I was finding a nail place last minute to have my nails done for a wedding. I stumbled across Mu nails on Yelp and went ahead to see if they had any availability the same day after work. They were able to fit me in. After booking your appointment, a very detailed text message arrives with all your appointment details and how to find the nail salon. The place is cute, very cozy and has a Japanese feel to it. Michelle is really nice and educated me on nail health. The gel polish they use doesn't damage your nails and the colour selection is great! She also does nail art for an additional cost per nail. I had the UV GEL nails done with nail art. She was very meticulous and detailed oriented. My nails were looking great after my appointment ! They also last a long time. Ever since my first time i have booked two more appointments with michelle and have not been disappointed! My favourite nail salon in Markham.

Loving this new nail salon @Langham Square! Went for my 2nd visit today, and I'm very pleased with the excellent service :) I love that they provide the full mani, not just the gel design, and even offer complimentary tea! Michelle (the owner) is very detailed in her work, making sure that each nail is to the client's liking, and she uses top quality products from Japan. Thanks for pampering me & beautifying my nails - I'll see you again in a couple weeks!

Quality work = 4 weeks and no chips!

I got my nails done with Michelle over 1 month ago, and I got so many compliments. Michelle took so much time, care and detail into making it such a pretty set! Not only was the shop and tools clean, Michelle made sure my nails were done delicately - I barely needed to wash my hands from the lack of powder (stark difference when you go to pacific mall and its quick, dirty and nail powder everywhere)! I finally took them off today because it got too long for me (4 weeks later), and there was not a chip in sight. Again, Michelle takes her time to make you feel comfortable and not rush you out (even though I didn't get a refill!). She gave me a full manicure, and included a nail strengthen top coat afterwards. Bonus is the beautiful space, ambience and my personal favourite - a delicious made to order tea of your choosing while you get your nails done! Thanks Michelle and see you again soon! ;)

I've been nail-shop hopping for awhile now, looking for my new go-to place and im certain this time i have finally found the one ive been looking for! After reading many amazing reviews about MU Nails and obsessiI decided to book an appointment. When I arrived, my nail artist Michelle greeted me instantly and she offered me a complimentary tea from a selection of homemade teas. I chose the MU signature rose tea and it was super calming. Michelle showed me the gel colour selections and she kindly explained to me about the different colours and nail designs. Before starting, she made sure to ask me if I had any allergies to any chemicals and i dont recall other places asking this before doing my nails at other places. She also made sure to explain their pricing beforehand to ensure total transparency. Michelle was super detailed when cleaning my cuticles and prepping them for the gel, she explained to me about how they emphasize a huge portion of the appointment to making sure the cuticles and nails are cleaned and protected from the gel. I'm so happy I found a place that puts your nail health as their priority! Throughout the process, Michelle made sure that each nail length and shape was exactly the same and that I was completely satisfied and comfortable before moving on to the next nail/step. I was so impressed by the cuticle care already I knew the gel part would definitely blow me away. My nails were painted to perfection! Michelle really made sure that each and every single nail was perfect, my nails are so smooth and shiny with no uneven clumping at all. My absolute favourite was the nail designs, I chose a simple marble design with gold foil and I was just so amazed watching Michelle paint them. Michelle would keep asking me to check the nails to make sure theres enough gold foil to my liking and that the jewels were placed in the center from my perspective. To finish off, there was also a hand exfoliation and massage included in the manicure! This is the first time I have ever had my hands exfoliated and my hands felt so much smoother than they have ever before. This place is definitely a hidden gem and I already know I want to come back for my next set monthly set of nails. I mean, I already have in mind which design and colour I want to do from here! Can't wait to come back for my next manicure. Thanks Michelle, I love my new nails!

Unbelievable experience here! I was looking for a Japanese style gel nail design place and found this through Yelp. Decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did. Michelle impressed me with her expertise in nail and cuticle care as well as nail design artistry. I came in with a design I had in mind and Michelle impressed me by far surpassing my expectations. It is my favourite set ever, and the most complimented! Service is impeccable and artistry top notch. I will definitely be a regular here.

