I dropped off the car at Downtown Auto Body and got an estimate right on the spot. I worked with Joey who was very easy to talk to about the car issues and what could be done. Over the next few days I waited very nervously while the car was being worked on. I have had a few bad experiences with mechanics over charging, throwing last minute charges in and overall taking advantage of me because I am a woman. When I called to check on things and re-confirm the pricing, Joey thoroughly explained everything that was being done to the car and why it was being done, as well as give me a solid confirmed estimate on the charges. He left me feeling very confident that they were doing a great job on all of the repairs on the car. I felt really relieved after talking to him on the phone and was happy he took the time to explain everything. The day I picked up the car I was really impressed with the great job that they had done. Though they needed to keep the car a few days longer on the frame rack due to the frame being bent so far, they managed to get it back on track, made all of the repairs and even cleaned up some scrapes on the bumper for no extra charge. Best thing was that the costs came to nearly $1000 cheaper than I and my boyfriend had initially assumed it would cost. I waited a few weeks to write this review to test how well the repairs held up and they are all holding steady with issues. I highly recommend Downtown Auto Body to anyone needing body work done. I found Gerber on Yelp and I have to say, I am phenomenally happy with my experience. Submitting a quote online was super quick and easy. I received a response in a few hours. Later, I submitted a claim through the responsible party's insurance. I was interested that the shop performed their own paint work and was skeptical that they could match my car's unique red metal flake finish. The technician assured me that they do their best but let me know it may be a slightly different shade in certain lighting conditions. I was definitely a bit worried, but it turns out that they did an excellent job. I got a call about a week later that my vehicle was ready for pickup. I was so happy with the results of my repair! The bumper matches the rest of the car perfectly and the workmanship is second to none. I couldn't be more pleased. What's more - they matched their quote within about $50. You just can't beat that. (i am not saying this is what will happen for you..i'm just saying they were pretty good guys). i gave them the 14 dollars i had in my wallet and would have given them big kisses too if it didn't seem kind of an awkward thing to do. i got the oil changed (somewhere else..they are an auto body shop, after all) and guess what, the engine light went out! i haven't ever written a yelp review but thinking back on how these dudes rescued me, i figured it was the least i could do! thanks, dave's.
