We visited this location knowing we needed a rawhide like chew-bone that would keep Henrietta occupied while we went out to dinner. The team at Mud Bay were very knowledgable and helpful and guided us to the right decision. Great store! read more

they kind of a skeletal version of the regular store. The selection is tremendously disappointing, and the staff was kind of rude about it. Kind of a bummer. I'll continue to go to other mudbay stores but this one isn't worth your time. read more

A really nice location to get whatever your feathered, scaled, or furry pet may need. Everything is really well organized and it's easy to find whatever you're looking for. The employees are really pleasant and enthusiastic about helping you find whatever it is you're looking for. read more

Mud Bay - Pet Stores Near Me - Portland, Oregon

Super nice and helpful staff. Everything you need is here. Nice setup and fully equipped with items.

Not consistent about offering samples like they used to. Some employees do not greet you or just sit behind the counter.

The staff here is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. We were in the market for CBD for our senior dogs, and the staff pointed us in the right direction and made sure we knew the recommended instructions for the product we purchased. A quick search showed their price was the same or less than on-line! They also said we could return the product if it didn't work (which we don't plan to do), and gave us some treat samples for our furry friends--so many advantages vs. shopping on-line, and feels great supporting local businesses! COVID procedures: masks required/provided, hand sanitizer at entrance, 6' floor markings, staff wearing masks read more

Nice, clean store that usually has what I need. It has great holiday toys and treats for my dog. The only thing I could do without is the country music that sometimes plays . Knowledgable staff, and I love that there's usually a little sample treat for trying out. read more

shoutout to jasmine! helped me get my dog "timberland" some treats & he loves them! i will be back 10/10 customer service!!!

We have a new puppy. This is our closest pet store, and the service is over the top helpful. They helped us find the right products, gave us samples, and made us feel welcome. They handled social distancing just fine, and we were in and out with new products and lots of good information. read more

There was only a couple people in the store but apparently this one woman and her playing everywhere very loud children were exceptionally important because no one else could get help as the staff all chatted with her about the cat climbing structure she was purchasing. I stood waiting with the other 3 people until she finished talking to her husband to apparently get his approval because we were all not getting helped until the staff was done listening so we all listened. Very glad when he finally came to the phone to ok the purchase so we could all get on with our day read more

Mud Bay - Treat bucket filled for the puppies! - Pet Stores Near Me - Portland, Oregon

Friendly and knowledgeable people. Large selection of products, including grain free & limited ingredient foods & treats for our allergic dog. They didn't carry the larger size of the Sojos grain free base mix, so they special ordered it for us & texted when it came in. The free treat samples are really helpful to test if my dog likes and can eat something before committing to a whole bag. And again they have lots of grain free options like dried sweet potato, salmon skin, lamb lung. They also have some feed & treats for chickens & other small animals. We love Mud Bay & this location is no exception! read more

I've been wanting to stop for some time now and finally did! Why did I wait so long?! What a great store and staff! Shout out to Lillie who took time to answer questions, give feedback and information on products! So very knowledgeable and caring! And loved the samples...ok, the pets loved the samples! I don't live nearby, but come through here on occasion and will definitely stop in when I do! Takeaway: *great product selection (love that they carry a lot of natural products) *good prices *awesome staff read more

We have been getting our dog food from here since we moved to Oregon almost 2 yrs ago. The staff is very friendly and informative. Today is the first time we decided to get her food delivered to us instead of going in. We appreciate the service you all have and how you treat your customers read more

This is not my neighborhood store, but I'm glad I checked this one out anyway! The staff, as usual, were nice even though I was there to see Felines First Rescue (adoption event). I did some window shopping, and loved what they had available. I think they might even have a better selection than my local Mud Bay! They had some items I had never seen/heard of before, but definitely interested in buying (ModMong Engaser laser, and an upgraded stainless steel version of my cat water fountain). Also I loved how they demo the cat litter brands they carry!! Soooo informative. They have pans out filled with the different cat litters (pine, clay, etc.) and they let you demo it by providing fake cat urine to see how the litter actually holds up. Anyone with a cat knows how valuable this info is (: read more