This is not an average Asian nail salon! Unlike most Asian nail salon, this place is super clean and they take time and extra care to make sure my nails are perfect. I had a gel manicure for $45. At first I didn't know what to expect because the price is a bit higher than what I would usually pay. After seeing how many steps was included and the extra care they take to make sure they don't damage your nails and cuticles, it was totally worth it! Plus they use really high end products! The gel colour they used on me was chemical free imported from Japan. I also love the gentle method they use to buff away the cuticles! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a nail salon that actually cares about your nail health and how it looks! Oh plus they give you complimentary tea blends they made themselves!

sooo many colours!

If you are looking to get your nails done and get pampered at the same time then this is definitely the place to go. There are literally hundreds of nail salons nowadays, so what makes this one any different? #1 thing for me is the service. To be honest I've been to top places like Hammam spa and Her Majestys pleasure in the heart of Toronto where you pay top dollar for nails and spa-like treatment, and MU nails is on that level. They start you off with a selection of homemade tea (deeelisious) and they have an aroma therapy diffuser running so you feel relaxed and tranquil while you get you nails done. The other amazing thing about this place besides the excellent service is the colour selection and quality of the gels. They are all shipped in from Japan and are high quality, so your nails don't thin out or dry out due to bad product. And after weeks of wear, no chips or peeling of the gel. The owner (Michelle) is also so detailed with her work. She gets every nail perfect! This isn't your typical "drive thru" style nail salon....its a spa!. For all you nail virgins out there scared about cleanliness or quality, no need to worry, this place is top notch and very well priced. For all you nail veteran's, this place will make you ditch your old shop just like i have. Totally worth it!

A person's left hand with decorated nails is positioned inside a BMW vehicle, with the BMW logo on the steering wheel in the background. The nails have a marble-like design with gold foil accents, and the hand is near the steering wheel, which displays the BMW emblem. The image captures the detail of the nail art and the interior of the car.

I LOOOOOOOOVE my nails. Michelle did such an amazing job - I let her know that I don't get my nails done often and she gave me suggestions on what would look good and balanced. I came in with some nail design pictures in mind and it turned out exactlyyyyy like the pictures! She's so detailed and you can tell that she cares about how things come out. Some may find it pricey but I think you get what you pay for!

Since my family and I were staying in Markham during our last vacation, I wanted to find a nail salon in the city, which ended up leading me here (which I found on Yelp). There wasn't any information about price though on this Yelp page but am happy to add these photos of the pricing that I took when I arrived. I initially had made an appointment for Tuesday, around 2 pm the day before. However, my lunch with one of my aunts and uncles went longer than expected and so I had to call to cancel and ask if I could change the time to a later time. The girl on the phone was so kind and told me because I wasn't exactly sure what time I would be available to have my nails done, she suggested to call before coming in just so I would not have to wait if I was to do a walk in. So later that day, I called prior and the girl told me to come in, so I walked in around 4:55 pm and waited a little over 10 minutes before being asked to take a seat by an employee named Joey. I wanted to get gel nails, which is different from shellac nails for those that may confuse the two (especially since sometimes nail salons will use both words interchangeably but they are not the same). Shellac nails are kind of like a semi- permanent polish, which doesn't last as long (and also is cheaper than gel nails). But gel nails are a semi- permanent gel nail, which does last a few weeks longer. Gel nails cost $75 for a new set. I also wanted a design (I almost always get a design with my nails, which does cost extra but I don't mind), which I had a photo on my phone to show Joey. I told her what design I wanted for my ring finger and middle finger and the same on the other hand (so total of 4 nails that would have design). Joey told me that cost would be $75, in which she didn't charge me extra for design (so I made sure to tip her higher because of it). I liked that Joey took a photo of the design I had in mind with her camera phone so that she could refer to it on her own phone while she was painting my nails. Joey definitely is very talented and I just loved the design she had, as I picked an ice cream cone with sprinkles. She also helped me to find the right colors that I wanted (I wasn't looking for the exact shade and am pretty flexible). I really loved the way the design and the pink color I picked for the rest of my nails, as it really went with the ice cream theme. Although Joey told me that my nails would last 4 weeks, my nails lasted beyond that (and never chipped or lifted. Being in health care, I don't baby my hands and I also wash them constantly, honestly these were probably the best nails I have ever had done). The only reason I took them off was because it really need a fill since my nails had grown over. Joey told me that she had not done an ice cream cone before and she was also happy with her results too. Now this is my first time getting my nails done in Canada and am not sure if it is not customary to get a hand massage and lotion on your hands after a manicure or not. I didn't get one after this manicure but have always had it done with the nail salons in California and also in Hawaii where I have gotten my nails done. Not a big deal, but I wished I had brought my own lotion to put on since my hands were dry. But overall, I am very happy with my experience and would come back the next time I visit Markham in the future. Please note that they do accept credit card but there is a credit card fee. I ended up paying cash.

