We were in need of a tree service company to remove some trees close to our home and some that were…read morediseased. We also needed some old stumps grinded and a bit of tree trimming. We contacted a number of companies in the area and four companies provided quotes for us. One of those companies was Sierra Pacific Tree Care. We have only the best things to say about this business. From the very beginning, the company was super responsive and came out in a timely manner to give us a quote. The office manager, Liz was an excellent communicator. She was patient and always was able to answer our questions or get back to us quickly with an answer. We were told by the owner, Mauro that some of the stumps may not be able to be grinded but he would do his best. On the day of work, Mauro showed up with six workers, heavy equipment and trucks with trailers. To our absolute delight, Mauro's fleet of men were super hard working, running up our hill at a quick quip to get the job done. Some of the men were high up in the trees cutting down branches and piece by piece logs. We must mention that there were power lines tethered to two of the trees needing to come down and the men were very careful and skilled so that the power lines remained intact. We also have to give kudos to Mauro. He is not one of those owners who sits back and watches the work being done. He got his hands dirty, literally by working the grinder and removing numerous stumps. It was an all day job and the crew broke for a 30 minute lunch before getting back at it. When all of the work was done, the crew cleaned up all of the debris, sawdust and logs. Their work ethic was truly admirable. We were very impressed with the work and will use them in the future. We highly recommend Sierra Pacific Tree Care for any tree job.

When we got home I checked my credit card app and saw that La Quinta charged me for the entire stay even though it was prepaid through Expedia. After calling the hotel 3 times over the past week, they still haven't reversed the charge so now I have to dispute the charge through my credit card app. Has anyone else experienced something similar with La Quinta in SLO? Seems like a sketchy way to do business and now I'm wondering if this is something that they get away with since a lot of people don't frequently check their charges to see if they've been double charged by the third party booking site and La Quinta. This was my first time and last time staying at La Quinta. I will not stay there again.

Had an issue with a black oak at my home in Cascade Shores that had 3 growth ends, one of which…read moresnapped last November in a wind storm. This huge limb (18" diameter) logged against a fir tree and a cedar tree. It levitated parallel to the ground, 30 ft. above the ground and its 2 ends were over the roof of my house. I started in April trying to get a bid on the removal of this limb. Three tree service companies never returned my call. Two other companies did come out to inspect the project. One declined the other submitted a bid then withdrew the bid when I accepted it because they were too busy. I then contacted Treesafe. The only negative was their lack of e-mail communication to my numerous e-mail questions ( I live in the Bay Area). They arrived on time with a 6 man crew, worked from 8:30 to 4:00 and did a splendid job on removing my tree issue. Sadly due to poor planning and placement of our trees most ended up dying, becoming a hazard with them being so big and being so close to the house. My husband had gotten some pricing from tree people (I use this term because not one of them was as detailed as Garrett with the state of our trees and his honest opinion) they said take out this tree, trim this one back. We didn't know what to do, most of their estimates didn't involve all the rest of what we needed done. Tired of all the mess we wanted them all gone. Garrett came looked at our trees and told us, I could take out all your trees but I really don't think you want to do that and went over how removing the dead trees would help the other ones become healthy and fill out, provide shade and that the esthetics would be there. I appreciate him taking the time to educate us on our trees and I am loving the result. They took out 7 trees, not little ones great big dead red woods.