5 stars for all good reasons! Kind to pets. Great service. Knowledgeable staff. Generous. Store hours. Easy access and parking. We were Western Pets customers but since we have new puppy we need samples and they don't really offer that. Super hard to ask unlike Mud Bay. Staff just gave many packs and cans for free when I walked in intended to buy. They know we will come back and we did, so many times. read more

I love this store! The staff members are always knowledgeable and friendly. The products are great quality. For top brands, the prices are comparable to a big box store, but the service is unbeatable! Thanks mud bay for all the wonderful products you've introduced to make my pets healthier and happier! read more

I stopped by for a harness and some treats for my pups. An employee immediately greeted me and asked if I knew what I was looking for - everyone there was so friendly. I got some sample treats at checkout, which my dogs loved. They also love the healthy biscuits I bought them. Prices are higher than the local Petco/Petsmart, but IMO the product quality makes it worth it. read more

Such a great store! They have a great selection of healthy/natural brands, with a huge range for small-large dogs. The staff is extremely knowledgable & was able to answer all of my questions-they were even able to refer some products to me. Wishing you had a store in California. This is a very dangerous shop! We came in for dog food and left with food, toys and treats! I really like that they give samples of treats to try before you buy. Thank you for the great service! read more

This place is the best. High end pet store with competitive pricing. They take a lot of time and care making sure their products are healthy and good for pets. We buy all our cats food here and have since realized that it is the cheapest place for the brand we buy. The staff is always super nice and helpful. The place is clean and well organized and feels upscale. I have bought harnesses, leashes and toys here. We even bought a cat tree here. For how nice the store is, the prices are very competitive. read more

Wonderful selection raw dog food - especially if you're looking for Stella & Chewy products. The staff is welcoming and helpful, always asking if we would like sample treats. They recently hooked us on freeze dried minnows - and our pup loves them!! Skip the big box pet supply stores and opt for Mud Bay. read more

Paws down, the best pet store I've been to in Portland. The staff is extremely helpful, knowledgable and friendly. The prices are lower than the traditional pet stores and they have an expansive selection of natural foods & supplies. Plus the samples they give with every purchase are a nice bonus and an easy way to see if my picky kitties will like it without wasting full sizes. Thanks Mud Bay! read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Just a hop, skip, and jump away, I'm here almost every week and my pup loves coming here too!

Went here a couple weeks ago after a friend recommended I check it out. My (at the time) 7 month old puppy needed a new harness and the employee working there suggested the wonder walker and let me tell you... It is life changing! He sat down on the floor with my dog and adjusted the harness to fit him comfortably and let me walk him around the store to try it out. Afterwards he gave me free dog treat samples and a coupon for my next visit. I will definitely be back here and would recommend it to anyone. read more

We're compelled to write this review because of the exceptional customer service we received on a recent visit. Our senior cat has been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and was placed on a vetinary's prescription diet. After only a handful of days, our cat was no longer eating the presribed canned food. We panicked because she wasn't at all interested in eating any more. We researched other options on-line for diets for CKD cats & learned that we needed to find low-phosphorous & highly moist food. Several higher-end brands inccluded a variety of options that we could try on our cat. We then researched where we could find the food nearby since we didn't want to wait to order on-line since our cat needed to start eating again immediately. . Fortunately, this Mud Bay location recently opened in our neighborhood and we knew that they carried several of the labels that we saw in our research. We went into the store and explained our dilemma to Katie, one of the employees working at the time. Before we could finish, Katie walked us over to several of the brands that we had seen on-line, and others that she recommended that we hadn't seen. Katie then took the time to explain other options as well, including some raw food alternatives. Katie mentioned the store's policy of allowing customers to take 3 cans of food as a trial with their pets (at no charge). So, we selected a variety of brands and took them home. Our cat has taken to several of the brands/flavors of food that Katie recommended and is eating more now than ever before. She has gained weight and is no longer lethargic. She appears healthier and is super active again. We are so happy!! We owe this amazing turn-around for our cat to Katie and Mud Bay. Katie was so enthusiastic, informed, concerned, caring and focused on helping us find a solution. To say that she provided us with excellent customer service would be an understatement. If she is a representative of this exceptional store, everyone should visit Mud Bay for their own pets!!! read more
