They have a depth of knowledge and expertise with German cars (and trucks) of all marquees, models, and vintages: Your parents' (or grand parents'!) old MB 108 -109, or a 1973 BMW 3.0 CSi, to the brand new 2022 S500 or a 1983 928, or mid-2000's 996 Carrera -- they handle it all and they handle perfectly. From G Wagons, to modern MB's, to a '73 w116, '84 w126, the w124, and the polarising w140 platform (last of the "real" pre-Chrysler era "No expense spared" platforms), there's no better shoppe around. Are they "cheap" like your friend's third cousin once removed, the "shade tree German car expert?" ahh ... No. However, they are quite reasonable and are unfailingly honest and ethical! Do you want the "cheapest" person you can find working on a car that you hold dear and plan to have outlive you? Absolutely not. But, you won't find this level of expertise, range, scope, customer service, and commitment to excellence anywhere else, including dealership service in the area or in driving distance that I've ever visited. Today, I dropped off my BMW for an oil change. I did not have an appointment but Josh worked me in. Josh asked if I'd like to wait (in their warm, comfortable waiting area) of if I needed a ride (I wasn't smart enough to ask, but assume they would have shuttled me home). The best service for Porsches in West Michigan. The brakes on my Cayman S were making an occasional screech and I brought it to GAS for what I expected to be pads and / or rotors. I was told both the brakes and rotors were in perfect shape and the mild driving has created a little bit of glazing. Went there with an older Audi A4. They gave me a very thorough evaluation of what this vehicle needed at this time. And what could wait. There shop very clean. hit it or quit it: hit it, proverbially of course. snapshot: a very clean and efficient operation that takes care of its customers; bring your veedub, beemer, audi, or benz here if you live in the GR area for quality service, customer care, and piece of mind. full review: i always have a sense of apprehension when life throws a situation my way that necessitates a visit to any mechanic. doesn't matter who. dealer, gas station, or third party...society and my dad have taught me to look at these guys sideways every time. that habit cracked with GAS, and i've only used them once. what does that tell you? normally i don't review an institution if i've only had one experience with them but this was such a positive sortie that i'm confident i've got it right. the beginning of my interaction was an e-mail correspondence with Ben (great guy), and then a phone call, after a recommendation from a collegue. they scheduled me one week out for some unorthodox work i had asked for. they laid expectations, which is what i do at work, and said 'lets take a look and see what we can do' not 'oh yeah we can do that for you'. i got the sense that they were approaching it professionally. i am picky and nuanced, yet Ben and his team were able to give me everything i asked for. they accomodated all of this while i was at work. the work was quick, clean and organized, and my final price made me very happy. the best part comes next. Audis are hsitorically known for electrical gremlins, and my work had required some manual manipulation of wiring (mostly pushing aside)...there was one hiccup. Ben got me in the next day, got it taken care of, drove me to and from my job, and it was all compensated because he said 'this was our mistake'. classy. now the car is right where i want it, some things i had asked for Ben said 'we don't do that here, we typically source it out to this company' and i really respect that. my whip, i call it the delinquent, will be primarily being taken care of by GAS if every interaction goes like this. also they have cool stickers. read more
