I walked in to ask for an estimate at 4:30 in the afternoon for an exhaust issue, and in short order they gave me a quote and said they could do it right then and there- and wow! Parts on hand, had it done in an hour! Very reasonably priced, my car is quiet as a mouse, as promised! I guess that's the benefit of going to a shop that does mufflers specifically, but they do a LOT of other things too. Friendly service, reasonable price, competent and prompt. Getting my Mufflers fixed at Muffler Man has always been a good experience. I've tried to go to other muffler places but to no avail. I will mention Tuffy muffler which was way over expensive to see the least. Anytime I have brought my cars and for muffler repair I have always gotten good service a good price and great timing! I had Muffler Man take my muffler off and do a straight pipe in place of the muffler. It sounds great. They did a super job! It has been a year now and I think I'm going to put it back like it was. I thought it would maybe help with fuel economy but didn't seem to. I will update my review after they do this. Update: Went in and had my muffler reinstalled. I drove about 80 miles round trip to get here. When I got there they were extremely busy. I noticed that everyone was dropping their vehicles off. I was unable to do that because of the distance I drove. They got me in pretty quickly. I walked to a restaurant while work was being done. They called about 4 time to make sure everything was right. They did a great job again! If I have any exhaust work done, it will be here. Give these folks a try. You won't be disappointed! read more

They are really good at ripping off women, they charged me 640.00 for a catalytic converter on my 2007 saturn outlook. When I called auto part stores I could buy one for 486.00. They made money off my new parts plus my old ones. Then told me I could have my old parts back after I paid the core. Lost my business and my respect. read more

I waited several hours to have my car looked at. I wanted it checked out as it was running a bit loudly near the front of the car. Muffler man told me I needed an entire new OEM exhaust put on my car for over $700. Incredulous I said I would think about it. Days later while visiting my sister in New York I went to her local muffler place and they said I had a worn gasket and fixed it for $53. That was three years ago and I'm still on the same muffler! would rate a 1 if I could. My car sat in their parking lot for 2 WEEKS after I had BROUGHT IT BACK since they didnt fix it the first time. I ended up having to go back AND PICK UP MY UNTOUCHED VEHICLE AFTER IT SITTING STILL FOR 2 WEEKS. When I brought it in I was told it would be probably the next day before they could even look at it, understandable.. okay. A WEEK goes by and no call, so I go up there and see my car in the same spot as the alternator needs to be replaced so it needs to be jumped to be worked on. The morning I picked it up they also got in a argument with my grandfather about how they're sooo understaffed when I had been visiting their changing lot everynight to see that was untrue. read more

i had a very bad time with these people, brought my truck in because they were suggested to me by a piss poor dealership i bought it from. they called me and explained to me what needed to be done, I did not tell them to star on it, but they did so and when i went to get some stuff out of it for work i found it in the shop already torn apart. I went to muffler man to get my brakes done and more repairs had to be done as well, which is fine, it needs to be done. Well, my car was sitting on Chicago drive for several days unlocked (the few things in my car/armrest were scattered around), the windows were slightly down (it was winter and snow was inside my car), and my lights were left on (battery was shot, and may I say, my car doesn't beep when you leave the lights on, it SCREAMS). So it was the most careless service I have ever had and I just felt violated. The car was only driven for 4 months after that - very little wear and tear. Guess who needs to get her brakes done AGAIN. Guess who is never going back to Muffler Man ever again! I don't want anyone else to waste their money just to feel violated like me! As a couple vacationing who had our car break down far from home, we cannot say enough good things about this place! They took our car in without an appointment on a Saturday shortly before closing time. We knew the problem was serious and anticipated having to rent a car and/or spending additional nights in town. Instead, they were able to diagnose the problem, which 2 different shops back home had failed to do, we're able to do a quick repair which was enough for us to drive it safely home, and didn't even charge us for their time! I took my car in to be serviced at Muffler Man on April 13, 2018 because the service sticker on my car indicated my next service date should have been February 13 or 122,000+ miles. My car was only at 119,000+ miles but already two months past the suggested service date so I thought I had better take it in. I normally have my dealership service my car and they had already sent me two service reminders. Muffler Man had recently installed a muffler and I was so pleased with the price and the service I decided to take it there instead. To my surprise, Virgil, the owner, said he could go ahead and do the service but I would be wasting my money since the car had at least 3,000 more miles to go before the next service in spite of the suggested date on the sticker. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. He was actually being honest with a 70 year old, single woman, telling me I would be wasting my money getting this unnecessary service. If I had taken it to my dealership, they would have already charged me $45 for the oil change and another $15+ for a new air filter, needed or not. I highly recommend Virgil and Kelly Martin's Muffler Man for their honesty, fair prices and excellent service! (And good coffee while you wait!) read more
