Michael of this company came to my house to repair indoor rain damage. I didn't hire him, my home HOA hired him. At first, he seemed to be good at repairing. But he honestly did not repair it in plain sight. For example, messy insulation was seen in the outside vent. I asked him not to let that be seen. But he said it was no problem. Only after I showed him the clean vents of the other house, he told me he would not let me see the insulation. From this point on, I thought he was an incredible person. Common sense is the wrong part, because he said it wasn't wrong. He came to my house and told my wife that he had repaired it so that the insulation could not be seen in the ventilation shaft. He said that everything was repaired perfectly. But there were many gaps in the ventilation shaft, so I took a picture of it with the camera stand and saw it. But the lower part of the ventilation shaft was all cut off. The outside ventilation shaft is a little high, so you have to leave the ladder and go up to see it. But he cut the lower part of the invisible vent mesh and pressed down on the visible insulation, so he didn't repair the fundamentally problematic part. His repair was a trick. I want you to think twice when you decide on this company. It's not an honest company. I don't trust this company. I hope my experience will help you. read more

I recently purchased a house and had to unfortunately do some repairs. During the repairs, parts of the walls were opened up and the company did not do patching. A drywall company was recommended to me which I called and received a quote, but due to the season, EVERY contractor out there is busy and unavailable. I then found MTY and called. We recently moved into a house built in the early 40s that hasn't seen much love since. Our first concern was the popcorn/asbestos ceilings, so we called a contractor who was recommended to us. He came the same day, which was nice, and he briefly went through the rooms with the popcorn ceilings, taking no notes or measurements, and gave us a quote off the cuff, all in the span of about five minutes. It seemed like a reasonable quote compared to what we had researched, but the lack of attention to detail left us a little uneasy. So we called Mike for a second quote. Mike showed up the next day, clipboard in hand, measured all the rooms, wrote everything down, and then had a conversation with us about exactly what needed to be done, what we would like to have done, what we might be doing in the future, and what problems he might run into. He left telling us he would give us a quote that night or the next day. The next morning, we had a detailed contract waiting in our email explaining what was going to be done along with a few options, and very reasonably priced. So I let Mike know we wanted him to start as soon as possible. We had to stop in a few times to plan some other projects while the job was underway, so we got a few glimpses of how everything was going. It looked great and the progress was significant each time. He and his crew worked long hours in order to finish the job as quickly as possible. I know this for a fact because we dropped in around 7 pm on a Saturday night to test some paint samples. They were hard at work both when we got there and when we left. At one point, there was an issue with one of the ceilings and how it had been done improperly by the previous owner. Mike reached out to explain the problem and ask how we would like to proceed. When everything was done, we walked into our new house which now had beautiful, smooth ceilings. We were thrilled with the quality of the work and how quickly it was completed. We could've gone with the initial quote, and there's a chance it would've worked out well. On the other hand, Mike is a true professional and a person of integrity. From our first meeting, seeing his attention to detail and his careful planning and communication, it was clear that we would be satisfied with the result. I have yet to find anything Mike can't do. Over the last several years I have had Mike do countless remodel projects including bathroom tile, tub and shower install. He changed my water heater and his guys painted my house...they even changed the water supply from the meter and did it without trashing my lawn. These guys are really meticulous craftsmen and if it is made of wood, steel or stone they will go the distance on finish and attention to detail. MTY Enterprises Construction performed excellent work on several of my properties that I own over a span of nine years. The work originally started when my first condo had a major roof leak that turned into an HOA reroofing problem and they hired MTY Construction to do the repairs. The roof failure caused extensive damage to my bedroom ceiling and floors. From the way they carefully relocated my furniture and sealed off the work area to the effective and timely restoration was fairly fast and they finished ahead of schedule. Mike and his crew was on the job everyday and I discussed his ability to bid some other remodel work I wanted to have done to my condominium. Mike showed me pictures of other remodels his company had preformed and gave me some contact referral telephone numbers of past clients. Upon a agreed contract price, Mike's company totally remodeled my outdated 1980's kitchen with new granite counter tops backsplash, copper apron sink, new faucet/fixtures, down lighting, dishwasher, hidden trash drawer and new flooring throughout my entire condo, removing all the ancient carpeting. Mike suggested that I keep my kitchen oak cabinets as he said they were of good quality and just needed to be refinished and updated with soft close hardware. That really helped to save me money and felt he could have tried to sell me new cabinets but was honest to recommend recycling the original. The work was just beautiful. The day his crew brought in my huge new granite island was unforgettable. It was difficult but he and four men brought it up two flights of stairs and installed it. MTY also remodeled my other two bathrooms as well. I recently bought a newer two story home in a gated community and MTY remodeled and upgraded it as well. He upgraded the plumbing to instant hot water, installed new dedicated electric circuits for the hot tub heater and motor, removed the existing outdated floors and installed 2600 square feet of new ceramic floors with many mosaic medallions , replaced the generic white painted wood on the stairs with