On April 21, 2025, I took my car to Auto Stop because it was leaking oil. I had been using them for oil changes and had always been happy with that service, so I trusted them with this repair. They diagnosed the source of the oil leak, and because I have an extended warranty, I went through the warranty process and authorized the repair. Their labor rates exceeded what my warranty would cover, so I paid the difference out of pocket. Unfortunately, this is where my experience went downhill. After the repair, my car continued leaking oil for more than a year. I brought it back multiple times, and each visit resulted in another attempt to fix the problem, usually by adding more gaskets. It became clear that they were taking shortcuts rather than properly diagnosing and repairing the issue. At one point, I discovered they had even stuffed rags around the oil pan. After several unsuccessful repair attempts, Auto Stop finally admitted they could not fix the problem. To make matters worse, during the course of their repeated repair attempts, they damaged the upper oil pan. Their only recommendation at that point was to take the vehicle to the dealership. That's exactly what I had to do. The dealership corrected the original oil leak and repaired the additional damage caused during Auto Stop's failed repair attempts, leaving me to pay for work that could have been avoided. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Auto Stop. What should have been a straightforward repair turned into more than a year of frustration, repeated trips back to the shop, additional damage to my vehicle, and significant extra expense. read more

This place was one of my top picks for the car issues I was having. I did not use their service. But I was very happy with the responses and assistance I received to the issue that I was having. I was on my way to this shop, because of the communication and quote that I had received, which was a lot better than the majority of places I checked with. The only reason I did not go here was I was not comfortable with the warranty period that would have been given with the major work that I needed. I brought my 23 Subaru Forester to these guys for rear brake job and oil change. A few days AFTER, no leaks from oil change, no smell of burnt oil no leaks on my driveway so that went well!! Brake job so far is doing well. No noise, no brake pedal vibrations. Parts were OEM pads and rotors. I brought it here because they had good pricing! And obviously quality work too! Dropped off my vehicle and work was done sooner than originally quoted which is a good thing! I paid for what was quoted with no hassles or any sales pitches which I appreciate! The gentleman who greeted me when I first came in right when they opened was pleasant and actually looked like he wanted to be there very easy to talk to and straight to the point. Don't bother. I took my son's car to get serviced. Explained to the worker that it was the spark plugs. I was explained that I needed to pay for a diagnostic of $140 and that it would go towards the work if agreed. They found the misfire was from the fuel injector. $147.17 for spark plugs. $461.95 for the fuel injector. Approved work for the spark plugs only. Got the car back. Signed the receipt of work. Didn't realize that the receipt states I declined all work. What? Called them to inquire about it and was explained that they didn't replace it because not replacing the fuel injector would have blown them spark plugs out. This was NOT explained to me, he did not offer any type of accommodation or $ reimbursed. BAD BUSINESS!!! Sunil says he will own up to the BAD BUSINESS. read more

Had a maintenance requirement on my car, so I stopped by and had a nice experience! I always get serviced at the service center that I got my car from as I trust them since they are the manufacturer of my car. I never thought about getting maintenance done from another shop, but because I wanted a fair and affordable price, I decided to check out auto shops on Yelp, and found this place to have great reviews. I went to see if they can do the maintenance (oil change/filter, rotation of tires), and this place does! Went in around 1:30pm and I was immediately taken care of. I waited about a little over 30 minutes (which is better than 1-2.5 hrs at my usual service center). Once they were done, they gave me a reasonable price and that was it. Came in as a walk-in for an alignment because I changed out one of my tires. I ended up needing my control arms replaced. The person who helped me out showed me what happens with my car because of the old control arms and explained why they needed to be replaced. He also showed me the part, once removed, and thoroughly explained what it was, the cause, and what was happening with the control arms. Not only that but he also cleaned my car (and I've been putting it off for months). The person at the counter was super friendly and very helpful. I took my Chevy Tahoe here today and they had great customer service. I needed my oil changed along with my brakes and tires looked at. It took the guys no time at all, I was in and out in about 20 minutes. Most auto places drag their feet but these guys get things done. He even let me know I had an oil leak and needed a new plug which he didn't over charge me for. I put a "project" on Yelp, because my car kept getting a check engine light on, get a couple different quotes from different mechanic. Auto Stop message to me: bring in your car, we'll see what we can do for you. I go there, which is not a super convenient location for me to drive thru. After waiting a couple minutes in the lobby with other people, the counter person comes in to ask if we've all been helped, i have the report in my hand about why my car is having problems passing smog, and counter guy rudely tells me: we don't do smog repairs, with an attitude that says: stop wasting my time. WTF? Don't go here unless you have time to waste and get dicked around by a RUDE counter person. F this place! read more

