Awful experience! I was there twice. The owner stated she's very "professional " so she hired "too many" girls to work for her bc she only does "fancy nails". The first time she did a very poor job. 1 color with no design. Nails were uneven, she puts a lot of gel on my nail and she didn't know how to move it around evenly. The second time it was even worst. She cut my nails very short. Again uneven nails and messy work. Both times I broke a nail in a week and I had to buffer my nails myself. Worst experience. I seriously admire their creativity. The girls who work at Yo Nails Studio are super nice and absolutely talented. I have been there 3 times and I have tried 3 different nail artists (Yoyo, Momo and Vicky). Their price point is reasonable - with the use of bio-gel nail polish, gems and jewels, and intricate hand-drawn designs - starting from $35 and up and for 1-2 hours. They also offer pedicure as well. I usually like to bling it out, so I leave the designs to the nail artists (also, because I'm very indecisive!) I am always happy with the outcome, but I do pay a premium because of the gems and jewels used. The one showing in my photos was the most recent design with the turquoise and silver combo, it was $70 and was done by Momo. Nail extension is available for $3 per nail and they do a great job covering that odd broken short nail. Yoyo (the owner) - she takes control and guides you through her trendy designs Momo - she can grasp what you spot on by asking questions x without looking at the photos Vicky - she puts a lot of effort into replicating a photo and make sure it comes true Apple - never had her but my co-worker loves her bc "she'll take all of them (the photos) into consideration and use her creativity to turn it into something amazing". They use Bio Gel which is better for you and not something that all salons offer. I also like it because when you walk in, it doesn't have that "nail salon smell" where you feel like you're breathing in poison. I've had my nails done at other salons in the past and my nails always burn when I put it into the UV lamp. My nails burnt very little the first time I got my nails done. Came here right before my honeymoon. Was in a desperate state because I needed nails done before leaving and was swamped with work and stuff. ANYWAYS, i came by on a Friday morning around 10am. There were three girls working, only one that actually had a client. I was quoted 40 dollars on the phone when I had called in about a gel re-fill. I understand that I had a broken nail, so there is additional surcharge for that. But i was charged for 60 in the end. Not only that, this place DOES NOT CLEAN THEIR EQUIPMENT. It was so gross. I noticed this half way through my nail session when the girl was about to cut my cuticles with clippers that STI LL HAD LEFT OVER SKIN from someone else dried up on it. OMG. I just asked her to not cut my cuticles and finish up. Not only that, but the girl filed my nails sooooooo badly she actually cut my fingers up. I AM NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS PLACE. I have been going to Yo Nails Studio for more than 5 years+, from their previous location at Times Square to this current location at Chalmers Gate. All nail artists including Yoyo the owner, does an amazing job during each visit. Compared to other nail salons in the same area or same plaza, Yo Nail Studio is reasonably priced for the amount of gel they use on you,and they DON'T BREAK OR FLIP after a day or two like other places do. It's my first time coming to Yo Nail. I had just come back from vacation and I was in desperate need of a trim. Plus I wanted to get a new set of shallac done. I called in today to see if they had any opening and they did! Ilene did my nails today - she was sweet, focused and had great attention to detail. I doubt it, because I showed her the pics of her work for my wedding shower the day before my wedding and she denied doing the work. I was the only customer in the shop as it was the freak snowstorm in April 2018, but she still denied remembering me! My friend recommended me to come to this place for shellac. It's $35 for pedi, about $10 cheaper than regular store. Then I realized why. 1. I used their bathroom and saw that they use a mini washer to wash their towels. They're being hung dry in the bathroom ‍ super unsanitary. 2. Their so call disinfection for tools are just soaking the tools in this discolored solution, again, also inside their bathroom. ‍ 3. Looks like they only clean their chairs and floor once a week, it's covered in white dusk from all the filing. And it's not a super high dense salon, I wanted to wear a mask if I had one that day ‍ 4. The shellac they have is some brand call "Navi". And very limited opi. Looks like some knock off chinese shellac polish. The result is very sticky even after she finish the top coat with an alcohol wipe. 5. I got a cut on my heel!!!! I never get cut!!!!! The lady is very in experience or just careless cause the TV is always on ‍ Won't go back again. Not worth it to risk getting an infection just to save $10 The lady was nice, so that's why I give the 2 star read more

I am so happy that my co-worker introduced me to Yoyo about 5-6 years ago. Ever since, I have not wanted to go to anywhere else to do my nails. I've tried other places in between, but nope, they do not do my nails the way Yoyo does them for me. Yoyo always knows what I want. I usually just have to show her 1-2 pictures to give her an idea of what I want and I pretty much leave it in her hands, because I know it will turn out perfectly. Ever since I've been doing my gel nails with Yoyo, I find that the quality of my nails are better and stronger than before. My nails use to be very soft and brittle. Yoyo's place does not stink/smell like other places I've been to. Everytime I'm there, I either just relax and watch TV or sometimes I can almost just fall half asleep (from a tired day at work) and leave my nails in Yoyo's hands. The prices are very reasonable (compared to lots of other places) and she has lots of colours&blings to choose from. My mom has done pedi & mani as well, and she loves it. My nails can last up to 5 weeks, depending on how fast it grows out each time (and nothing falls off/cracks). On average, I go to Yoyo once a month and I am very excited every time I go. Anyone that asks me where I would recommend them to do their nails...it will only be at Yoyo's. I refuse to go to another nail salon other than Yoyo's. =) read more

Absolutely terrible. The boss has absolutely no skills. Had gels put in and after two days the gels started to lift up on the finger tips sides. The cost was 40 dollars. I called them right away and went back to see them after four days. I showed them the poor job done and the boss told them.to replace it. All going well so far. When the replacement was done they charged me 26 dollars. The boss lady was they needed to pay for the cost of the materials. I was truly blown away. Yoyo is my favourite nail tech in Markham. All her staffs who are learning do a great job too. I've been consistently going to Yoyo and her staff for months now and their team do exactly what I ask each and every time. Her products are good quality products and not once have I came back for a broken nail. I usually get the gel and shellac (35) and sometimes I'll splurge and get the nice designs (35 regular then extra 15 for design, chrome colours etc total comes out to be 50) but it was worth it every penny. If there's a certain look you want, you can tell them! I get the gel nails, but I hate it looking thick on my nails so I often let them know that and they're very accommodating. Creative but.....I started going here because i read reviews and was dealing with Apple who was good but she left working there hiwever when she was there she did the job great and stayed consistent on pricing and now i have had to deal with Mo Mo who is not so great at listening or consistent! Not good at finishing the job leaves messes of gel on hands i have to ask her to remove and clean up, i have to ask or repeat my requests and she always dismisses or argues that its good enough. I am the customer and i want my nails a certain way they need to do it and polish it up at the end by cleaning messy residue of gel and also put cuticle oil. Today i went after i had confirmed prices with the owner already. My pedicure with Mo Mo left much to be desired she would not listen. I had to file myslef and instryct to clean around nails several times. After i finished everything and paid what had been quoted by the owner she had the audacity to tell me in front of other customers that next time the charge would be $5 extra! I am not impressed.
