In the very way back, we're talking 20 years ago, I used to always , come here for my pet food. I learned a lot about pet food after an unfortunate happening with one of my cats. He developed the crystals in the urine due to the charcoal and fillers in the cat food I had been using which I thought was premium food!! A friend who was a vet recommended Nutro so I switched food and it worked.But after a few years, it became more difficult to get the food. First they were always out, ordering online didn't help since we weren't the only ones trying to get the food. We just could not afford the extra expenses ordering it elsewhere online (Chewy was not yet a reliable option) but I did find a food with almost the same ingredients and quality, yet available everywhere and at a fraction of the price!! Fast forward to yesterday. Being honest, I always order the food through Amazon with my groceries, because it is very inexpensive that way + delivered to my door! I just ordered two weeks ago and that bag is pretty low so I went to order. Imagine my shock, I've been ordering the same food for years! Most places were charging almost double for the same amount. The one closest to the bag I ordered two weeks ago was going to take nearly two weeks to ship. I was so frustrated and decided to just Google search the food and see if some crazy thing happened. Suddenly, I see that Pet Smart has it with the normal price I used to pay everywhere and actually has a $1.50 off that because it's on sale!! I needed to pop out for another errand and see that they offer curbside. Wow! So easy and friendly. I'm not a fan of apps for everything so I just signed out as a guest. When I got there, I parked in the designated area, call the number on the sign, gave them my name and I swear, I immediately got out to open my trunk for her and she was almost to my car the second we hung up the phone!! read more

I am disgusted by what happened today. Nonetheless I never had a positive experience at this store. The workers are all in horrible moods and put you right on in there. Anyways, an older gentleman was just standing BY the check out not in line. I asked if he was in line and he immediately gave me severe sass and attitude. I was just trying to buy my things and leave as Im disabled. He started shouting at me and my friend, swearing and cussing while I entered a separate line to get space. He called us both a BITCH and the workers at my register and his both told ME and my friend to calm down. To have fellow women yelling at me when dime man was calling me a bitch and I did not once cuss or call him names. He was screaming and causing such a nasty situation and the pissy cashiers, older lady and some basic white girl (working 1/7/26 around 6pm) ended up being homiphobic and transphobic and ablist towards me and my friend. PetSmart employees went above and beyond- thank you! My family and I took our puppies to this location for photos with Santa and they were SO patient and kind. Unfortunately they sent me the wrong photo so I called them the same day and the employee told me the person in charge would be there the next morning. They sent me the correct photo in the afternoon! I did not expect it to be so swift and quick (it's very hard to receive great customer service these days) so I was incredibly impressed with their service. Conveniently located at the intersection of SW Cedar Hills & Walker, this PetSmart is always busy. In addition to all the norms, they always have adorable seasonal toys for your pet. During December, I always pick up the holiday stockings for cats; they do a Hanukkah theme and the gray, blue and white colors go with my decor so I always stick up! Yes, I am that crazy that my cat's toys have to match my color scheme! If my 2 kitties didn't hate the pets carrier so much, I'd bring them here for holiday pictures with Santa! Another great perk for two weeks - check the store for schedules. Yesterday I was in the hunt for a specific sized kitty litter box to fit in a new enclosure I bought. Rather than try to find a spot for the box, I decided to hide it in plain sight with a bench that conceals the litter with an opening in the sides for the cats to enter. The allotted space is much smaller than the current box and PetSmart had a box with high sides that perfectly matched the needed proportions. For just $12.99 it was a deal! Love that they carry an assortment of cat furniture - beds, towers, climbing posts - that are neutral so blend in rather than shout "CAT FURNITURE!" Even some mid century mod designs. I'm so tempted to purchase one but have no way of knowing if my cats will love it as much as me! Cashiers and staff are friendly. Yesterday I actually needed help trying to snap together the two components of the new litter box and help was immediately offered. While there I processed a return with no issue and then made the new purchase. Plenty of parking as they have their own lot. Just be aware of customers barreling through both entrances, chatting on their phones while they park - it's actually a bit dangerous so pay attention! read more

