Was looking forward to trying their Massaman Curry and asked if it was made fresh daily and was told 'yes'. I then specifically asked if I could NOT have peanuts in my order and was told 'yes'. My entree arrived and it was like watery soup that smelled like peanut butter. The menu said it was made with choice of beef, chicken, shrimp or a combination of those meats, coconut milk, and potatoes. I asked the server if it was made with peanut butter and then was told 'yes, we have to do it that way as some people don't like it spicy and it needs flavor'. I don't have a peanut allergy, but generally don't like peanuts so the server should have mentioned it was made with peanut butter when I asked if it had peanuts in it! UGH! I told her I did not want it and proceeded to try and order another entree. The server recommended the Pad Thai since I said I liked curry so I said I would try it. Having never had it before, I wasn't sure what to expect. The entree was linguine type noodles in a yellow sauce that tasted nothing like curry and more like listerine. My husband who will eat anything took one bite and that was more than enough for him. Truly a VERY disappointing meal. To top it off they had charged me for the Massaman curry of which I never even tasted and sent back immediately (though they never removed it from the table). I had to talk to the owner who agreed to take it off the bill. I guess I will stick with Marion's Kitchen Massaman Curry box meal as the flavor is DIVINE even without the peanuts when I have a curry craving. read more

Definitely my favorite place to get Thai in Eau Claire! Delicious food that is always ready in a reasonable time, if not quicker than most, and the portions are huge! I recommend the potstickers, pad see ew and curry fried rice. read more

My family loves this place! My son says that this is the best sushi he has ever had. My wife and I absolutely go nuts for the Pad Thai and the Pho soup is the best I have ever had. This is a pretty good restaurant with good food. They even have a sushi buffet but my only issue is that they don't have the best service. Located in a desolate little strip mall off clairmont ave, I stumbled into this place on Chinese New Years when I was lead astray by a few yelp reviews on a Chinese restaurant next door. I was expecting a normal sit down restaurant and what i found was what appeared to be a chinese bodega that was completely empty. So I walked into Maung Thai which was next door and almost full of asian teenages, peculiar for a place where probably Asians make up less than 1% of the population. I can see why it was full, the food was very decent. It's a thai place, but they serve an assortment of other asian cuisine to include pho which I hear is decent. The angel wings were way above average, but the pad see ew was a little dry and undercooked. I'll have to try the pho next time. If you find yourself nearby this part of EC, definitely worth a visit, especially given that I doubt you'll find another decent Asian restaurant within a 20mi drive. read more

Best egg rolls in town and the peanut sauce is surprisingly amazing. The meals are good as well, with lots of sushi options too, but the egg rolls is where it's at. Thin rice paper wrapper with clear bean thread or rice noodles with minimal veggies and meat in a thinner overall size. I'll buy multiple orders and freeze them even. The customer service was good but when they messed up my order the chef decided to talk to me about my soup and make a new one. Since, I'm pregnant I wanted the soup with chicken without garlic. The first order I got pork, sadly I don't like to eat pork. When I got my 2nd soup there was garlic and when I ordered my chicken soup I made sure that the waiter know not to put any garlic in there. Having one person take care of everything is harder on them when taking orders. The chef decided to ask how I was doing with my food I say there was garlic in my chicken soup. He said he'll fix it for me. I think he did a great job and handled the problem. read more

When the restaurant first opened, it was good. Good portions. It was better than other Asian restaurants in the area. After a couple months, customer service lacks, portion are unpredictable. Don't even bother going in when their friends and family come in, you basically don't exist. Your a paying customer while the friends and family basically eat for free. Why does it feel like I'm intruding on a family meal when it's a restaurant? Already stopped going here and know a lot of people that stopped going to this restaurant. Guys don't waste your time. I've been here multiple times, and usually the food is pretty good. Unfortunately after my last experience I will no longer be going to this restaurant. I purchased a restaurants.com certificate for $10 off of a $20 purchase in December 2014. When I went in to use the certificate a few weeks later the manager (maybe the owner) told me that the certificate expired the first of the year and I can't use it. I called restaurant.com after I left and they informed me that the certificate doesn't expire and Muang Thai isn't abiding by their agreement with them. It's one thing to not accept a coupon, but it's another to not accept a certificate that the customer actually PAID for that isn't expired. I'm assuming that Muang Thai offers those certificates to try and get people in, but then doesn't honor the certificate after the customer is stuck because they have ordered and ate already. That's unethical to say the least, and I'm not going to support a business that operates like that. read more

Third time going here. All experiences have been below average. Service is poor. Price/portion---expensive for little. Either the waiters are tired and there's a lack of hospitality or they don't notice customers when they walk in. Food quality is very mediocre. Their combination fried rice was disappointing. They added bacon to it (very non-thai) and the rice was old because it was mushy and had clumps that were untouched by the sauce. It tasted like something you could easily make with left over ingredients. I also ordered the tom yum soup. They presented it in a large, and redundant metal bowl that allows it to run a heat system under it but it simply sat on the plate. So it was just straight out annoying. Our papaya salad was presented in a cute little boat bowl but it was broken on the side and it came with a side of pork rind chips? Pork rinds aren't a popular side with papaya in the midwest. But the broken part of the bowl is questionable in terms of safety and sanitation. The mochi ice cream was a disappointment. We asked for strawberry, but that was out so we asked for green tea but that was also out. So we opted for the last option, mango. The mochi ice cream wasn't good. It was obviously store bought and was cut into quarters with whipped cream on top. It was just two pieces that weren't worth $5. Don't get the mochi ice cream, it's not worth it. Also, the mochi part was all crumbly and not chewy. I'm pretty sure this product passed it's expiration date. I could talk about my two other experiences but it would be excessive. I'm giving two stars because their only edge is the sushi. They should just become a sushi bar. Seriously. read more

Somedays they're really good and somedays they aren't so good. I am so angry and disappointed. I feel like whenever I go there their customer service is the worst ever! They never look happy to see the customer at all. The other day I ordered a roll of sushi and 2 spring rolls, the guy said that it would take about 25 minutes. I got there and my food was still NOT ready. I thought it was, so I paid first. Then the lady said (in an emotionless tone of voice), "You can sit and wait." It wasn't even a, "Oh, you're food isn't still ready, it'll take about 15 minutes. If you'd like you can sit and wait." It was a thoughtless, "You can sit and wait." I was so annoyed because about ANOTHER 20 minutes later, the guy came out with my food. He didn't apologize or didn't even give me a free egg roll or crab rangoon, not even a "Sorry about the wait, have a nice day!" It was an emotionless 'handing me my food' type thing. I am so so so so angry and disappointed that I'd like you all to know that their customer service is the worst. And if I were to ever order there again, I'd expect a 30 minute wait upon a 25 minute wait! read more

AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!!! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I certainly did not have the experience of a "customer". My kids and I walked in and waited briefly at the door expecting someone to direct us to a table. There were no responses other than blank stares from the cooking area. With my kids being impatience, we proceeded to a table. A server walked by our table minutes later without saying a single word and took the payment of a customer seating in the table next to us and then walked away. We then waited, waited, waited, waited, waited, and waited for another SIX minutes but one servers seem to notice our present. After about 7 long minutes, a group of customers walked in and were greeted then lead to a table, that lone and incompetent server went handed those customers menus. I then said to myself, my hard earned $$$$$$$$$$$$ is worth spending else where. My kids and I got up and WALKED OUT!!! I've never walk out of a restaurant before until stepping into this HORROR HOUSE. read more