I took my car in because a couple of times my car wouldn't start. They did a diagnostic on it I also explained to them what would happen when it wouldn't start. They checked my battery and it was still good. We ended up replacing the starter. He gave me a quote and the cost of the diagnostic went towards the parts and labor for the job. Text me the next day to let me know it was ready and they were able to save me almost $100 since there was a part they didn't have to replace. I also noticed that they fixed my tire service sensor as well when I got in the car. I will definitely take my car here again. Great service and was done quickly. read more

I am updating the review with the invoice from Auto Stop shows the oil change was performed on 6/16/2020 with customer supplied parts. The oil filter was loose and was leaking before I posted my original review back in Dec, 2020. I brought in a blue Purolator ONE oil filter for the oil change and when it leaked I went under the car to tighten the filter and discovered the filter was white color. No damage to the car but I don't appreciate the switcheroo. read more

Early in the morning 11 March I called the shop and spoke to Kevin if I can bring my car to there shop to fix my transmission and He told me drop it off and will see from their. I told them what happened to my transmission so About ten to fifteen minutes later Steve came in and He print the estimate how much do I need to pay. Two to three days later Kevin called me that theirs a leak on the right axle that need to be replaced a seal. I told him go ahead and also they did alignment for the wheel. Very trustworthy mechanics (which is hard to find, as we all know)! I have had great experiences here with my Scion xD. They have done all sorts of work here for me- routine oil changes, routine 120k mile service, brake pad/rotor change. I have also brought my wife's car here for an unknown sound, and they checked the car out without even charging us when they couldn't duplicate the sound. On top of their honesty, they have also charged very fair prices for the good work they do. After reading some good reviews I decided to try Auto Stop out to fix my grandma's AC in her car. They did an awesome job and now her car's air conditioning works amazing. What's even more amazing is that my grandma accidentally left her wallet at the shop and the shop quickly called us to let us know and when we picked it up all of her cash and cards were in her wallet were safe in sound. The owner and one of the mechanics in this location have been so friendly, understanding, and dedicated to service and laying out all the problems and factors of my car which nearly broke down. My car was fixed up to work like brand new again after the engine failing from overheating. They work with a "customer first" attitude and extremely knowledgeable in figuring out any car problems. Auto Stop is a hidden gem in Sacramento! I was way overdue for an oil change and scheduling one at my local dealership was booked out for a week. Auto Stop came up on my search on Yelp and read good things in the comments, so I decided I'd give it a chance. I called ahead to make sure they were able to work on my car since it's a 2022 Subaru, and they said they did. I came at around 12pm and Kevin helped me out immediately. He took my car info and took my keys and went to my car. Not even 30 minutes, he comes back and tells me it's all done. 30 minutes!! I had cleared my afternoon thinking I'd be waiting for at least two hours! And when he rang me up, it came out to a little over $50. Not only did I save time, I saved at least $70, whereas I would've spent at least $120 at the dealership shop. Kevin was fast and friendly. The owner is a young man named Steve, welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and knows how to run a business! They also do tire rotations, breaks and a few other auto services.