We like this store, it's usually kept very clean and employees are friendly. The reason why I'm giving the low rating is specifically for the DOG GROOMING department. We have been loyal customers for the last 7 years. My parents take both their dogs here and both my siblings bring their dogs here. When we drop off our dog to get groomed, we usually buy dog food, treats and toys gladly spending thousands of dollars at this store location every year. 2 years ago we moved out of town but because of our Loyalty to this store, every 6 weeks we still make the trip back into Beaverton (1 hour drive) to get our dog groomed at Petsmart. Over the last few months we have seen the steady decline in customer service from specifically the grooming department. We have had several last minute cancellations and rescheduling, while there is rarely a familiar face as the groomers get changed often. Our last visit will be "our last visit" as the dog grooming manager Joshua made it very clear that we are not important customers. We had already had our original appointment canceled moved to another date and then moved to another time slot. As we were driving in to town, we got stuck in some Beaverton traffic literally around the corner and we even called the store to let them know that we are in town but we are just a little behind. We arrived 19 minutes late to the appointment and they refused to take our dog because they said they have a "15 minute grace period" and we missed it. We spoke to Joshua (manager) and we explained our situation, why we barely missed the 15 minute grace period. Even though they had canceled our original appointment and than last minute change of our daily appointment , we explained that we are working with you guys, will you please work with us too? Joshua said NO! He didn't even say he'll keep us on the list incase there is a cancellation, he wasn't sympathetic to us or make any effort to make us feel wanted, Okay fine Joshua great job! we will turn around and drive another hour back home (2 hours of driving) and your store will NEVER see another dollar from me or my family members again, as we will ALL be finding new dog groomers. read more

To the manager who closed the door in my face: The store hours say you close at 9 pm. Rushing to the door to close it AS I'M WALKING UP at 8:57 pm constitutes closing early so please just say "we're closing early" rather than saying "we're closed" as you manually shut the doors giving a half-assed smile and saying a disingenuous "sorry". If you were sorry you could have let me in as I was almost in the door when you shoo'ed me away and let me buy the cat food I always buy at your location. I would have been in your store less than sixty seconds DURING YOUR OPENING HOURS. Instead you chose to be a jerk and literally close the doors in my face 3 minutes early. We all have places we need to be and no one wants to be at work longer than necessary, but that was so disgusting. I'm there damn near every night. Never happens to me at the PetSmart on Walker in Tanasbourne and from now on that is the location that will get my business because they are professional, courteous, but above all KIND. Next time you're in a hurry to get home to the family remember I also have a family I want to get home to too and a life I live as well and part of living that is getting cat food from your store. I didn't enter at 9 pm and shop, I didn't bang on the door at 9:01. . . . I was there at 8:57 pm. I'm sick of marketing schemes. "Buy 12 cans get 2 free." So I bought 24 cans and only got 2 cans for free because I only bought 22 cans says the clerk and the manager. Then I called PetSmart customer service and was told to go back in and buy more cans to get my extra 2 cans for free. I accused the person on the phone for not being helpful. She argued with me saying she was being helpful by providing me with another trip back into that store or a different store location. Without cursing, I told her she indeed did not help me and that their marketing team knows darn well what buy 12 get 2 for free means when a consumer buys 24 that the consumer expects 4 free and then she hung up on me. As far as the 3 stars, it would have absolutely been 4 except for the super rude cashier on the last visit. I have NEVER had such a rude cashier but the store was super busy when I was checking out and picking up my dog from grooming. Let me back up and say that I drive to this location for grooming as the location at Cascade says they "can't handle" my dog however, the grooming staff here has always said he is a good boy. VERY strange and definitely set off some red flags for me so he only comes here for grooming. At first he ONLY saw one groomer, and I panicked when he was to be seen by someone else, but now he sees whoever we can get in with and the grooming staff is ALWAYS amazing. He is a chipineseoodle terrier *Chihuahua, min pin, pekingese, small poodle, Jack Russell terrier MUTT mix* And he HATES and I mean HATES water. He hates baths at home, tries to jump out of the tub, shakes, freaks out, etc. AND he is small (20 lbs) so he has to have his anal glands drained (GROSS...but THANK YOU GROOMERS for doing this,) but his ultimate worst is nail grinding. We tried it once, and it was like trying to wrestle an oiled up child. NOPE. I am always shocked when I get him back clean and happy and they say he has been good. Back to the evil cashier...even though he's a wee pup, he has a wicked CHEW. And if he doesn't have Dentley's medium size bones to chew it exasperates his anxiety and he is a pain. This is pretty easily solved with the right bone. So they had a sale on them, which was buy 2 get one half off or something, but I messed up what I had thought the sale was and when I asked why it rang up that way the cashier said "it's right you must have read it wrong." And I said "can I just check it because I think it's wrong." She looked at the line (there were 3 or 4 people behind me, all also with dogs,) and sighed loudly and said "you can pay now and go check it." I then got SO mad that I said fine. I paid, went and checked, saw that I was wrong and then left. I have to say I am SHOCKED that the employee was so rude because she WAS right, and I WAS WRONG. But I worked in retail, as a server, in customer service and client facing roles my entire working life and have NEVER spoken to a customer with such disdain. I spent nearly $100 (grooming was half and bones the other...they're $20 something a bag and I got 3.) and she treated me like absolute garbage. I was absolutely wrong to NOT insist she check, as she was the employee and I was the customer, and I was wrong not to contact the manager immediately. But I was so furious when I left I couldn't deal with it. If this happens again I will reduce my review again and definitely contact a manager. read more

