It's called the tackle box. Your choice of fish, fried oyster, and fried shrimp. Out of this world. Fried to a perfect golden brown. Even the fries are good. There's a light dusting of spice on top of this plate. Hush puppies you actually pay attention to. Crispy outside, flavorful soft inside. No where as greasy as the boiling pot. Huge servings. Very good and I will be back. The dining partner got crawfish but they weren't quite in season yet so I'll give em a pass on that front. Huge portions! Seriously. The boudain balls were a little too well done and all that fried food is a lot of salt, but it is good prices and decent turn around time on getting your order out. It was amazing how fluffy and light the flounder and oysters were. The worst experience I have ever had in my life. I bought food for my dad who is on hospice and bedridden. I call to say it's to salty and I'm told I have to bring it back this evening as I wanted to take it tomorrow so I did not have to leave my dad. I get there and they accuse me of eating over half. I tell them first of all I don't even eat it. It was for my dad and all I want were the shrimp replaced. They rudely refuse and the cashier even mocks me to another patron saying I just tried to bring back a half eaten plate. I call back to speak with an owner. I explain to another guy and he tells me they don't sell food for me to take away and let someone taste it. I share my dad is on hospice and bedridden and could not accompany me. He tells me he doesn't care and he would call the police if I call back. I tried again and another guy identifies himself as the "head honcho" yells at me and hangs up. I'm assuming this was the male owner who they told me wasn't there. I call to leave a message for a lady I've met before and the guy who told me he didn't care that my dad was on hospice tells me he isn't doing anything for me and hangs up on me again. To accuse me of eating food I didn't eat is one thing but to tell me you don't care that my dad is on hospice is inhumane. I've heard a lot of really bad stuff about this place and the staff who work there and I use to actually take up for them. In fact I told the gentleman on the phone this to which he says "that doesn't mean anything to me". Unbelievable and disgusting. Don't ever patronize these people who have absolutely no respect for you. read more

Have one complaint. No one told us how huge the portions are. Can easily be split for two adults and I eat to much. Had fried oysters and they were good. Wife's crawfish were also excellent. We were down in Mobile fishing, visiting colleges and relaxing.. we were also in search of a local seafood place and was told several times to go to Mudbugs.. they didn't disappoint.. prices were decent and the portions were nice .. we had steamed crabs shrimps corn potatoes and boiled eggs on the side. OMG My friend and I were in Mobile and she took me here. I had never had Royal Red Shrimp. They even steam them there to eat in or out if you wish. As I was eating these all I could say was WOW!! I ordered 120 lbs live crawfish for a birthday party we hosted. When I arrived my order was ready, they even loaded it into my vehicle for me.
