Cozy atmosphere and the coffee is good. I use to buy my coffee there every week by the lb but the price just kept getting higher and higher. I went there a couple weeks ago and got a slice of my favorite (red velvet cake) the cake was so dry I couldn't swallow without washing it down. Also the cream cheese frosting was overly sweet and you couldn't even taste the cream cheese, it left a nasty after taste in my mouth. After 1 bite I had the server take it away and I explained to him that it was too dry to eat. I was shocked he didn't offer an alternative desert or refund. I'll probably stop un time to time for bottomless coffee but ill pass on the baked goods in the future. read more

Aesthetic vibe was on par, customer service was ehh, pour over was garbage. Literally the worst pourover I have ever had. I could've gotten a better cup of DRIP coffee at Starbucks. I had the best salad at this place... It was called Strawberry Fields. The feta was moist instead of dry and the strawberries were so fresh you'd have no idea it was in the darkest days of December. The poppyseed salad dressing was the perfect pairing. I wish I had just had the salad though... the BLT I got with it was disappointing... but probably my bad for choosing a BLT. The bread was dry and bland (pair it with something more exciting!) and the tomatoes were tasteless. I suppose you can't expect much in the middle of winter but after that salad, my hopes had been raised high. read more

Great cup of coffee! Had a latte and a low-fat cranberry, walnut muffin. Both were delicious! Be warned though, you need to enjoy a cup of "real" coffee with full flavor to enjoy this. Will definitely come back next time I am in town! read more

Although the coffee tastes good. They have poor order management, often do they make the drinks by how quick it can be made, not by who was in line first. This method leads you to wonder for 15 minutes if you missed your name when you see someone who purchased after you leaving before you. Allow 20 minutes for your order to be filled especially if there is an event downtown. Also-order it extra hot, thier natural serving temp is luke warm. Perfection in a cup. First, I love the location downtown. Coffee is flavorful, never too sweet nor bitter. Staff is polite, chatty, yet quick and professional. I've been to mudhouse a couple of times. I do not get to go often as I live in Republic and do not like wasting my gas to go to the library center or downtown Springfield just to get some mudhouse treat's. Anytime I have been to the mudhouse at the Library center they remember your face and no matter where you sit in the store they find you and bring your order to you. On the other hand, if you're looking for a quiet place to study or work on a project, you will likely find the constant blender action taking place behind the counter distracting at best - and that's assuming you can find a seat, which is by no means a guarantee given the relatively tight space. Then there are the lines to contend with. While you can hardly fault a place for being popular, if you happen to patronize this particular establishment during peak hours, you're likely to spend a bit of time waiting around before you make your order or receive it. Then again, if you're a rewards program maven like myself, the prospect of receiving double the punches on your loyalty card each Sunday can cure a lot of ills, so perhaps it's worth the struggle after all. read more