new iron ballister and stained oak wood handrails, all painting throughout ceilings and walls, remodeled the master bathroom with a raised new jetted Jacuzzi fitted into a high end granite platform with special designed curved edges, chandelier lighting, shower upgrade, electric Toto toilet, installed window film throughout and new electric remote control curtains, overhead fans, installed cedar lined walls to the walk in closets with new shelving and also finally remodeled the kitchen with soft close drawers and doors, pull out stainless steel pot and pan trays, undercounter lighting, level three granite island, counter tops, backsplash, down lighting, stacked double oven and new dishwasher. Mike suggested that I had room for a walk-in pantry and it was an excellent compliment to my new kitchen. Mike said there was enough leftover granite to do the fireplace, so I had him install new granite over the ugly outdated bricks. All came out beautiful and his pricing was very fair, reasonable and within my budget. My new remodeled home is the now the pride and showcase of my neighborhood. I was very happy with my experience with Michael and MTY Enterprises Construction. After having a prior bad experience with another general contractor with a prior home project, I was a nervous about hiring a new one. From the very first telephone call forward, there was a sense of professionalism and trust foundation that continued throughout the entire remodeling process. I don't know that much about construction as a whole but I do know and can read people very well. I've learned to trust my gut instincts and certainly Mike's company and his crew was a bulls eye in the trust department. Actually I originally did not find MTY Construction with Yelp but had heard of him through a referral from a coworker. I did read his Yelp reviews, perused his companies website and liked what I saw. After setting up a time to meet and make a general assessment of what I wanted to remodel Mike met with me at my home. He listened to my vision and asked questions and made suggestions, he said based on his 44 years experience in the building trades. He also asked to take some pictures and made measurements of my existing kitchen. This was on a Friday and he said he would call me Monday with a general estimate and if the number was in the general neighborhood of my budget, he would further work on a detailed estimate. The estimate was a little higher than what I had in mind but he assured and showed me what the costs were and how he arrived at the estimate. We finally worked out an estimate that was affordable within my budget and we began construction. The job seemed to start very quickly as this was a complete tear down and needed some beam support for load bearing walls we took out to get a open floor concept. My home was built in the mid fifties and there were was quite a lot of dust and debris but I noticed how Mike and his crew cleaned up each day they worked on the job. Everything as a whole went very well and there was a few issues with some extra work that Mike said he would only ask me for the material cost. I felt this was more than fair and offered to pay for the extra labor but Mike declined and just asked that I tell my friends about his company. The overall kitchen remodel came out on time and looked even better than I had previously envisioned or imagined. Is there a 6 star offering? I have used MTY CONSTRUCTION over a period of twenty years. I found Mike and his company for our first home we purchased back in the late 90's. We liked the home we bought but it was an older home that had a lot of character but needed extensive rehabilitation. Electrical, plumbing upgrades, kitchen, bathroom, roof, seems just about everything needed work. We had other licensed general contractors out to bid out our various home remodel issues and had prices all over the map. What was different about MTY Construction was that Mike personally took the time to listen to our wish list and make every effort to make out vision a reality not only with the sketches that turned into professional drawings but equally important was the pricing. He said he would start after meeting with us with a general estimate and if this was in the neighborhood of our budget, he would give an exact line item breakdown of the whole project. We found the pricing to fit our budget and even though he runs a busy company, he gave us a schedule that we could live with and literally through as we decided to live through our home remodel experience. Besides being cost competitive, schedule conscious and keeping the work areas clean and the end of the day, we were extremely happy and satisfied with the professional result MTY Construction gave us. Since that first home, we eventually sold it and upgraded to a newer home only to again have Mike and his company perform various remodels to out newer home. I own a business and asked if he performed commercial building remodels and he said his first twenty or so years of his 43 years in the building trades was spent remodeling commercial buildings. We had purchased and moved into a newer home and wanted to make an upgrade to our kitchen. We had heard of of Mike and his company from a long time college friend and decided to see if his company could share our vision and more importantly stay within my budget. What was first noticeable about Mike and MTY Construction was that he seemed to have a depth of experience, telling us that he's been in building trades since 1973, carried insurance, bonded and licensed with the Contractors State License Board with zero complaints against his long standing license. That meant a lot to us considering some of the stories I have heard and some TV shows where bad contractors performed poorly, even dangerously to clients. Mike also offered some very good ideas that were eventually added to mine. Besides drafting a floor plan and giving us a general quote, he seemed to be very detailed orientated which was very helpful. We knew before we started construction how much the job would cost, the schedule of duration of work, and had product swatches of all the materials used in our remodel. Mike's crew was professional and because we could not afford to move of our home during construction, they left the job site as clean as possible each day when they finished. Before I forget, there were also some additional plumbing problems he found once inside the kitchen walls that he repaired for free.