This review is not regarding the whole grooming area. I actually had my dog groomed there, and had a really good experience. The one star is given because there was a dog being groomed at the time I took my dog in for his appointment the dog was a standard size golden doodle he was being groomed by a groomer by the name of Hugh. My husband and I stood and watched in horror as Hugh took a comb and just ripped large clumps of hair and mats from that dogs ears completely ignoring the dogs, cries and sweet, gentle mouthing on his arm to stop what was hurting. It was absolutely painful to watch. I wish I knew who's dog that was. I would love to tell them how their dog was treated and to never allow Hugh to touch that dog again. I did call and report it to the manage, we will see where that goes read more

Everything was fine with pick up but when I get home I run my hands through his hair and I get a massive clump in my hands. So I keep going. I go here pretty much weekly. I foster cats so I can have 6-14 at a time. I will spend $50-$120+ per trip. Usually closer to $100. They are always well stocked. They always have employees walking around asking you if need anything. The points add up quickly to get $$ off your bill or coupons for grooming. My dog has gone to petsmart groomers for about a full year now, this location at least 2 times, usually with no issue. This time we had a groomer we have never had, just an overall poor experience. I went today with my best friend and boyfriend looking to adopt a cat and check out some of the animals and was very happy to see the kitties. The employee that helped us was very kind and talked to us about the specific cats and where they came from originally and walked us through the adoption process. The only thing I had a problem with was, after the girl who helped us walked away, no one was able to tell us exactly where to make an appointment to adopt. Luckily, the shelter called us and set it up but it seemed like some employees were not answering or able to answer. We were confused as to what we needed to do and it wasn't until my boyfriend stepped in and asked that we finally got a direct answer instead of being redirected. I shop at PetSmart almost weekly and when I visited the Beaverton location to exchange a heater for my fish tank, the cashier questioned me extensively and was obviously judging me with whatever narration she had in her head about how often I shop at PetSmart and even asked me where I live because I go to different locations. Came here looking for a specific betta tank (Topfin Soothe 3.5 gal) and to scope out plants and decor for the tank. Spot for the Soothe was empty and a very friendly and helpful staff member went to the back to check on their stock. He came back with a pile of tanks from a recent shipment (they had what I needed!) and refilled everything for me. Nice selection of different tanks (sizes and prices) available and a large wall of decor and plants (mostly plastic, some silk). Bought 3 living plants as well, all were healthy and in good shape when I got them home. Where they really stand out is in the condition of their bettas. I've been to several shops looking for a betta only to find the fish looking droopy and half dead with ratty fins (looking at you PetCo). Not here though! Every betta I picked up was alert, curious, active and in beautiful shape. Impressed! read more

I have a Labradoodle, and I wish I would have checked the Yelp reviews before taking him to PetSmart. I have gone to three different one with terribly inconsistent services. The worst being at Washington Square! Beware, if you dog isn't COMPLETELY tangle free, their remedy is to shave them down to the skin. I know what you're thinking, maybe the dog was too matted to do anything different. Well, No! When I arrived, they did a full body check for mats from head to toe, and told me it would be easier for the dog and groomer if I added a high end conditioner to his groom, which I did. Three hours later (3) I got a call saying they found a few body mats and thought my dog would be more comfortable if they took him down to a size "4 blade". I wasn't sure what that was so I looked it up and while it was shorter than I wanted, I agreed for my dogs sake. When I picked him up four hours, and forty five minutes later they were still working on him. The manager who was very nice, met me and said they really thought taking him down to a size 10 blade was the best choice. When I finally got my dog back 5 hours later, he was SHAVED DOWN TO HIS SKIN!!! After quite an argument, they finally admitted that his groomer probably needed a "little more experience". DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO PET SMART EXPECTING A PROFESSIONAL GROOMING EXPERIENCE! Their groomers need more than experience! They need to go back to school and try passing again! Terrible experience, I will never return. read more