Nails that are on fleek, of course. I'm kidding, I swear I'm not that basic. I don't even own Uggs. And I've only gotten my nails done 3x in my lifetime. 2 of those times were at Nailed It Studios though so I feel it's time to leave them a review. Nailed It Studios is a tiny, appointment-only, cash-only, 3-woman shop, though I think they're hiring more nail techs to keep up with their insane demand. They're located in the weirdly isolated Langham Square mall on Kennedy but are thriving thanks to their impressive Instagram feed and what I'm guessing is a lot of referrals. When your nails last more than a month without chipping/lifting, you're bound to get questions on where you got them done. I got my nails done by Maggie, then Margie. Maggie is extremely sweet but was a little rough when filing one of my fingers. It didn't hurt per say, but it wasn't comfortable, and I left with a bit of swelling that lasted for 2 days. Same thing happened to my friend. That was literally the only flaw though, as my nails survived for the 6 weeks afterwards, with no lifting or dulling. My second time with Margie was even better. I'm a bad customer because I fidget and tend to stiffen up my hands a lot, due to them being perched in permanent typing position. She was patient with me and the nails turned out perfectly, no discomfort at all. That's why she's the boss. Her marble designs are legendary. Bookings are done conveniently on Whatsapp and first timers need to drop a $20 deposit, in person or through e-transfer. I love this. It ensures I have a transcript of my bookings and I get to ask questions and get quotes on designs I find on Pinterest. They take bookings one month in advance. Margie runs the Whatsapp and she's very responsive. Pricing is extremely fair. They only use gel and it starts at $30. $2/nail for matte, $5 for special polishes, and $6-$12+ for intricate designs. $10 to remove polish. Prices are transparent, reasonable, and you pay for quality stuff. They also give a stamp card which gives you 20% off after your 10th visit. As a woman who appreciates nice nails, grande lattes, and a good pun, Nailed It is the perfect place for me to pumpkin spice up my life and my Instagram feed. Next time you need a picture of a perfectly manicured hand curled around a Starbucks cup, you'll know who to Whatsapp. #NailedIt #Blessed (93/100) - 2017

Emily is very skilled in shaping the nails and making it last a long time. Lucky is good at making nails look delicate and dainty. Both ladies are very talented. I heard that the guy who works at tang tang is also very good. My friends request for him when Lucky and Emily are busy or off that day. The people who work there are very nice and help each other out, which is really sweet. The people there take their time to do a good job, even though it's extremely busy at times. I suggest to call in to book an appointment instead of walking in. This salon is a good location to go to if you're looking for the Korean jewelled nail trends. But they can pull off basically anything you show them. Tang tang also has a loyalty card. When you reach a certain amount, you are eligible for a free jewel on your next walk in. Which is really nice since the jewels start at $5+ each. Another thing to keep in mind is that they ONLY do gel nails. They do acrylic removals for $10. From my experience going to tang tang's, I think their goal for long term clients is to maintain good and healthy growth in their clients nails (like all genuinely good nail salons). There have been a few times where my nails have cracked or broke from my own faults, but the ladies there suggested to only fix the broken nails rather than scamming you for a brand new set. If you have any concerns on damage to the nails or things you are unsure of, don't be afraid to voice out your worries. The ladies there fully explain to you the process and give them their opinions (if you ask) on the best nail maintenance and which options are the best wait to prevent breakage. I really hope that things start opening up soon so I can go back. I highly recommend this place to ladies who like getting their nails done. Or looking to commit to a specific salon. The staff have a really good eye and they really don't try to scam you like other nail salons do.
