sky high) and they are always fast fast fast. They do have around 6-8 different car garages though and I'm sure more employees. We were SOL however and needed someplace EXTREMELY close to us so we called every business within a certain mile range and decided to just go with this place. That being said we brought our car in on a work day in the morning. They said it was full that day and they wouldn't be able to look into our vehicle until 4 days later. We were bummed but the other places told us the same thing. Damn you pep boys for not being closer, you would have fixed it same day. We love you but you weren't close enough! Freeport Automotive told us they would call us before they started the repairs to discuss cost and if they could even repair it. (What?! It was a simple procedure) but we never got the call. So we decided to call them halfway through the 4th day. They said they probably wouldn't have the car done until the 5th day. Yet when we came in to pay they said it was a "little" under and hour of labor. UGH. okay? Possibly they were waiting on a part to come in? Who knows we never got notified of anything and we were constantly calling THEM for updates. I was beyond annoyed. Especially when we were on the bus riding by the ship at 8:20 am before they opened at 8:30 am and the car was sitting out in the parking lot instead of in the garages. We would have been more than willing to walk over in the morning (a mere mile out of the way of the bus stop) to come and get our car so we could have driven to work instead of standing on a bus full of college students. First world problems I know, but a simple phone call could have prepared us for this... The prices seemed sky high too. I know they have to make a living but the price was way higher than I estimated based on other places and this procedure. But what's done is done and I'm thankful for our car being fixed, nonetheless. Would I come back? Possibly if I was in another pinch. Out of desire? Nah...I would choose elsewhere. read more

No Integrity- I brought my car in for a tune up and they blew my engine and then passed it off to me as if it were a natural problem and then proceeded to charge me for a used engine to replace the one they ruined. Prior to this visit I had taken it into a Subaru dealer to give me a quote after a inspection of my engine for a tune up. I would have had a horrible time trying to prove that there was nothing wrong with my car prior to the visit at Freeport Automotive. Freeport Automotive told me that they would be able to do the tune up for less money than the dealer had quoted me. So I went with them. After their devious efforts to make me pay for their mistakes. I told the Subaru Dealer about my predicament and they said there was no way that my engine would have the problem that Freeport Automotive claimed with the condition it was in when they inspected it. They had my prior performance of my engine on record and let me know the problem at stake could only be due to Freeport Automotive's mistake. I landed up reporting them to the B.A.R. ( bureau of automotive repair). After a thorough investigation I was awarded my $4,200 from Freeport Automotive back to me. These guys had no shame. They would have slept just fine taken my hard earned money from me along with their shameless lies. No integrity. read more