Took my golden retriever here for a bath and nail trim. I mostly brought him here for the nail trim because that is the one thing he won't let me do independently. I dropped him off for 3 hours (which makes me uncomfortable to begin with). They call that he is ready and when I arrive they inform me that they didn't trim his nails because he was too squirrely. Monday afternoon and on a mission to find items for my dad's pond. I doubted Pet Smart would have it so checked just in case and it was so easy to find. The store is sectioned by animal, then various categories of food, toys, cleaning supplies and so much more. Nice and air conditioned with employees at the check out and off to the side as there were bunnies out (not sure if they were for an event or to be adopted). Lots of info on the next animal adoption weekend too. Finding what I needed was easy and so was paying for my item. The cashier was bubbly, and interacted with all the customers in line except for the fact that the card machine was being trouble some due to the store asking questions like a survey which made the card machine seem to freeze up. So I rebooked online and it says there was availability TODAY. I thought maybe someone cancelled their appointment because it happened last time. So I booked it. Now less than an hour before his appointment we get another call and his groomer says that he doesn't know why it was available to begin with and he can't groom my dog today. My fur baby had such a messy hair do. It was time. Chloe needed to have her spa day at a local chapter -Petsmart Grooming at Walker Road locale. All of the ladies have great mannerisms with the dogs, seem very loving, quite knowledgeable and patience beyond, keep up your professional service. PS Chloe loves her new Do! I have enjoyed visiting and shopping at this Petsmart for many years for a number of reasons. First, of course, you can bring your pet to the store with you. It's so much fun to walk up and down the aisles and run into pets and their people. It's especially fun because everybody is laid back and willing to stop and talk while you visit with their pet. I'd love to bring Sophie, my cat, but she's very shy and only hangs out with me and hides when visitors come to the house. Second, if you need some entertainment, just go to the back of the store and watch the furry clients in the doggy daycare center. Gotta love those dogs. I also enjoy stopping off at the cat adoption center and petting and giving some love to the kitties there. Third, check out the small animals, birds, and fish up closer to the front of the store. It's always great to see all degrees of cuteness or watch a youngster get their new friend ... heartwarming. I'm not a huge reptilian fan, but they always appear healthy and well tended as do the fish. Fourth, great prices on cat food. I have to have a certain brand for my grey girl, Sophie the Cat, and they always have it in stock and again at a decent price point. Fifth, the store always seems very clean. Sixth, the employees are invariably friendly and accommodating with their time and information. While this is a large chain store, the employees always give me the impression of the same kind of service you might get in a smaller neighborhood pet shop. I think this number of good reasons recommends this store as an excellent place to shop for your furry (or scaled) darling. Groomer review: My husband and I relocated to Beaverton recently. We've taken our dogs to the PetSmart off of 25th in Hillsboro for 7 years and have always been happy with our groomers there. We decided to give this location a go. I'm not generally in tune with "vibes, man," but from the moment I walked in I had a bad feeling. The gal that was checking the pups in seemed brand new and everything that I wanted took a lot of explaining. I am not a terribly picky owner, and there are enough notes in our file that make it pretty clear what services our dogs receive, and they rarely change. Some hours after dropping the girls off I received a call from the groomer asking if she could cut down my King Charles spaniel's ears because there were a couple of knots. I consented, thinking they were going to cut out the knots manually because her ears were in no way matted heavily. When I picked up the dogs, much to my surprise, my spaniel came out with her ears completely shaved down. If you've seen this breed, their long ear hair is an identifying characteristic. While I really don't care about her being "breed standard," I do care if my dog looks really stupid. And she did. My other dog literally had shit on her ass still. Oh, and they straight up lost my spaniel's collar. Insult to injury: they wanted to charge me MORE than I normally pay. I insisted on speaking to a manager. The poor young dear did not seem terribly interested in the litany of issues I listed, or that I was so angry I was shaking. She mostly wanted to make me go away and never once apologized. The best she offered was half off, and was so kind as to throw in a new collar and tag. Because I couldn't put my dog's leash on. Because they lost her collar. Which still blows my mind. PetSmart might have lost me after a botched grooming job, but they definitely lost me after the way that it was handled. I'd give them zero stars if I could. read more

The five star review reflects the dog training. I highly recommend any classes with Brian. He is a wonderful trainer and we got more out of the class than we thought. It is so nice to see someone who is truly passionate about their job and wants to make a difference. I had the opposite experience with the grooming center. I'd give that 2 stars. I made an appt well in advance for a 30 min puppy bath. On the day of they were very busy and said it would be 2 hours yet they started on a walk in dogs nails right away. They kept my dog in a cage while they caught up on other dogs and continuously tried to upgrade me to nail filing even when I declined. read more

We visit this Petsmart location frequently and use their grooming and doggy daycare facilities. Doggy daycare: Some of the staff that look after the dogs are really friendly and usually give us feedback on the kind of day that our dog had. How they keep track of 20+ dogs at a time I don't know, but it always helps to know that our pet was being running around and enjoying himself, or being a snob. Not all their staff are as involved though, so the kind of experience you and your pet will have may vary. Our experience with their grooming services have been similar - the attention that your pet gets, and quality will depend on who the groomer is and how busy they are - and they do get busy. We usually call a day in advance to schedule something. As expected, weekends are always busy. Pet food: We decided not to buy food at this store after seeing maggots in a bag of dog food on the store shelf. This is the second time we're seeing something in a store that has made us very concerned (read my review of the Whole Foods store in Hillsboro). read more
